The 18th arrondissement neighborhood, known as Butte-Montmartre, is located on the right bank of the River Seine. It is mostly known for hosting the district of Montmartre which contains a hill known for its artistic history, the Bateau-Lavoir where Pablo Picasso, George Braque, and Amedeo Modigliani lived and worked in early 20th century, the house of music diva Dalida, the Padlock covered Fence, Square Louise-Michel and other (historic) features, and the prominent Sacre Coeur basilica which sits atop the hill.

Living the Montmartre experience, Paris. The French art of living.
Montmartre is 130 meters above the city of Paris’ 18th arrondissement. Paris’ legendary Montmartre was once the place where artists such Picasso, Zola and Renoir lived and worked. Montmartre was outside the city limits of Paris, and was exempt from city taxes, and so the modest earning art lovers of Paris would flock to this hill, where there a breathtaking view of the city. Now home to vibrant cafés, restaurants and lively music venues, Montmartre has retained some of its original spirit. You can still feel that carefree and pure joie-de-vivre, a certain enjoyment and appreciation of life’s small pleasures which I find irresistible... as simple as sipping a cup of coffee under the sunshine on a cold day, a long conversation with a good friend, watching the painters create their art, watching the tourists have their portraits made and strolling though the narrow streets while reminiscing the past.

When you first walk into the apartment you have a lovely well equipped kitchen off to your right.
We have fitted the kitchen with a washing machine, a dishwasher, and combination microwave oven making it a very functional and practical space.
You will find all that you need in our cupboards to prepare delicious meals to entice and delight your friends and family or visit the market in rue Lepic and the specialty shops in rue des Abbesses and pick up some great food.
Enter the cozy living room where images of Paris and Montmartre adorn the walls and help to create the mood for embarking on your Parisian adventure. You are in Paris in your Parisian home. And what is a Parisian home without its decorative fireplace?
The living room also has a half-moon dining table which folds out to seat 4 people.
We have put in a sofa bed that sleeps 2 comfortably. The mattress is thick - No more backaches from those terribly thin sofa bed mattresses.
Relax after your long day of sightseeing and watch a DVD or tune into international news on the cable television. We have also installed wireless high speed internet access for your laptop computer and have left for your use free of charge, a mac computer, so you are never too far from loved ones.
Enter the bedroom where youwill find a comfortable double-sized bed fit for a queen. You may just be tempted to spend the day in bed.
Sit at the vanity table to write your postcards or linger in bed planning out your day of sightseeing. You may also make use of our Mac computer to check your email or look up Paris info (we've even provided you with a few useful bookmarks)

Montmartre continues to attract Parisians and tourists alike, with its bistros, brasseries, boulangeries (bakeries), sidewalk cafes and boutiques, dotting its streets.
At the rue Lepic market you will find all that your heart desires in gastronomic fare and quick eats.
What visit to Montmartre would be complete without a visit to Sacre Coeur which is just minutes from the apartment.
Made famous in numerous films and songs, view the red painted mill of the Moulin Rouge where you can still see a good old fashioned Cancan.
The beloved quartier of Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Renoir & countless other great painters and artists, is yours not just for a moment but for a life time.
The apartment is located right in the heart of the rue Lepic market but no need to worry about street noise as all the apartment's windows are facing the courtyard
You are between two metro stations here, Abbesses and Blanche (lines 12 and 2 respectively), and have various bus lines available to wiz you around Paris in a short time. You can also make use of Metro Place de Clichy where you can not only use the metro but also use the buses 80 to get you to The Champs Elysee and the Eiffel Tower or the 95 for Saint Germain, and the Louvre

