Gold Strike Hot Springs: Hiking Las Vegas
The INCREDIBLE Gold Strike Hot Springs hike is in Boulder City, about 30 minutes from Las Vegas and Henderson. At about 8.5 miles and 1,000' in elevation change, this hike is rated STRENUOUS. There are several ropes throughout the bouldering sections to help with safe passage. This trail is closed during the summer due to high heat. Take LOTS of water, snacks, and gloves for the rope sections. I have to say, with so much landscape diversity and so many technical aspects, this is my new favorite hike!

Hiking Goldstrike Canyon Hot Springs Las Vegas Nevada
Located in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area along the Colorado River, Gold Strike Canyon contains a number of natural hot springs, ranging in temperature from 70 to 144 degrees. It is possible, albeit rather dangerous, to reach the springs by canoe, but most visitors prefer to make the six-mile hike to the pools from U.S. Highway 93, which takes about two and a half hours.
Features to look for along the way include a water fall, numerous caves, crystalline stalactites and stalagmites, narrow passages, and 100-foot-high canyon walls. Scrambling across boulders is required to reach the hot spring pools, which are terraced into the landscape for about 100 yards. Many of the pools are deep enough for bathing and even swimming. They have a slightly blue-green tint due to the algae that grows in the very hottest water.
To get there from Las Vegas, take U.S. Highway 93 south toward Boulder City and Hoover Dam. About half a mile past the Hacienda Casino (aka the former Goldstrike Casino), take a right onto the road that goes south under the new highway. At the fork in the road past the east-bound highway on-ramp, turn left and go down to the bottom of the canyon. A half-mile further on, the road ends at the trailhead. FOLLOW MOUNTAIN DO

Motorhome RV Living | Hiking To Hoover Dam & The Gold Strike Hot Springs Trail
Class A Motorhome RV Living: Season 3 EP008 February 23-25, 2018 Get more of our stuff at
In this video, we head out to the Lake Mead National Recreation area to do some hiking around the Hoover Dam Lodge.
Our first hike, was a 7 mile round trip to the Hoover Dam from the Hoover Dam Lodge. It travels along the old railroad trail that carried supplies to the dam site. It's a very easy hike along a well groomed path.
Our second hike, was down the Gold Strike Trail to the awaiting hot springs. It is a pretty difficult hike with an elevation change of around 970 ft. There are a few ropes to climb down and quite a bit of scrambling to be done.
The reward at the end was well worth it! Our soak in the hot springs made the trip worth while.
The next couple of days were a little brutal as our bodies fought back! Lol!
Safe travels everyone!

