I recently took the ferry from Juneau to Haines in Alaska. I recorded a video of the boat and describes some of the surrounding areas. I showed the ferry food and tables.
To ride the ferry one way without a car it cost me $50. I then rented a car and drove to Anchorage for my flight home. I did lots of hiking, exploring and fishing before going home though.
I hope this video is helpful, thanks for watching!
DRIVE that RV onto a FERRY, and CRUISE Alaska's Inside Passage!!!
Come aboard, and take a full tour of the Malaspina, an AMHS ferry, as we travel from Prince Rupert to Juneau through Alaska’s Inside Passage. It’s not as luxurious as a cruise ship, but it was a lot of fun, and we got to take along our minivan and motorhome. (We’ll even show you the car deck where those were stored!)

Alaska Marine Highway- trip to Alaska
Patrick Fisher Project: Haines, Alaska to Juneau, Alaska via the Alaska Marine Highway
On Sunday, August 2, 2015 I took the Alaska Marine Highway ferry from Haines, Alaska to Juneau, Alaska. This is a video I made of the ferry ride.
All footage was obtained using a GoPro Hero 4 Black.
The music in the video is by a musician out of Erie, Pennsylvania that performs under the moniker Wayne Harding. The song is titled May You Walk in Peace and it is off his EP All That You Have Lost.
Inside Passage with the Alaska State Ferry
Because of mechanical problems, a three day trip turns into a 6 day trip, from Bellingham WA to Skagway AK, August 2015. A beautiful trip, nevertheless.
Moving to Alaska! Part 5 boarding the Ferry in Bellingham
We made it to the Washington coast! We arrived early, as every good traveler should and checked in. Plenty of time to grab some groceries for the voyage as well as try out a new place to eat. Seriously, go to the Soy house. The place has some killer food. Stay tuned for the next video where we finally get settled in our bunk room.

Alaska Marine Highway
During our 11 day trip to southeast Alaska, we spent 3 days aboard ferries of the Alaska Marine Highway. 2 days camping out in a tent on the back deck of the Columbia and one night in a room on the Matanuska. Besides having amazing panoramic views and great accommodations, my favorite thing about the ferries was there routes would take you to places the cruise ships couldn't go, where you could stay for a couple of days before hoping on the next one. I felt it was a huge advantage for exploring and just getting to know an area. Music by: Golden Eels Deep End

Produced by Independent Public Television, Inc., (IPTV), the series eventually consisted of 16 one-hour shows, 46 half-hour shows, and one three-hour special broadcast. Funded through the Alaska Humanities Forum and State of Alaska, the series won multiple awards for public service and educational programming. IPTV dissolved in 1988. Videotapes for all finished productions and raw footage were later moved to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), where they became housed with the Alaska Film Archives, a unit of the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections & Archives department in the Rasmuson Library at UAF, shortly after the unit was founded in 1993. The Alaska Film Archives is currently seeking funding to preserve and digitize all of the original full interviews gathered in the making of the Alaska Review series. Copies of finished productions are also held by Alaska State Library Historical Collections in Juneau. For more information, please contact the Alaska Film Archives at University of Alaska Fairbanks.
