Borneo Youth Sape Festival 1: Afternoon Session at One Malaysia Cultural Village Sibu Sarawak 砂拉越沙贝节
First of all let us congratulate Alexander Diglin the organiser and president of PEBEDAS on his first try at Borneo Youth Sape Festival. Good job.
The sape' (sampek, sampeh, sapek) is a traditional lute of many of the Orang Ulu or upriver people, mainly the Kayan and Kenyah community. Sape also known as Borneo Guitar. Sapes are carved from a single bole of wood, with many modern instruments reaching over a metre in length.

We went to Sarawak Cultural Village in Damai, about 45 minutes in a grab car away from Kuching’s city centre. We learned some more about Sarawak’s tribes and Hannah got picked to take part on stage in the show! We then walked around Damai Cultural Village before heading to Damai Beach and (briefly) attending the Borneo Fashion Week 2018’s Borneo Fashion Show 2018 with Borneo Talk.

17 July 2011. The team from the Kuching Life Care Society had organise the monthly outing trip, and this month is to the Sarawak Cultural Village. It was a hot and Sunny day, and the total passengers that join for the trip are a total of 60 people, so the bus are fully loaded.

First ever Youth Sape Festival organised by PEBEDAS at One Malaysia Cultural Village, Sibu Sarawak Malaysia.
The sape' (sampek, sampeh, sapek) is a traditional lute of many of the Orang Ulu or upriver people, mainly the Kayan and Kenyah community. Sape also known as Borneo Guitar. Sapes are carved from a single bole of wood, with many modern instruments reaching over a metre in length.
The evening session belonged to the seniors. This video showcase a bunch of awesome bands including Kelab Sape Dayak Sibu, Gendang Pempat, Borneo Spectrum, Ethnic Revolution and Abuel. The variety in styles was beyond expectation and imagination. For more, please check out our web