The Trail in the Hot Springs and Colorado River
Vegas has awesome places to hike! I've always loved the outdoors, hiking, and camping. Luckily, my girlfriend also loves these things. Something someone told me, while sailing, always stuck with me. He told me to stay in a healthy relationship, you have to have hobbies you do together. For him, his wife, and daughters...it was sailing. They always went sailing together, even when his daughters were older.
My girlfriend and I like hiking. We heard about Gold Strike Hot Springs and we both talked about going there. It wasn't until we had lived in Vegas for almost 3 years before we went on the adventure. It was awesome! This vid shows us hiking up to the hot springs and Colorado River.
Before hiking this trail, you have to be prepared. We went the night before at 4:20 in the afternoon to check it out. You can see that vid by clicking on one of the links below. We were the last ones out of the canyon and came out with a flashlight. It was pitch black in the canyon. We packed tons of water, turkey sandwiches, extra turkey, a first-aid kit, rope, lighter, knife, and extra layers of clothes. We could have used more water, even though we had plenty.
I believe this canyon is sacred ground. There must be an Indian burial ground nearby. While editing a vid, I heard what sounded like an ancient Indian's voice. It said, Go away, go away, go away. It didn't sound like an echo. It sounded like an Indian chant, from a distant world aligned with ours. We didn't hear it while we were filming. After the voice says, Go away three times, you notice Ashley hears something. Then, about 10 minutes later we stopped hiking because I heard something. As we stopped, a pebble dropped from the cliff above us. It was if something was stalking us. See what you think and leave a comment. I will leave a link to this vid below. Right after this moment, we started hiking out of the canyon. It was nearly dusk and we still had a couple rope climbs to do. I knew the ropes were not to be trusted. As I was climbing one of the higher climbs, the rope snapped. I banged my knee good but was okay because I wasn't leaning backward relying on the rope. I kept my body close to the rock. Normally, you could lean back with a good rope you trust. Then, my girlfriend banged her head on a rock at the top of the next climb. Possibly, it was a connection to the other side.
When I originally made this channel, it was because my youngest son told me his dream was to have a youtube channel. He asked me to get a PS3 for his birthday. I hadn't played video games since he was born. I sold my Playstation, Xbox, and Wii to buy him diapers. Here he was, almost 7 years old, wanting me to buy myself a Playstation. So, I hastily went to the video game store to buy a console, Minecraft, and a mic. We really lived. I played thousands of hours of Minecraft with both my sons! I bonded with my firstborn son, playing COD! The three of us also loved playing Skate 3! It was awesome. I remember one day we played 17 hours straight! We put in a lot of 10 hour days of hard work, playing, and building. I will post links to their YouTube channels below. We like GTA 5 on PS4, now. My sons both have gaming computers, too. Be sure to Like and Subscribe to their channels!
Those first years of becoming a gamer again were the best days of my life. I got to be close to my sons, even though we were 1,000 miles apart. Together, the three of us would explore worlds. We had so many awesome adventures together. I got so close with my two sons while gaming, online, together. As I opened this channel, my idea for it was to have awesome adventures doing things we love.
Our Awesome Adventures is about love, family, relationships, pets, traveling, and gaming. When I first created this channel it was also a way to connect my sons and daughters. I wanted my children to have something that nobody could take away from our unbreakable family. The moments from the past, present, and future will always be here because of our awesome adventures.

TOP TRAVEL TIPS:
*Reservations are required. They take phone calls to reserve a spot. Here's the website with their reservation calendar:
*Bring headlamps so you can stay late and hike back in the dark in order to have the whole place to yourself like we did.
*Clothing is optional- there will likely be naked people in close proximity, just fyi.
*The hike is a gradual and easy 4.5 miles which follows the logging road.
*The water is very nice with three pools: the lower water was around 90 degrees fahrenheit, the middle pool 104 degrees, and the upper pool/ cave water temp is 111 degrees.
*Bring a hand towel for taking pictures! We forgot one and it's tough to keep your hands and the lens clean with the heat of the water, and there always a high chance of rain in the Cascades.
*The drive in gets pretty difficult after the sharp right turn. A vehicle with good tires and off road capabilities is a must.
*The driving directions in are also not very clear, but here's the driving route in:
The journey included:

Hiking To The Arizona Hot Springs
Whether you are an avid hiker or just someone looking for a fun adventure for the day, this hike is a challenging hike with a big payoff. We found ourselves taking the 3 mile hike toward the Arizona Hot Springs on the perfect day in early January. While the rest of the country was being blasted by cold weather, mid 60s and light winds made for the perfect day.
We started our hike a bit later in the day than originally expected and so after melting into the amazing waters of the hot springs it made it a bit hard to leave for the trek back to the parking area. We ended up hiking back in the dark and while it was a bit more confusing this way, the stars at night were so amazing!

About this video: In this video, Seez Santos and BrandonON go on to hike the Frenchman Mountain trailhead. Frenchman Mountain is located east of Las Vegas in the U.S. state of Nevada. Made up of rocks similar to those found on the bottom of the Grand Canyon, Frenchman Mountain formed when faulting elevated and tilted the rocks followed by erosion, giving it its sharp triangular profile. The mountain provides an example of the Great Unconformity with the tilted Paleozoic Tapeats Sandstone underlain by Paleoproterozoic Vishnu Schist, which is some of the oldest rock on the North American continent, having been created about two billion years ago. The Frenchman Mountain trail is one of the least known about hiking trails in Las Vegas. People often go to Red Rock Canyon or Mt Charleston to see a beautiful hiking trail. Often times it’s in your own backyard! if you're a local you might be wondering what are the best things to do in Las Vegas? I hope this video gives you an answer and opportunity to see the beauty and wonder that is away from the Las Vegas Strip
