Places to see in ( Kihei - USA )
Kihei is a small town of 21,000 located on Maui's South Shore. It is the most populous town in South Maui, with a large supply of hotels, condos, shops and houses. Kihei is known to be one of the hottest places to stay on Maui (temperature-wise) because it doesn't get the breezes that other parts of the island get (perfect for that winter getaway).
Kihei does get a strong trade wind in the summer that can blow as hard as 25 mph every afternoon. This is usually during the months of April till September and early October. May through November averages 88 degrees. The coolest months of the year are December through April when the high averages 82 degrees. Kihei gets only 12 inches of rain per year, most of it falling in the December-January-February timeframe. Expect sunny skies and warm weather year-round.
Maui's main airport, Kahului Airport, will be the primary access to the island. From Kahului, follow the signs to Kihei, and it should lead you to Highway 311 (Mokulele Highway). Once you reach Kihei, it becomes Highway 31 (Pi'ilani Highway). It is about 12 miles (20 km) from the Airport to Kihei and it will take 20-30 minutes to drive.
Kihei is a sprawling place, strung out along the coast for several miles but never more than a mile wide. The main road north-south along the ocean is South Kihei Road and it contains almost all the hotels, condos, restaurants, shops and beaches. If you are staying in the area and don't mind a bit of walking, you can probably get to most things you need without needing a car. If you do drive, the strip malls have their usual adequate free parking.
With miles of strip malls, condo complexes and upscale resorts, Kihei and Wailea look too commercial and overbuilt at first glance. But dig deeper. You’ll find a mixed plate of scenery and adventure, stretching from Kihei to Makena and beyond, that’s truly unique. You can snorkel reefs teeming with turtles, kayak to remote bays or sail in an outrigger canoe. The coral gardens are so rich you can dive from the shore. And the beaches? Undeniably glorious, whether you’re looking to relax beneath a resort cabana or to discover your own pocket of sand. Add reliably sunny weather, quiet coastal trails and a diverse dining scene and South Maui’s a pretty irresistible place to land.
( Kihei - USA ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Kihei . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Kihei - USA

Blue Hawaiian Helicopters - Maui Kihei Wailea Beaches Review
Tour with total confidence. There's simply no argument: Blue Hawaiian is Hawaii's #1 helicopter tour company. Blue Hawaiian's aircraft maintenance technicians have received the FAA's coveted Certificate of Excellence, Diamond Award every year since 1998. No other helicopter tour company in Hawaii has ever received this critical recognition. Blue Hawaiian was honored by the FAA for a record 12th straight year in January, 2009, at a ceremony in Honolulu, and the FAA further honored Blue Hawaiian with the very first Certificate of Excellence, Platinum Award. And Blue Hawaiian is the only helicopter tour company in Hawaii certified by the Department of Defense.
Welcome to the Blue Skies of Hawaii. Blue is the only helicopter tour company serving all four major Hawaiian islands: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island. That means wherever you go in the Islands of Aloha, you know exactly how to get the world's finest aerial tours: just remember the color of the sky.
Customer Reviews
Absolutely worth every penny. Emery was a great pilot and tour guide. Can't wait for our next visit to do another part of the islands
I am continually impressed with the professionalism of Blue Hawaiian. Your operations set the standard for helicopter tours for safety and precision. Well done.
Erik and the staff were fantastic and the tour was AMAZING!!! Extraordinary way to see the island. I highly recommend it. I wanted to go right back up.
We don't just operate the best equipment, we help develop it. From the ultra-quiet, spacious, and powerful 21st-century Eco-Star helicopter to the breakthrough Garmin G500H technology, which gives our pilots astonishing three-dimensional synthetic vision terrain awareness in less than optimal weather; from our pioneering of multi-camera in-flight video, to designing vastly improved cockpit air-conditioning—Blue Hawaiian is always at the forefront of leading-edge innovations for your safety, comfort, and enjoyment. Because when it comes to our guests, good enough is never enough.
The finest pilots in the sky. Blue Hawaiian prides itself on hand-picking only the finest and most experienced pilots—the absolute cream of the profession—and every one of them is a State of Hawaii Certified Tour Guide. Blue Hawaiian is also the only helicopter tour company in Hawaii with its own state-of-the-art Flight Simulator, and the only one that puts its pilots through annual factory and FAA recurrent training.
You'll be a star, or at least fly like one. When you choose Blue, you're choosing Hollywood's first-call helicopter tour company for blockbuster aerial photography. In addition to the upcoming mega-releases Battleship and Pirates of the Caribbean IV, our pilots have flown aerial photography for Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, Tropic Thunder, Pirates of the Caribbean III, Crimson Tide, George of the Jungle, Honeymoon in Vegas, and numerous other major motion pictures, not to mention television shoots for MTV, The Food Channel, National Geographic, the Weather Channel, Wheel of Fortune and more. If these top professionals trust Blue Hawaiian with their multi-million dollar productions, perhaps Hollywood knows something you should know?
Living Aloha, every day. All of us in Hawaii have a responsibility to uphold the islands' proud tradition of hospitality. Years ago, the late cultural pioneer George Kanahele (author of Ku Kanaka: Stand Tall) showed us the incredible potential of using our helicopters as flying classrooms. We took that mission very seriously and since then have invested in Hawaiiana education for all of our employees. Our pilots offer our guests insightful and accurate information about Hawaiian culture, flora and fauna, history, geology and place names. Our guests are able to ask their pilot questions through our proprietary two-way in-flight communication system, which enhances their involvement, and when they share their knowledge with their friends and family upon returning home, the outreach extends. It's an honor to do our part to help preserve Hawaii's precious native culture.
You don't have to take our word for it. Only Blue gives you the confidence of consistent and repeated endorsements and awards from the most important international, national, and local organizations in the travel industry: National Geographic Magazine, Frommer's Hawaii, The Travel Channel; the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, the Tour Operators Program of Safety, Helicopters Association International, and more. Blue Hawaiian is also the local Hawaii favorite, regularly voted the #1 Air Tour by the local readers of Hawaii Tribune-Herald, West Hawaii Today, North Hawaii News, Kauai People and MidWeek Kauai, and The Maui News.

