18 Gangster Museum in Khayelitsha (Khaltsha tv)
The first of its kind in Cape Town - the innovative 18 Gangster living museum. The creation of the museum is to help the youths of South Africa better understand gangsterism and the prison system. 18 Gangster Museum aims to provide a positive alternative for those heading down the path of gangsterism by giving susceptible youths a hands-on look into what that life is like.

Former gangster starts museum to showcase dangers of crime
In Cape Town, in South Africa, gangsterism is a major problem. Children as young as 12 are enticed to join gangs and start a life of crime from a young age. One social entrepreneur is however tackling the problem head on, and raising awareness of the risks. CCTV's Julie Scheier has more.

Wandisile Nqeketho: 18 Gangster Museum Is A Living Museum For Those Who Want To Live
Khayelitsha's Wandisile Nqeketho is a passionate social entrepreneur who wants to improve the conditions of the township he is from. A Mail & Guardian 200 most influential young South Africans nominee, he co-founded 18 Gangster Museum with Siyabulela Daweti in 2016.
18 Gangster Museum is on a mission to use innovative and creative thinking to address the plague of gangsterism affecting local, low-income communities. The first of it's kind in Africa, the organisation makes use of living museums and cultural tourism to steer young people away from a life of gangsterism and crime. Gangster Museum exhibitions are put together by ex-offenders, who also share their real-life experiences of being in gangs and prison, as well as positive stories of how they have turned their lives around.
Wandisile spoke to the Heavy Chef Raw Community at Cape Town Startup Week about what led him to the living museum concept, and the work he and his team are doing to provide youth with a positive alternative to life behind bars.
