PRAGUE - Czech Travel Guide | Around The World
Prague (Czech: Praha) is the capital city and largest city of the Czech Republic. It is one of the largest cities of Central Europe and has served as the capital of the historic region of Bohemia for centuries. The city is famous for its unique medieval architecture, the historical centre of Prague is inscribed in the World Heritage List.
This magical city of bridges, cathedrals, gold-tipped towers and church domes, has been mirrored in the surface of the swan-filled Vltava River for more than ten centuries. Almost undamaged by WWII, Prague's medieval centre remains a wonderful mixture of cobbled lanes, walled courtyards, cathedrals and countless church spires all in the shadow of her majestic 9th century castle that looks eastward as the sun sets behind her. Prague is also a modern and vibrant city full of energy, music, cultural art, fine dining and special events catering to the independent traveler's thirst for adventure.
It is regarded by many as one of Europe's most charming, colorful and beautiful cities, Prague has become the most popular travel destination in Central Europe along with Vienna and Krakow. Millions of tourists visit the city every year.
Prague was founded in the later 9th century, and soon became the seat of Bohemian kings, some of whom ruled as emperors of the Holy Roman Empire. The city thrived under the rule of Charles IV, who ordered the building of the New Town in the 14th century - many of the city's most important attractions date back to that age. The city also went under Habsburg rule and became the capital of a province of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In 1918, after World War I, the city became the capital of Czechoslovakia. After 1989 many foreigners, especially young people, moved to Prague. In 1992, its historic centre was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 1993, Czechoslovakia split into two countries and Prague became capital city of the new Czech Republic.
The Vltava River runs through Prague, which is home to about 1.2 million people. The capital may be beautiful, but pollution often hovers over the city due to its location in the Vltava River basin.
Václav Havel Airport Prague, (IATA: PRG), +420 220 111 111, +420 296 661 111. There are three terminals; Terminal 1 for non-Schengen flights and Terminal 2 for Schengen flights are connected whilst Terminal 3 for private jets is two stops away by bus. Located 20 km (12 mi) northwest of the city centre, it generally takes about 30 min to reach the city centre by car. The airport is served by a number of airlines, Czech Airlines (ČSA) being the national carrier operating the highest number of flights. Check airport website for list of all carriers and destinations.
Public transportation is very convenient in most of the areas visitors are likely to frequent. One key thing to note if you are staying outside of the the city centre is that public transport buses do not enter the historic districts (Old Town, New Town, Lower Town, etc.), so as to prevent air and noise pollution. One must transfer to a cleaner and quieter electric-powered tram or a metro before reaching historic areas.
Prague has more than 120 kilometer of bike paths to its disposal. This makes Prague a suitable city to discover by bike. Nowadays Prague can be seen as a real cycle city. This is confirmed by the great offer of cycle services and centres. There are several bicycle garages, bike rental and bike tour companies making cycling in this city change for the better. For more information and exact rules concerning cycling in Prague you can take a look at this website.

Kutná Hora in Czech Republic with wheelchair
More information and
Our journey through several beautiful and accessible places wheelchair Czech Republic took us to visit what is known as the Silver City, also called the Treasure Box country, we talk about Kutna Hora also it is World Heritage since 1995.
We moved in a van with driver, adapted platform so you can travel comfortably sitting on my wheelchair, I remind you that this service must hire or ask your travel agency available to take this into account.
The city has some area especially in the beautiful cobbled road there to the Cathedral of Santa Barbara to which I agreed without architectural barriers and enjoyed its spectacular beauty.
A few minutes from the Cathedral is the Jesuit College, perfectly adapted with ramps and elevators, I could enjoy various agencies, including the former refectory and the pharmacy, and there are always interesting art exhibitions.
From here, a paved area we go to the historic center making a tour of different places, including the votive column of the plague, the main square, where a market is installed and the National St. Wenceslas Festival is held.
From the main square we finished our tour in the Italian Court, a place of great beauty where the currency of the Czech kingdom was minted and it was of great importance for the prosperity of the kingdom.
Before we left we ate at a restaurant adapted by the Jesuit College, the Barbora Restaurant. Has a parking space reserved for the disabled, disabled toilets and food lovely with spectacular views of the Cathedral.
All the places that appear in the video have been tested by me personally and recommend.
Thank you all for joining us on this trip.

Golden Gate Bridge
The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate strait, the mile-wide, three-mile-long channel between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the U.S. city of San Francisco, on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula, to Marin County, bridging both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
The Frommers travel guide considers the Golden Gate Bridge possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world. It opened in 1937 and had, until 1964, the longest suspension bridge main span in the world, at 4,200 feet (1,300 m).

Barcelona, Spain - Public Transportation
Barcelona is served by a comprehensive local public transport network that includes a metro, a bus network, two separate modern tram networks, a separate historic tram line, and several funiculars and aerial cable cars. The Barcelona Metro network comprises of eleven lines, identified by an L followed by the line number as well as by individual colours. Most of the network (nine lines) is operated by the Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), but three lines are FGC commuter lines that run through the city. When finished, the L9 will be the second longest underground metro line in Europe with 42.6 km; only shorter than London's 76 km Central Line.
Another company, TRAMMET, operates the city's two modern tram networks, known as Trambaix and Trambesòs. The historic tram line, the Tramvia Blau, connects the metro to the Funicular del Tibidabo (both operated by TMB). The Funicular de Tibidabo climbs the Tibidabo hill, as does the Funicular de Vallvidrera (FGC). The Funicular de Montjuïc (TMB) climbs the Montjuïc hill. The city has two aerial cable cars: Montjuïc Aerial Tramway (to the Montjuïc castle) and Port Vell Aerial Tramway that runs via Torre Jaume I and Torre Sant Sebastià over the port.
Barcelona has a metered taxi fleet governed by the Institut Metropolità del Taxi (Metropolitan Taxi Institute), composed of more than 10,000 cars. Most of the licences are in the hands of self-employed drivers. With their black and yellow livery, Barcelona's taxis are easily spotted.
On March 2007, Barcelona's City Council started the Bicing service, a bicycle service understood as a public transport. Once the user has their user card, they can take a bicycle from any of the 100 stations spread around the city and use it anywhere the urban area of the city, and then leave it at another station. The service has been a success, with over 50,000 subscribed users in three months.
