A Walk Through Alfama - Lisbon
BRAND NEW!!! Check out my DJI Osmo Pocket Test Footage:
Alfama is probably Lisbon's most iconic and romantic neighborhood. So photogenic, beautiful small streets and squares. Tiny houses and amazing views because it's all set on a hill.
But very busy and almost unbearable if there is a giant cruise ship parked down at the port. Sadly the neighborhood is changing due to platforms like Airbnb. Locals move out, to make room for tourists!

LISBON: Alfama - oldest district (1/5) Portugal
Alfama is the oldest district of Lisbon/Lisboa (Portugal), spreading on the slope between the São Jorge Castle and the Tagus/Tejo river. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-hamma, meaning hot fountains or baths. It contains many important historical attractions, as well as an abundance of Fado bars and restaurants.
Overlooking the Alfama is the medieval Castle of São Jorge, offering the best views of the city.
On the slopes of Alfama there are terraces/viewpoints ('miradouros') from which to see the city, like the Miradouro de Santa Luzia (near the church of the same name and over remnants of the Moorish city walls) and the Miradouro das Portas do Sol.
Near the Miradouro de Santa Luzia is located the Museum of Decorative Arts (Museu de Artes Decorativas), a 17th-century mansion with magnificent interiors.
Among the churches of the Alfama are Lisbon Cathedral (12th–14th century, oldest of the city), the Convento da Graça (18th century), the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora (late 16th–18th century), and the baroque Church of Santa Engrácia (17th century), now converted into the National Pantheon ('Panteão Nacional'). Here important Portuguese personalities are buried, like presidents of the republic and writers.

Making his mark: Lisbon street artist Vhils
Instead of a paintbrush, Alexandre Farto uses drills and jackhammers to create large-scale public art that exposes layers of a city's history. Once seen as a vandal known by his tag, Vhils, he has fueled the flourishing street art scene in his native Lisbon, Portugal, where murals have added a colorful touch to the otherwise overlooked or mundane, and he has transformed buildings in cities around the world by exposing layers of history. Seth Doane reports.

Lisbon, Portugal Walking Tour 4K HD
This is a virtual walking tour around Lisbon, Portugal from Old Town Lisboa to the Alfama district then towards the more modern area of Lisbon where the museums and the aquarium are. The old town of Lisbon remains largely intact and street cars and trolleys are still used as a transportation method. Lisbon also has a modern rail system that can take you around Portugal from north to south.

Walking Tour of LISBOA, Portugal — Alfama Video Walk【4K】????????
A Camera Floating Among The Crowd. Walking Around ALFAMA LISBON, PORTUGAL by Wanna Walk — Welcome to LISBOA where geography is hard on the feet but very pleasant to the eye! The city is extremely hilly, in fact, Lisbon is built on seven hills.
Lisbon is Portugal’s hilly, coastal capital city. From imposing São Jorge Castle, the view encompasses the old city’s pastel colored buildings, Tagus Estuary and Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge. Nearby, the National Azulejo Museum displays five centuries of decorative ceramic tiles. Just outside Lisbon is a string of Atlantic beaches, from Cascais to Estoril.

Portugal LISBOA, Video Walk HD
Portugal is a southern European country on the Iberian Peninsula, bordering Spain. Its location on the Atlantic Ocean has influenced many aspects of its culture: salt cod and grilled sardines are national dishes, the Algarve's beaches are a major destination and much of the nation’s architecture dates to the 1500 to 1800s, when Portugal had a powerful maritime empire.
This is a walking tour around Lisbon (Lisboa) the capital of Portugal. Be sure to visit the Castelo de São Jorge, Museu do Teatro Romano, Ponte 25 de Abril, Ponte Vasco da Gama, Aqueduto das Aguas Livres, Belem Tower and more. Be sure to check the Portuguese food, because it's just fantastic. Dining rituals tend to follow the Mediterranean siesta body clock.

Most restaurants are very small, family run and generally cheap. Some of them have a sheet on the door with the pratos do dia (dishes of the day) written on it. These dishes are usually cheaper and fresher than the rest of menu there, and unless you're looking for something specific, they're the right choice.
