Skinhead Farewell, by Richard Allen. BBC TV, 1996.
James Moffat (1922 in Canada, 1993 in England), was an author who wrote under several pen names.
He produced many pulp novels for the United Kingdom publishing house New English Library during the 1970s. Moffat's pen names included Richard Allen, Etienne Aubin (The Terror of the Seven Crypts) and Trudi Maxwell (Diary of A Female Wrestler). Moffat's pulp novels mostly focused on youth subcultures of the late 1960s and 1970s, such as skinheads, hippies and bikers. Moffat often expressed admiration for his subject matter and commented on social issues, mostly from a right wing perspective
The collected works of Richard Allen were reissued in a six volume set by ST Publishing in the 1990s. A BBC TV documentary about his life, Skinhead Farewell, aired in 1996. Allen's formulaic and sensationalist writing style has been imitated by Neoist writer Stewart Home. Mark Sargeant wrote a feature in Scootering Magazine titled The Richard Allen Legacy. An interview titled The Return of Joe Hawkins with publisher George Marshall was in issue seven of Skinhead Times (1992).

Opn. Market Garden Arnhem Nijmegen Capts. T Moffatt Burriss, Peter Carrington XXX Corps Lent
The Battle For Arnhem -- A Bridge Not Far?
Capts. T Moffatt Burriss & Peter Carrington confrontation 18:30hrs Wed 20 Sep 1944
Bristol Community FM Radio show from March 2012

Recent revelations that show Field Marshal Montgomery's Operation Market Garden, in September 1944, aimed at severing German supply lines on the Western Front should have worked. It was early morning in Holland on Sunday 17th September 1944 and as the gliders and paratroopers poured down along a sixty mile corridor to hold the bridges. The furthest bridge from the front line at Arnhem became the focus of attention as and the biggest airborne operation in history unfolded. Was it really 'A Bridge Too Far' as the title of Cornelius Ryan's book and Robert E. Levine's famous film imply? Or could the tanks and ground troops of XXX corps have gotten through to relieve the surrounded British paratroopers? With Arnhem only 10 kilometres, a 30 minute drive away and a virtually clear road ahead -- General Horrocks' M4 Sherman tanks inexplicably halted for 17 hours. By the time the tanks started rolling at lunchtime the next day British paratroopers had run out of ammunition, been forced to surrender and German Panzer 5 & Tiger tank reinforcements had arrived to block the way. The Nijmegen bridgehead was established around 19:00hrs, 3 hours later, at 22:00hrs that evening the British were forced to surrender at the Arnhem bridge. So paratroopers of the 1st Airborne division at Arnhem bridge may have been relieved in the nick of time and war in Europe could have been over six months earlier, by Christmas 1944. We look at Cornelius Ryan's book 'A Bridge Too Far' as well as Joseph E. Levine's film of the same name. Interviews with: Captain T. Moffatt Burriss, author of 'Strike and Hold' who was commander of i-company, 504th regiment, 82nd Airborne division during the legendary Waal river crossing; Robert Kershaw author of 'It Never Snows In September' who interviewed 10th SS Panzer Division Brigadeführer Heinz Harmel, commander of the German defence of the Nijmegen and Arnhem bridges; Major Tony Hibbert who was a senior officer of 2nd batallion 1st brigade, British 1st Airborne division at the Arnhem bridge; Tim Lynch author of 'Operation Market Garden: The Legend of the Waal Crossing'; Sir Brian Urquhart, army intelligence officer in the run-up to the operation he was critical of it and transferred before it began... but later became Deputy Secretary General of the newly formed United Nations.

General Gavin had 1 main objective, the road bridge, but 'Boy' Browning ordered him to secure the Groesbeek Heights BEFORE attempting the bridge. Effectively SABOTAGING the entire operation. Then, when the Nijmegen bridge was taken despite him Browning and Horrocks FAILED to press home the advantage and secure the virtually free route to Arnhem.

A Bridge Not Far - Nijmegen to Arnhem 10km 19:00hrs Wed 20th Nov 1944
And this
Why did they stop for 17 hours when all that stood between Robinson, Carrington and Arnhem was a handful of security pickets? If Carrington and the Grenadier Guards, with the 82nd Airborne companies as infantry support, had carried on the 1st Airborne could have been reinforced and the war could have been over by Christmas 1944.
Capt Peter Carrington from the leading Grenadier Guards' troop of XXX Corps came over the Nijmegen bridge into Lent at 7pm on Wednedsay 20th September 1944 then trundled to a halt for an inexplicable 17 hour wait.
This 'pause' was used by Heinz Harmel & the Germans to reinforce with armour, what was initially an undefended route because 10 SS Panzer Division commander Heinz Harmel had been planning to blow up the bridge. At 2pm on Thursday 21st Carrington and XXX Corps finally advanced toward a, by then, long lost Arnhem bridge.
Capt. T. Moffatt Burriss describes this encounter in his own words (2012)
You can buy the complete film A Bridge Too Far here and elsewhere
Capt. Carrington, General Horrocks & the rest have come up with several reasons for the 17 hour long wait...
WE MUST WAIT FOR INFANTRY SUPPORT - T Moffatt Burriss has stated that he, Major Cook and Colonel Tucker all offered to be Carrington's infantry support
WE HAVE NO FUEL TO REACH ARNHEM the Grenadier Guards Sherman tanks - roughly 40 of them - had enough fuel for the 7 mile trip from Lent to Arnhem
WE ARE OUT OF AMMUNITION no they had been fuelled and armed in the closing stages of the fight for the south side of the bridge - this possibly was the case for the Irish Guards who were also potentially going to be formed into a battle group for Arnhem since some of them had provided covering fire for the 82nd Airborne Waal river crossing
WE CANNOT ADVANCE IN DARKNESS since the biggest danger was direct fire from anti tank guns, assault guns and tanks the darkness would help - also Horrocks was said to be a champion of the Night Tank Assault - but not tonight

