A typical day in the 14th arrondissement of Paris
We live in the 14th arrondissement of Paris and this is a typical day.. running errands past the Marie, strolls down Rue DaGuerre and stopping for ice-cream along the way, and grocery shopping for the daily goûter at Monoprix before finally heading to the park to play until dinner time! Every Tuesday and Friday is our local market day! I will try to catch that next time!

A Walk Around the 15th Arrondissement of Paris
The 15th arrondissement of Paris (XVe arrondissement) is one of the 20 arrondissements of the capital city of France. In spoken French, this arrondissement is referred to as quinzième.
The arrondissement, called Vaugirard, is situated on the left bank of the River Seine. Sharing the Montparnasse district with the 6th and 14th arrondissements, it is the city's most populous arrondissement. The Tour Montparnasse – the tallest skyscraper in Paris – and the neighbouring Gare Montparnasse are both located in the 15th arrondissement, at its border with the 14th. It is also home to the convention center Paris expo Porte de Versailles and the high-rise district of the Front de Seine (or Beaugrenelle). In 2020, the 180 meters high Tour Triangle will house a 120-room hotel and 70,000 square metres of office space.

I tried to google what it could be, and couldn't find much. We decided to take Ollie for a little walk to explore what was going on. What we found was a dead-end street filled with tons of people, a large table covered in wine and food. We're thinking (hoping) it may be some sort of weekly wine & food neighborhood gathering.

A Walk Down Rue Saint-Denis, Paris
Rue Saint-Denis is one of the oldest streets in Paris. Its route was first laid out in the 1st century by the Romans, and then extended to the north in the Middle Ages. From the Middle Ages to the present day, the street has been notorious as a place of prostitution. Its name derives from it being the historic route to Saint-Denis.
The street extends as far as the 1st arrondissement and Rue de Rivoli to the south and as far as the 2nd arrondissement and the boulevard Saint-Denis to the north. It runs parallel to the boulevard de Sébastopol.
The ancient Roman route (Flanders road) leading to Saint-Denis, Pontoise and Rouen it competed with the route de Senlis, but gained an advantage over it with the demolition of the Grand Pont and the development of the royal abbey of Saint-Denis, becoming the triumphal way for royal entries into the capital.
Flanked by houses from 1134 onwards, the street has borne the alternative names of Sellerie de Paris and Sellerie de la Grande Rue (13th century) ; grand'rue de Paris ; grande rue or rue des Saints Innocents et grant chaussée de Monsieur / Monseigneur Saint-Denis (14th century). During the French Revolution, it was known as the rue de Franciade.
The street was one of the centres of the June Rebellion of 1832, immortalised in Victor Hugo's novel Les Misérables, and which is referred to in the book as the Epic of the Rue Saint-Denis

Tour of Montparnasse Tower, Paris
A video tour of our visit to Montparnasse Tower (or as it's called in French, Tour Montparnasse) in Paris, France. Filmed in November 2017. In this walking tour, I take you from nearby Montparnasse Metro station, through the streets, up the elevator / lift and to the viewing deck.
Going up to the Panorimic Observation Deck (or in French, the Observatoire Panoramique de la Tour Montparnasse) on the 56th floor, and especially then going further up to the outdoor rooftop terrace a couple floors above, was just amazing!
I'm not exaggerating when I say that seeing the beautiful bird's eye sky high view over Paris at sunset and at night was my favourite thing we did in Paris during our stay. I'd highly recommend it!
From the top of Montparnasse you can see gorgeous views of the Eiffel Tower, as it glitters and sparkles on the hour every hour, and has it's beam of light that rotates and lights up the surroundings with its beacon at night. You can also see pretty much all the main attractions and tourist sites in Paris from up there if you look out for them, including the Arc de Triomphe, Centre Pompidou, the Seine, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur over in Montmartre, Le Grand Palais, Le Palais Royal, Jardin du Luxemebourg (Luxemburg gardens) and more. I tried to label most of them in the video :)