Vineyards, 18th Arrondissement | Paris Rental Connections
The apartment is in the trendy village atmosphere of Montmartre: just a few minutes walk to the Sacre Coeur with its spectacular views of Paris, where 'Amelie' was filmed. Close to museums, theaters, and the tiny vineyards of Montmartre (the only ones left in Paris). There are great French delis, an outdoor market open six days a week, as well as charming restaurants and cafes.
Discretely tucked away from the main street and located on the first floor (one above ground-level) this well-balanced, calm and spacious apartment measures 36M2 or 400 square foot. It has an open plan see through arrangement from the entrance hall all the way to the end of apartment and all main rooms have tall French windows with hanging potted plants overlooking an open garden courtyard. The ivory walls are hung with vibrant paintings and the flooring is antique oak wood.
The small, practical and fully-equipped kitchen which opens out to the living room and dining area has everything you need to cook and eat with, however enticing the many local restaurants in the area!
The comfortable living room with modern furnishings, has ambient lamps and a stereo CD player with a selection of CD's. The extra long sofa (2 metres by 90 cm) can also be used as a single bed.
In the corner is the dining area with table and chairs for four (extendable), overlooking the silver birch tree in the courtyard. If you want a change of view you can also watch cable TV and films on the flat screen TV from the dining table to the bedroom and there is a selection of DVD's for your use.
The bedroom has a double bed, a large cupboard, tasteful paintings, a desk and French window. The bathroom is modern with bath, powerful wall shower (in bath), basin and toilet. Towels and French soap are provided.
There is a telephone with free international calls available (you can call the US, Australia and most of Europe free to landlines).

Set in a quiet cobble-stone street it's a minute away from the metro station Lamarck-Caulaincourt (line 12), and bus No: 80 taking you to the Grands Magasins (Galleries Lafayette, Printemps) and the Champs Elysees - you can also hop on to the Montmartrobus which takes you around the best sites in Montmartre.
In the immediate area there is a wonderful selection of little grocery shops, butchers, boulangeries, delis, fruit and vegetable shops, charcuteries, newsagents and supermarkets as well as lots of lovely restaurtants and cafes.

Paris 4K - Quartier Pigalle - Driving Downtown
Thursday morning drive in the Paris by night district of Paris. The video starts in the Quartier Pigalle, home to the famous Moulin Rouge. The video continues along the main Boulevard de Clichy, known for its nightlife, cabarets, shops, shows, and bars, and ends by the Arc de Triomphe along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, one of the most well known streets in the world.
Pigalle is well known to tourists who want to experience Paris by night. It is home to some of Paris' most famous cabarets (the Moulin Rouge made famous by Hollywood). The Divan du Monde and the Moulin Rouge, a world-famous cabaret, are both located in Pigalle.
The area to the south of Place Pigalle is devoted to the retail of musical instruments and equipment, especially for popular music. A section of the rue de Douai consists solely of stores selling guitars, drums and musical accessories. Artists such as Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh and Maurice Neumont also once lived here.
Pigalle is an area in Paris around the Place Pigalle, on the border between the 9th and the 18th arrondissements. The Divan du Monde and the Moulin Rouge, a world-famous cabaret, are both located in Pigalle.
The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile (Triumphal Arch of the Star), is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the center of Place Charles de Gaulle, formerly named Place de l'Étoile — the étoile or star of the juncture formed by its twelve radiating avenues. Inspired by the Arch of Titus in Rome, Italy, the Arc de Triomphe has an overall height of 50 metres (164 ft), width of 45 m (148 ft), and depth of 22 m (72 ft).
The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is an avenue in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, France, 1.9 kilometres (1.2 mi) long and 70 metres (230 ft) wide, running between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Charles de Gaulle, where the Arc de Triomphe is located. It is known for its theatres, cafés, and luxury shops, and as the finish of the Tour de France cycle race.
The name is French for the Elysian Fields, the paradise for heroes in Greek mythology. Champs-Élysées is widely regarded to be one of the most recognizable avenues in the world.

Montmartre is a large hill in Paris's 18th arrondissement. It is 130 metres high and gives its name to the surrounding district, part of the Right Bank in the northern section of the city. The historic district established by the City of Paris in 1995 is bordered by rue Caulaincourt and rue Custine on the north; rue de Clignancourt on the east; boulevard de Clichy and boulevard de Rochechouart to the south. containing sixty hectares.Montmartre is primarily known for the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur on its summit and as a nightclub district. The other, older, church on the hill is Saint Pierre de Montmartre, which claims to be the location at which the Jesuit order of priests was founded.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, during the Belle Époque, many artists had studios or worked in or around Montmartre, including Salvador Dalí, Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissarro and Vincent van Gogh. Montmartre is also the setting for several hit films. This site is served by metro, with line 2 stations at Anvers, Pigalle and Blanche and line 12 stations at Pigalle, Abbesses, Lamarck - Caulaincourt and Jules Joffrin.