It Never Snows In September, the German view of Market Garden by Robert Kershaw
Boats ordered by the 82nd Airborne the day before failed to arrive until afternoon and a hasty daylight assault crossing was ordered. At about 15:00, the 3rd Battalion, 504th PIR, commanded by Major Julian Cook, began their assault across the Waal. The American paratroopers were rowed across the Waal by members of C/307th EN BN in 26 canvas assault boats provided by the British.[113][page needed] The American unit had no training on the British-made boats. A shortage of paddles required some troopers to paddle the craft with rifle butts. About half the boats survived the crossing under heavy fire, and eleven survived the first two crossings. Before the day was over, C/307th crossed the Waal five times while ferrying across two battalions of the 504th.[114][page needed] The surviving paratroopers then assaulted across 200 metres (218 yards) of open ground on the far bank and seized the north end of the bridge. The costly attack was nicknamed Little Omaha in reference to Omaha Beach. German forces withdrew from both ends of the bridge which was then rushed by Guards tanks and the 2nd Battalion, 505th PIR, securing the bridge at 18:30, D+4.

WHERE YOU’RE MEANT TO BE - Trailer (2016) AIDAN MOFFAT [HD]
Paul Fegan’s first feature documentary follows Scottish cult-pop raconteur and former Arab Strap frontman Aidan Moffat as he tours Scotland in 2014, performing his modern re-interpretations of old folk songs.
It was meant to be a tour that celebrated communities and lore. But just before they hit the road, Fegan met Sheila Stewart: a 79-year-ol d force of nature, the last in a line of travelling folk royalty, and a balladeer whose life – and unexpected death, in 2014 – upturned Moffat's folk assumptions, and diverted the course of Fegan's film.
The ensuing film is a warm-hearted journey through music, mortality, landscape and time. It's also a moving, wry and enlightening depiction of two of Scotland's most distinct and vital voices, as they cross paths (and words): Moffat believes Scotland's oldest songs are ripe for re-working against a contemporary urban backdrop. Stewart does not.
The film includes the final interview and performance footage of Sheila Stewart, the last in line of a celebrated family of gypsy travellers, the Stewarts of Blair, who date back to the 12th Century. Says Paul Fegan of his initial encounter with Sheila Stewart: “When I met Sheila, I was blown away. She was fierce, and passionate, and brilliant company – and I loved her stories about her life, and family, and songs. As soon as I introduced Sheila to Aidan, I realised that Aidan had met his match, and it quickly became apparent that their relationship, and their quiet humour – not to mention their conflicting beliefs as to how music should be treated – had to be at the very heart of the film.”
The cinema tour will kick off with a full band performance from Moffat and the musical stars of the film, including James Graham (The Twilight Sad), Jenny Reeves (Bdy_Prts), Stevie Jones (Sound of Yell), Michael John McCarthy, and traditional bothy ballad singers Joe Aitken, Geordie Murison & Danny Couper – at Sheffield Doc/Fest on 12th June.
The event tour that follows will take the film to 18 cities and towns throughout the UK where screenings will be followed by a Q&A with director and producer Paul Fegan and a solo performance by Aidan Moffat.
WHERE YOU’RE MEANT TO BE will be screening in 40 cinemas from 17 June, for full listings go to whereyouremeanttobe.com. The film will be available on iTunes 1 July 2016.

UK: Leftist-Muslim Alliance Fracturing Over LGBT Training in British Schools (David Wood)
The alliance between leftists and Muslims is fracturing in the U.K. following the introduction of the No Outsiders program (championed by Andrew Moffat), which aims to teach school children about the LGBT (LGBTQ, LGBTQ+) community. Protests erupted in Birmingham, leading many schools to suspend the program until after Ramadan. Charges of Islamophobia and homophobia are flying back and forth. Will the communities learn to coexist peacefully, or will the leftist-Muslim coalition suffer irreparable harm? David Wood discusses the latest reports from BBC News.

Teaching children diversity and tolerance | Andrew Moffat, Birmingham | Global Teacher Prize
Andrew teaches at Parkfield Community School near the deprived Bordesley Green area of Birmingham, which is home to a considerable mix of ethnicities and where over nine in ten pupils speak English as an additional language. His “No Outsiders” programme teaches inclusiveness and diversity.
Andrew has extended this ethos to parents through the use of parent/child workshops and he has extended the programme, with schools taking forward “No Outsiders” in many cities across the UK. Andrew now also uses “No Outsiders” as a tool to reduce the potential for radicalization.
Andrew also runs a “Parkfield Ambassadors” after-school club that creates opportunities for children at his school where 99% of students are Muslim to meet others of different races, religions and cultures around Birmingham.
In May 2016 Ofsted awarded the Parkfield School ‘Outstanding’ status, recognizing Andrew’s project as a strength, saying: “The provision for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is a strength and permeates the school’s work. This is an inclusive school that celebrates diversity.”
In November 2017 Andrew was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen for services to equality and diversity in education.
The No Outsiders inclusivity and tolerance message has never been more timely, as Government statistics released in October showed in 2017/18, there were 94,098 hate crime offences recorded by the police in England and Wales, an increase of 17% compared with the previous year. This continues the upward trend in recent years with the number of hate crimes recorded by the police having more than doubled since 2012/13 (from 42,255 to 94,098 offences; an increase of 123%). While increases in hate crime over the last five years have been driven by improvements in crime recording by the police, there has been spikes in hate crime following certain events such as the EU Referendum and the terrorist attacks in 2017.
