Huge thank you to Fadhlur for reaching out and taking us on a Malaysian street food tour of Kuala Lumpur. It was an amazing day, and I have so much love to Malaysia as it was one of the first countries where I started making street food videos - as you’ll see in the video!
Ok, here are all the street food stalls and restaurants we ate at on this tour:
Mansion Tea Stall
The thing to order here is the roti canai special, roti that chopped up, then doused in a variety of curry sauces, sambal, and a few soft boiled eggs. It’s a perfect way to begin your day in Kuala Lumpur. Price - 2.80 RM ($0.68) per plate
Nasi Lemak Tanglin
Nasi lemak is often considered the national food of Malaysia, and there are plenty of places to eat it throughout Kuala Lumpur. Having been around since 1948, Nasi Lemak Tanglin is a place I had wanted to go for a while. It was overall very good, with a nice laid back atmosphere and surrounded by nature. Nasi lemak - about 8 RM ($1.94) per plate
Ikan Bakar Seri Melaka (Jalan Bellamy)
One of my favorite places to eat ikan bakar, grilled fish, is on Jalan Bellamy. Back in 2012, I had to hike over a highway and climb a few fences to get there as I was only on foot. In this video, I’m a bit older, and we had a car! The ikan bakar was just as good as I remember it. Total price - 68 RM ($16.51) for everything
Sri Ganapathi Mess
One of the best things about Malaysian food is its incredible diversity, including Malay, Chinese, and Indian food. Banana leaf south Indian food is very popular and I was recommended to try Sri Ganapathi Mess, a restaurant tucked away into a home. An amazing south Indian food experience in Kuala Lumpur. Price - 59 RM ($14.32) for 4 people
Kedai Kopi Lai Foong
Finally, another dish that many had recommended me was the unique clam noodles in Kuala Lumpur Chinatown at the legendary Kedai Kopi Lai Foong. It was delicious, and a perfect way to end an amazing Malaysian street food tour in Kuala Lumpur. Price - 10 RM ($2.43) per bowl
Again, thank you to Oh My Media Malaysia for taking us around:

Things to do in Kuching City - 3 Days Travel in capital of Sarawak Borneo Malaysia
This video bring you along to my 3 days travel in the capital of Sarawak Borneo Malaysia, the Kuching City. Follow me to explore the best things to do in Kuching CIty, visiting must visit places, try the best local Kuching food and some adventure in national park. Hope this video useful to be your Kuching travel guide.
Borneo is one of the largest islands in the world. This big island is consist of 2 countries; Malaysia and Indonesia. 2 states Sarawak and Sabah belongs to Malaysia while Kalimantan belongs to Indonesia. As for now, Kuching City is the largest city in Borneo and is the best gateway access to Borneo adventure.
I travel to Kuching Sarawak Borneo Malaysia via flight from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. There might be some direct flight from international destination so do check your local flight provider for the info. To enable a maximized Kuching travel i travel in the evening so I reach Kuching Sarawak in the night. This enables my next day trip a full day available for my exploration.
So what to do in Kuching City? First up, let's visit Cat Museum. Why Cat Museum, you asked?
Kuching in Malay language quite resembles the word “Kucing” where “Kuching” means cat. Therefore in Kuching City, the cat is considered as a symbol of the city thus a dedicated museum for the cat. Min fee is required for entrance but it’s worth to have a look. The location of this museum also in higher altitude therefore a spectacular panorama of Kuching City.
Orang Utan is one of the protected species in Sarawak Borneo. There are conservation and protection effort from the government. So the next things to do in Kuching City will be a visit to Semenggoh Wildlife Center. This is a must visit spot during your Kuching travel. Come here in the morning or afternoon, there is high chances you able to witness orang utan feeding times. The feeding time is 9-10am and 3-4pm so plan your time well.
I also bring you to visit the hotel I stayed. You do not need to follow me to stay here but its unique enough for me to share to everybody. I stayed in The Culvert. One reason I stayed here is due to proximity to my next location, the Sarawak Cultural Villages.
This is another awesome must visit spot in Kuching trip. Sarawak is famous of the indigenous tribe and here all these cultures, traditional houses, dresses, dances are available for exploration. There is even a cultural show at 11.30 am and 4pm. So do plan your time well.
There is a national park in Kuching. It is called Bako National Park. This protected park has a variety of rainforest, flora and fauna to be explored. But one thing that attracts me the most is the Proboscis Monkey, which is famous for its big nose. There are many trails to be explored but since there is limited time in my 3 days Kuching travel, I have to choose the short and high chance to see Proboscis monkey. I chose the Teluk Paku Trail where it leads to a beach and Proboscis sighting is frequent here. The time here was brief but I manage to see Proboscis at last.
Next we went for our dinner. I heard that there is a place that serve the freshest seafood but it is out of town. With my rented car, I drive all the way to seek for the freshest taste. And we finally reach the destination, Muara Tebas Seafood. The food live up to what I have heard. I order seafood with cooking style with minimum flavouring, boiled prawn, raw oysters, steam fish. What is freshness? The meat taste sweet even without flavoring or minimum flavoring.
Night is still young, I travel back to Kuching city, the waterfront particularly to enjoy the night walk. I checked in to another hotel to ease my next day exploration. Next day, I explore the same Kuching Waterfront, cross river with the local sampan to reach my next target, Fort Margherita. Next to the fort, is the DUN where State Legislative Assemblies will be held. This is a very beautiful building, another symbol of Kuching Sarawak. Just next to the DUN is the Astana Sarawak aka Sarawak Palace. This is the place where the Sarawak Governor resides.
The final leg of my Kuching trip bring me to a Chinese temple Tua Pek Kong, India Streets and a wonderful boat ride along the Sarawak River.

