Motivational Talk - Overcoming Great Odds - Mary Dague (US Army Vet & Purple Heart Recipient)
Veterans Incubator for Better Entrepreneurship (VIBE) - Spring 2016 Brown Bag Series
To kick-off the series, Mary Dague, a U.S. Army Veteran, was a member the Army’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team. On November 4, 2007 she lost both her arms, after getting a call for an IED that the Iraq army had picked up. “I got it in the truck and I laid it down in the there, and it started to roll off, and I went to grab it and it detonated”. But despite the injuries Mary has pushed on serving as a mentor to other wounded warriors and civilians alike. When asked about the experience you will hear how grateful she is to be able to share her story and you will quickly learn of her wacky sense of humor, her compassion, and her new sense of purpose.
