Hanbok Rentals, Gyeongbokgung Palace & Boys Over Flowers Musical
Hello family and friends! It's Dia and I am back with another KVLOG. My friends and I went to Seoul to take a mini spring photoshoot at the Gyeongbokgung Palace. We rented our hanboks from Oneday Hanbok (Anguk Station) which is located about 5-10 minutes down the street from the palace. We made a reservation prior to our arrival so we can get a guaranteed spot. As you can see in the video, the place was really packed, especially considering that Oneday Hanbok is fairly a small building. The employees at Oneday Hanbok all spoke English and were very friendly and helpful. Afterwards, the girls and attended the Boys Over Flowers musical. Unfortunately, we were terribly late due to thinking the musical was located elsewhere and taking the taxi to being stuck in traffic. Overall, we had a great day and we can't wait for more adventures!!

In this video, we visit Bukchon Hanok Village (Bokchon-dong). This is a traditional Korean neighborhood with lots of cute cafes, shops, and picturesque streets where you can stroll wearing a hanbok and take photos. Bukchon is famous for its picturesque streets and hanok homes.
Bukchon Hanok Village is located between Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace. It's streets are lined with traditional hanok homes. Unlike other hanok villages (such as Namsangol Hanok Village), Bukchon was not created for tourists. It is a residential neighborhood that is inhabited by real people.
In this video, we just do a quick tour of one street in Bukchon. We pass by a craft fair, take in the atrsy vibe of the village, and I talk about my thoughts on handmade items. At the end we enjoy some kawaii cotton candy! This is not your traditional tour of Bukchon in terms of looking at the homes. I will return later with a video of all the homes and more atmosphere, cute cafes and shops!

The Gyeongbokgung Palace part was all over the place cause we weren't feeling well (lol we were dehydrated af) but pagkatapos kumain TADA, okay na. Even though it was really hot, we came thru with wearing the hanbok, and it was so fun.
We had really little footage of lotte world kase bawal mag dala ng camera on rides. Nag enjoy lang kami at sumakay sa kung ano anong rides. We also did some grocery shopping for pasalubongs at 4 boxes ang kinalabasan hoho

Gyeongbokgung in a hanbok
One of our highest priorities in Seoul was to wear a hanbok, which is the Korean traditional dress. Several photo studios across Seoul offer sessions, which includes hanbok rental, make-up and styling as well as a number of edited photos, but because of Seollal (Korean New Year) and short notice, we couldn’t find any, which could accommodate us.
Instead we chose to rent a hanbok from a shop we found close to Anguk Station. It was only 10,000KRW for two hours, and there were plenty of different patterns and colors to choose among.
From Anguk Station, we were only a short walk from Gyeongbokgung, which is the biggest of the palaces in Seoul. Gyeongbokgung was built in 1395, but it’s been fully restored to its former condition, and it’s a beautiful sight.

There is a few place that you can rent and wear Hanbok in Seoul, this including the Gyeongbokgung Palace...The price starts at KRW10,000 for 2 hours (basic attire), Premium attire will cost you around KRW20,000 for 2 hours...
You also can rent it for whole day for about KRW 25,000 - 40,000 (depends on the shop you went)

Shopping in Myeongdong, wearing a hanbok for the first time! | Seoul-Searching Vlog pt.1

Cobi and I went to Seoul earlier this month to celebrate his 33rd birthday. We stayed at a cozy Airbnb and toured the city for eight days -- too short for our liking. We wanted to stay longer! Not only was it our first time going to Korea, it was also my first time vlogging and editing too! Please stay tuned for part two! :D

▸▸ Myeongdong Station (subway line 4), exit 6
Skincare and cosmetic mecca!
▸▸ N Seoul Tower - walking (err, climbing) distance from Myeongdong. We just crossed the street and followed the tower!
Cable car roundtrip ticket costs 8,500 KRW
☼ Day 2 ☼
▸▸ Anguk Station, (subway line 3), exit 2

▸▸ Hanbok rental - Hanbok That Day (Bukchon Hanok Village Store)
I paid 20,000 KRW to rent a fusion-style hanbok for 3 hours. Traditional / basic hanboks are cheaper. I believe prices start at 10,000 KRW.
▸▸ Gyeongbokgung - ticket costs 1,500 KRW (free if you're wearing a hanbok)
We entered from the side of the palace since we came from Anguk. We passed by the Bukchon Hanok Village for some photos first. We saw the main palace last.
▸▸ Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup - located at Bukchon
The congee and samgyetang cost 15,000 KRW each, but definitely worth the splurge. We didn't feel it was that expensive because we were ripped off at a pojangmacha the night before. We paid more at a tent restaurant in Myeongdong than in this Michelin-starred restaurant. smh.
☼ Day 3 ☼
▸▸ Dongdaemun Design Plaza (subway line 2/4/5), exit 1
We also went to Lotte Fitin to have lunch. It's just across from DDP. No videos because I was feeling too hot that morning. Had to buy new clothes to survive the day without going back to our Airbnb. Lesson learned: don't always trust Google Weather lol.
▸▸ Ewha Womans University (subway line 2), exit 2 or 3
Best place to shop and take a coffee break! Women's clothes are trendy and definitely affordable. There are two shops at the station that sell many Korea-made clothes worth 5,000 KRW and 10,000 KRW. You will also find the same clothes at Hongdae and Dongdaemun, but prices there usually start at 15,000 KRW. (I'll post a haul video of the clothes I bought in Seoul soon!)
▸▸ Paik's Coffee for affordable coffee and teas, perfect when walking around Ewha and Edae (but there are many of this shop around Seoul, I think)
▸▸ Hongdae (Hongik University Street) (subway line 2), exit 9
Best place to hangout if you want to enjoy street performances or if you want to party. We didn't go to bars/clubs though. Not our kind of thing.
▸▸ Yookssam Naengmyeon Hongdae
We tried out their chilled buckwheat noodle soup, bibimbap and charcoal broiled pork. Each set (noodles/rice + pork) costs 6,500 KRW.
▸▸ Sulbing Hongdae
BEST. BINGSU. EVER. We got injeolmi bingsu for just 7,000 KRW! You might have to wait in line though. The place can be pretty jam-packed with students and tourists. Completely understandable.