We Eat Local - The 3 Sides of Food in Malaysia: Indian, Malay, Chinese
Kuala Lumpur is one of the best food cities of all time. Yeah, I said it. A big part of this is the mix of cultures that the city is made up of. The Malay people make up just under 50% of the population. Chinese immigrants take up another large chunk - about 43%. Indians, most of which came over when Britain needed cheap labor during the period of colonization, make up over 10%.
In many ways, Kuala Lumpur is like a recipe. A cultural mix that comes together to make the city an unbelievably tasty place.
In this video, we're eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 3 very different venues.
Breakfast features Indian food with a twist. We head to the Ali Food Corner (a chain that seems to be everywhere in KL) to eat some Canai Roti, a Southeast Asian take on Indian flat bread. It's made with lots of oil or butter, and it comes with a delicious dhal (lentil) curry for dipping. There are a ton of ways to order canai roti (pronounced Che-nai). I go with the telur version - an egg is scrambled in the roti. Sara prefers the sweet taste of a banana filled roti. We also get a masala dosa - a fermented batter crepe that's filled with potatoes covered in masala spices. This is a killer breakfast. It's not exactly healthy, but it's dang delicious. With a cup of coffee or tea, you'll be 100% satisfied.
For lunch, we make our way to the ICC Pudu food hawker center. It's one of the best places to go for food in the city. It's possible to get all three types of food here, but I'm eating Nasi Lemak, which is so Malaysian that it was named their national dish. Traditionally, nasi lemak was a breakfast. It was simply some rice cooked in coconut milk, wrapped in a pandan leaf, and steamed to perfection. It would often include some anchovies or other dry fish, plus some sambal. You'd unwrap the leaf and scarf it down. At lunch though, you want something a bit more substantial. Nasi lemak goes big at lunch time. I got mine with a fried chicken leg, plus some onion sambal, some cockles in a savory sauce, and a bit of curry sauce to eat with the rice. It also comes with a fried up peanut and little fish combo that adds texture and taste. This massive meal only cost 9 ringgit, about $2.15. It was incredible, but I have to say the best part was the fried chicken. Malaysia might have the best chicken in Southeast Asia - maybe in all of Asia. The skin was crispy. The meat was juicy and tender. So goooood!
Finally, it's dinner time, and it's time for Chinese food. In Malaysia, Chinese food usually comes from one of a few regions - most of which are located in southern China. There's the Hakka people, who are kind of the Roma of Asia. There are many Fujian people who offer some incredible seafood dishes. We stuck with Cantonese food in this video, but there are many varieties of Chinese food in Kuala Lumpur. I think there's actually more variety in the city's Chinese food than there is in the Malay food.
Of course, you know Cantonese food because it's the type of Chinese food that seems to be everywhere in the world. We stuck with some classics: roasted pork fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and then we mixed it up with some incredible eggplant cooked with ground pork in a gravy-like sauce. Chinese food in Kuala Lumpur is best served from a Kedai Kopi. This translates to coffee shop, but these places are closer to cafeterias, or food hawker centers. They're usually populated by a variety of stalls. You order what you want and they deliver it to you. You pay for each thing separately, including the drinks (which are usually sold by the landlord).
This was one of the best days for food that we've ever had. Kuala Lumpur is awesome. It will fill you up with a diverse selection of food and keep you coming back for more.

After my trip to Singapore, I have decided to celebrate my birthday in Kuching, Malaysia. It was my first time in Malaysia and I was introduced to a simple but rich culture of Sarawakian. We have explored the area a little bit and its gastonomic delicacies! After 3 days, I went to Kuala Lumpur for an overnight trip. Though it was short, I have met some cool people from CS KL and spent the night with them sharing travel stories and whatnot.

SECRET REVEALED! Best Chinese Braised Duck Recipe 潮州卤鸭 Teochew or Chiu Chau style • How to cook duck
Braised duck or 潮州卤鸭 or some people call it 卤水鸭is a Chinese dish well loved by Singaporeans. Although Chinese from different dialect have their own version of braised duck, the Teochew braised duck is considered the most popular in Singapore.
You can easily find a stall selling braised duck in food centers all around Singapore. I guess the reason is because the preparation of this dish is although slightly laborious, you can hardly go wrong with the dish once you get the hang of cooking it. Serve the braised duck with freshly cooked jasmine white rice and drizzle some of the thick dark sauce on the rice as well as some simple side dishes of braised hard-boiled eggs. Hmm, simply delicious!

