Hida no Sato 飛騨の郷
The Hida Folk Village (飛騨民俗村 Hida Minzoku Mura) is an open air museum of ~30 old farmhouses illustrating traditional architectural styles of the Japanese mountain villages. The Hida Folk Village (飛騨の郷 Hida no Sato) is located near Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The structures in the village range from 100 to 500 years of age and are filled with artifacts from the respective time periods, including spindles, silk worm raising artifacts, cooking utensils, and clothing. There are workshops demonstrating how the region's handicrafts -- sandal-weaving, wood carving, tie-dying, weaving, lacquering -- are made.
Towards the end - the Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine in Takayama, which dates from the time of the Emperor Nintoku (413 - 439), when he requested Prince Takefurukuma-no-mikoto to subjugate the monster Ryoumen Sukuna, a horrible beast with 2 heads, 4 arms and 4 legs. Before attempting the task, the warrior enshrined his father, the Emperor Ojin, as the deity of this sanctuary,

Japan Solo Trip - Episode 5
Hida Furukawa Folk Village
About 20 mins of walk, there is a Folk Village near the Takayama town. The village is publicly opened as a museum with a entry fee of 500 Japanese Yen. Inside the village, you can see a lot of their traditional buildings at Takayama. The view of the entire village is phenomenal. A very good place to relax and rewind the traditional Takayama culture.
In the evening, I went to Hida, another small town at Takayama area. The Hida town preserved a lot of the old Japanese buildings. It is a very unique small town which is filled with Japanese culture. There are very less people in town, but the view is super aesthetic, peaceful and harmony.

Things to do Hida Folk Village 飛騨民俗村Japan 2017.
Hida Folk Village (飛騨の里, Hida no Sato) is an open air museum exhibiting over 30 traditional houses from the Hida region, the mountainous district of Gifu Prefecture around Takayama. The houses were built during the Edo Period (1603 - 1867) and were relocated from their original locations to create the museum in 1971.
In a village-like atmosphere, the museum features buildings such as the former village head's house, logging huts, storehouses and a number of gassho-zukuri farmhouses. These massive farmhouses are named after their steep thatched roofs which resemble a pair of hands joined in prayer (gassho). They were moved here from nearby Shirakawago, where gassho-zukuri houses are the reason for the region's World Heritage status. All exhibited buildings at the Hida Folk Village are carefully preserved and open for exploration. They have unique wooden architecture and exhibit tools and utensils used in everyday life in the past. Interestingly, the buildings' indoor fireplaces are lit every morning, making this outstanding open air museum a treat not only for the eyes but also for the nose.
A short walk from the Hida Folk Village is the Hida Takayama Crafts Experience Center, where workshops on local handicrafts are given. For a fee of 600 to 1600 yen, visitors can learn how to make crafts such as beaded key chains, sarubobo dolls (a popular local doll), ceramic cups or glass wind chimes, and take them home as souvenirs. Workshops last 15 to 60 minutes, and reservations are not required. The Hida Folk Village is a 30 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride from Takayama Station in the opposite direction of the city center. The Sarubobo Bus provides connections every 20-40 minutes for 210 yen per ride or 620 yen for a one day pass. There is also a special discount ticket that combines the bus round trip from Takayama Station with admission to Hida no Sato for 930 yen.

Hida Folk Village in Takayama(BMPCC4K) : 飛騨の里 - 飛騨高山
合掌造りの建物といえば白川郷を思い浮かべますが、飛騨高山にもこのような場所がありました。観光客で込み合うこともなく、異世界に迷い込んだかのような感覚を覚えました。
Hida Folk Village (Hida Minzoku Mura) is an open-air museum of close to 30 old farmhouses illustrating the traditional architectural styles of the mountainous regions of Japan. Of particular interest are the thatched and shingled roofs, such as the gasshō-zukuri-styled buildings. Many of the buildings were brought from their original sites to preserve them. The village is picturesque, as it is built on a hillside overlooking the Takayama Valley and surrounds a large pond. It is in the city of Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, about 2.5 km southwest of the train station.
