Den O' Mains Ponds Dundee :- DJI Phantom 2 Drone + GoPro Hero 3
Aerial video from a drone of Den O' Mains Ponds in Caird Park Dundee, Scotland. (Just across from Mains Castle).
After releasing my video of Trottick Ponds last week I had a few request to do the Den O' Mains ponds which is just across the road.
Before going I done some research and found an article last year to show the state of the place but it seems to have been tidied up.
Donated by Sir James Caird, one of Dundee's local benefactors, the park includes Mains Castle and Den o' Mains. Mains Castle was renovated in the 1980's through a government scheme for the unemployed. The park is ideal for active recreation and walking with 18 and 9 hole golf courses, velodrome, athletic track and winter sports pitches. The Gelly Burn cuts through the park and feeds the ponds in Den o Mains. The wooded Den provides habitat for red squirrels, orchids and kingfishers. Other paths take visitors to see old oak avenues and grand old copper beaches.

Flying my Phantom 2 quadcopter at Mains castle Dundee, Scotland.
I was here 1 week ago and lost all my footage. Went back this time and crashed into a very high tree and damaged the drone!!!
Parts have already been ordered to repair and get into the air asap.
Could have been much worse and at least I got it all back.
I am not going to film here again, I think the ghosts of the castle caused this!!!

REMEMBRANCE DAY
Black Watch Memorial, Powrie Brae
A monument to the north of Dundee off the main road from Dundee to Forfar, at the bottom of Powrie Brae, the Black Watch Memorial was erected in memory of those 440 men recruited from Dundee and Angus to serve in the Black Watch (4th and 5th Battalions) who died during the Second World War. Unveiled in 1959 by HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother (1900 - 2002), in front of 3000 people, the bronze memorial takes the form of a soldier in Black Watch service uniform looking down over the city. The memorial was moved during the mid-1980s because its original site had become isolated by the building of the new A90 dual-carriageway. Following a £12,000 restoration, managed by the Black Watch Association, the memorial was re-dedicated in 2009 by HRH Prince Charles, the Duke of Rothesay, in his position as Royal Colonel of the Black Watch Battalion.

The wind had died down and the River Tay was like a big pond with no waves.
The new house getting built on the Kingoodie Pier will have amazing 360 views.
Kingoodie (Scottish Gaelic: Ceann Gaothach or Scottish Gaelic: Ceann na Gaoithe windy head(land)) is a hamlet about 4 miles south west of Dundee, but in the region of Perth and Kinross, Scotland. The shore is easily accessible and close to the Firth of Tay.[1]
Quarries close to Kingoodie supplied the town with building stone for a number of centuries. This stone was important for the building of sea walls to protect the town from the tide and the harbour works.
The population is approximately 60 people (as of 2009).

An interactive 360 panorama of the City of Dundee, in Scotland, United Kingdom.
We have filmed using drones in all the landmark sites around the city and turned them into an amazing interactive tour. Along the way you will find all of the famous spots and links to more information as well as lots of great pictures and videos to complement the experience!
The tour includes Tay Rail Bridge, Swannie Ponds, Broughty Ferry and Trottick ponds so far and we will be adding to this weekly with over 50 locations already decided.

Kinnoull Hill Tower Perth :- DJI Phantom 2 Drone + GoPro Hero 3
Video shot at Kinnoull Hill, Perth, Scotland on 21st January 2015. The building is actually a tower and not a castle and was built in 1829 and has stunning views over the River Tay.
To get there I had to park at the bottom and walk 1 mile up the hill but it was worth it.
The summit has become well known as a location for suicides. In January 2002, Daniela Smith, a 31-year-old mother-of-two, pushed her two infant children off the hill's summit while they were strapped in their pushchair, before throwing herself off. Their bodies were discovered on a ledge about 100 feet below the summit on 15 January.
