19 KAREN renovation
Borrowing its name from the street address, 19 KAREN on the Gold Coast has since become one of South-east Queensland's finest contemporary art galleries. The gallery stages monthly exhibitions and events, and was established in 2008 by Mariam Arcilla and Terri Lew to provide on-going professional development and career opportunities for Australian and International emerging artists. These images showed the 2-month transformation from a dishevelled, low usage warehouse into a fully functional artspace with five gallery sections, for the use of exhibitions, workshops, talks, fashion parades and creative functions.
Thanks to Mark @ Duke Media for images.
Artworks seen here are from Tales from the Cold Ghost III, curated by tinygold, 2008.
