Wartime Bridgend 2019
The sun shone on this quaint town of Bridgend in South Wales for their Wartime Bridgend event on Saturday.
Hundreds of re-enactors turned the town into a piece of the 1940s as they celebrated that era and the D-day landings.
A replica of a Spitfire was on display in the town square, and just down the street at the cenotaph, they held a memorial service.
And nearby there was a temporary stage for the afternoon's entertainment including a speech by a lookalike of the great Sir Winston Churchill.
Gazebos lined the streets for the re-enactors to show off their military weapons, uniforms and give information about them.
Two Victorian Policemen with a French Gendarme were patrolling the area in splendid uniforms of that era and were very busy with photo shoots with the public.
The Mayor of Bridgend Cllr. Stuart Baldwin opened the day's event by thanking all re-enactors for their support and the organizers for their hard work on putting on this show in remembrance of those who made it possible for us.
