Crazy 20 lane road and bizarre airplane cafe in an abandoned city | Naypyidaw, Myanmar
This is it! Our crazy adventure of seeing the empty 20 lane road outside of Parliament in the Ghost city (and also it's capital!) in Naypitaw, Myanmar. Bonus content: Our lunch in one of Asia's weirdest cafes ... a gutted airplane!? Overall bizarre factor: 9.5/10. We would love to return to this abandoned city to explore it more. So, would you go? Have you been? Tell us all about it in the comments below!

Incredible EMPTY 20 Lane Highway - Naypyidaw Myanmar Travel Vlog
Naypyidaw is the recently built capital of Myanmar. It's hardly a tourist destination and I have no idea why. It has little attractions and yet it is a fascinating place, boasting an incredible 20 lane highway with only the odd motorbike travelling through. This was filmed at sunrise, and what an amazing experience it was. I have noticed how little it has been documented so wanted to upload this.
Deserted 20 Lane Highway - In Trouble With Police | Naypyidaw, Myanmar
Supposedly one of the most deserted cities in the world, we left Yangon and made our way to Myanmar's capital city, Naypyidaw. We first came to learn about Naypyidaw after watching the deserted 20-lane highway on Netflix's Dark Tourist, so we had to see it for ourselves! But it didn't exactly go to plan...

Naypyidaw | Exploring Myanmar's bizarre empty capital by drone | Coconuts TV
EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE: Just a few years ago it was illegal to film government ministries in Myanmar’s bizarre secretive capital, Naypyidaw. Recently, those rules were loosened but aerial photography falls into a grey area. Before things change we took to the skies over Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (The Assembly of the Union) to see what the vast capital complex looks like from a bird’s eye view in this exclusive footage.

NAY PYI TAW: strangest city in the world (where is everyone!?) | Myanmar Travel
Today we explored Myanmar's new capital city: Nay Pyi Taw. This place is considered one of the strangest cities in the world. It's so quiet, we hardly saw anyone! There are huge highways with barely a single car on them, including a 20-lane highway that runs past the presidential palace which was EMPTY!
We also visited the Uppatasanti Pagoda which is a replica of the famous Shwedagon Pagoda in the old capital of Yangon.

Yangon - Napyithaw highway - a memorable drive
The Yangon - Napyithaw - Mandalay expressway is one of the Myanmar's landmark roads. The 367 km stretch between Yangon to Napyithaw offers a pleasant drive; the highway is four-lane in most parts.
Maximum speed limit allowed is 100 km per hour, however speed limit in practice goes beyond that. But driving on this road is quite safe even in night time as the divider in between is too wide, the light coming from the opposite direction cars hardly can obstacle your view.
Moreover the landscape is very scenic on both sides, with few villages coming on the way. The road passes through plains, the hills are kept at bay like boundaries.

#GLAadventure explores the isolated capital of Myanmar - Naypyidaw
Team #GLAadventure reaches the capital city of Myanmar, Naypyidaw, which is famous for its 20 lanes highway and vast, lonely roads. According to the grapevine, these magnificent boulevards were built to enable aircrafts to land on, in the event of anti-government protests or other disturbances. Post this apocalyptic experience, the team heads towards Bagan, which is known as the Valley of Temples, it is one of the world's greatest Archeological sites and is home to the largest and densest concentration of Buddhist temples, pagodas, stupas. After exploring Bagan, next on #GLAadventure's itinerary is the Irrawaddy River cruise. The #GLAadventure journey continues with Ishan going to Mandalay and coming across one of the oldest bridges in the world, the U-Bein Bridge.