Cadari2 Visits! Lahaina, Maui! Former Capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom
Lahaina was a neat historical town. I was amazed it was so important given its location on the far side of the island, but guess that shows the importance of the sea to the kingdom at the time. Lanai and Moloka'i can be seen from the port, and it is roughly in the middle of the main islands of the island chain, so I think it makes sense. Maui is beautiful anyway, so I highly recommend a trip here to anyone visiting Hawai'i. Don't just stay in Honolulu.

About “Summer of ’77 Keepables” –
“Summer of ’77 Keepables” is a collection of home recordings of some of my original songs, plus one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs. At that time, I transferred the original reel-to-reel recordings onto a cassette tape. Only just a few years ago did I then I make a digital copy from those old cassette tape recordings. In other words, this collection I am now sharing is a collection of poor recordings of some less-than-stellar songs. (But I like them just the same.) Let’s face it, I’m sharing these songs for the sake of posterity.
Well before 1977, at least as early as 1972, I had already begun to amass a collection of my original songs. No, they weren’t very good, but they were my own originals, and that’s all I cared about.
I’ve always had 4 things going against me: (1) as a guitarist, I’ve never been good enough to even play many of my own songs, (2) I’ve never been able to sing even if somebody held a gun to my head, (3) my melodies stink, and (4) my lyrics positively suck. Other than that, I like my songs just fine.
From 1975-1976 I lived in Kihei on the island of Maui. It was there that several of my songs began to take shape, such as “The Pyramid,” and I had big dreams of someday recording an album (remember, “records” in those days were still being made on vinyl, and there was no such thing as digital recording or the internet). So, for years, my sole reason for having a “day job” was so I could afford to pay for whatever recording expenses there were.
It was while I was on Maui that I bought a reel-to-reel tape recorder. I thought it was great. The brand was called Docorder, and it had 2 cool features: you could record what it called “sound-on-sound” (something like multi-track, but not exactly) and you could add echo.
In 1976 I returned to southern California. The Docorder had enable me to create multiple parts for my songs – rhythm guitars, leads, harmonies and bass.
So by the summer of 1977, I finally had constructed some of my songs to the point that I felt would get the idea across whenever I got the chance to have them professionally recorded. In other words, the recordings, though not very good, were at least “keepable.”
About Kihei, Maui -
1. Kihei, Maui – I later remade this song and put it on my YouTube playlist called “Captured: The Performance for Posterity.” This version was made much earlier and is more rudimentary. I suppose it serves to show how I keep doing my songs the same way now as I did when I first made them up.
It was probable that I had made up the guitar chords for this song while I was on Maui, though I might have done that even earlier. Like most of my songs, I didn’t have a title or anything in particular in mind when I made it up. But it had a carefree kind of sound about it – much like Maui does – so I decide to dedicate the song to Kihei, Maui.