10 Things Not to Do in Malaysia
Get more Tips here!
Malaysia is an amazing country to visit, full of lush beaches and bountiful national parks, it's well worth the trip. But before you go, here are 10 things not to do in Malaysia!
1) Don't Bring Drugs
Okay, for most of us, this is a pretty obvious no-no. But for some travellers thinking of just sneaking a small amount of pot through customs, thinking that it's not as bad as other drugs, forget about it. For this, seemingly petty crime, in Malaysia you could be sentenced to death!
2) Don't Walk Home at Night
If you really have to go on foot, try going with some friends or someone you trust. But if you can avoid it, go by car. Streets are very unsafe at night. Anything could happen...
3) Don't Wear Your Shoes Indoors
The polite thing to do is to remove your shoes before entering someone's house to avoid bringing the dirt inside, but they don't always follow this habit, so it's best to just ask beforehand.
4) Don't Insult Their Food
Here, you'll find some of the best dishes EVER! Try all the food you can while you're here because you won't find most of it back home. Of course, you won't like it all, but avoid openly insulting it and keep your thoughts for yourself.
5) Don't Forget to Check Your Taxi
Some taxis are not properly metered, and they will try to scam you. To be sure you are taking a legitimate taxi, get the app Grab or TaxiMonger and you'll avoid the scammers.
6) Don't Point!
Using your forefinger to point at places, objects or people is considered unpolite. If you need to point at something, in Malaysia they use their thumb with all four fingers folded under.
7) Don't Forget the Greetings
The traditional greeting or salam resembles a handshake but without the shake. If somebody extends their hands to you as if in prayer, you should touch the backs of their hands and bow slightly. Some women may only bow, smile and raise their hand to their chest, in which case you should do the same.
8) Don't Kiss in Public
Malaysian locals take public behaviour very seriously and they don't see kissing or public displays of affection as a nice thing. So save it for behind closed doors.
9) Don't Drink Alcohol
The country may permit the sale of alcohol to non-Muslims but they are more strict in places like Kelantan and Terengganu which have a Muslim majority. So don't expect to have a crazy booze-up there.
10) Don't Worry About Burping
You're in a restaurant and suddenly, oh that's embarrassing... But here no one cares! In Malaysia burping after a meal is not a rude thing, quite the contrary. It just means you had a great meal. So feel free to burp!
Where do you want to know what not to do in next?

RARE MUD BAKED CHICKEN in MALAYSIA | Food and Travel Channel | Selangor, Malaysia
Subscribe for more food and travel videos:
We’re in Selangor, Malaysia to film a meal which is pretty special! Beggar’s Chicken is a dish that originates from China and New Heong Kee has been serving up their mud packed chicken for over 40 years.
A kampung chicken is first marinated in soy, sesame oil and Shao Xing rice wine before being stuffed with a range of Chinese herbs including goji berries, dong gui and red dates. It’s then wrapped in layers of papers before being tied with string. To the side of the restaurant is a large mound of laterite earth which is churned in a machine with water to create a malleable mud. The chicken is packed with the mud before being placed in a hot ash oven with charcoals and baked for 8 hours.
The results are spectacular. The chicken is perfectly cooked, the meat falling off the bone. The herbs add an almost medicinal, herbal flavour to the chicken and the juices it’s cooked in are savoury and perfect for pouring over white rice.
New Heong Kee also serves a number of other dishes ranging from winter melon soup to oyster rice. In addition to our Beggar’s Chicken we eat a country fish and local vegetables cooked in sambal belacan.
A delicious and unique meal!
Remember that you need to book a Beggar's Chicken one day in advance!

3 MILLION FISH at this Koi Fish Farm. [Tour]
Over 3 million fish here. Hazorea Aquatics Farm was nice enough to host us. We only had about an hour here which is not much time for filming. It was amazing to visit a facility where the maintain bio security. Our cameras and arms etc were sterilized with alcohol. We had to wear plastic covers over our shoes and legs.
This farm has over 3 million koi. This is an impressive amount. The clarity of the water, the sizes of the filtration, the huge race ways filled with water that connected the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of gallons of water, no expense was spared in caring for these fish.
While I was there I saw them mixing gelatin and vitamins and spraying pellet food in a cement mixer to further enhance vitamins for these fish.
Koi and carp in general are an excitable fish. Whenever we walked by them they would get very excited and cluster up and beg for food. The ponds were very deep to where we couldn't see the bottom, going much below the ground we walked on. They were also very long as well, seemed to be 40-50 feet long each. Originally I said I was going to make a video to defend against the internet saying it's cruel etc. I decided instead to highlight the farm and show what was cool. I would simply explain in the description and those who choose to read it would understand.
This fish farm in Israel, prides themselves on high quality. Sparing no expense so that they can provide koi all over the world. I myself would have no problem buying koi from this farm and importing them. I'm sure from only what is shown on video you may have a different opinion. I can say for sure that being there in person and meeting the people responsible all doubt would be removed.
