Sommarøy's archipelago by itself is a paradise for short sailing kayak trip.

Sommarøy - a superscenic island outside Tromsø!

It’s just about three weeks since we filmed this forth episode of The Scenic Stuff, and since then we’ve gone from autumn to full on winter here in Tromsø … well, we just can’t edit videos fast enough to keep up with the changing seasons up north it seems. But anyhow, this episode is about the extraordinary scenic qualities of a small island called Sommarøy, where we try to capture the beauty of the place as the sun is getting gradually lower until it’s just a faint glow under the horizon in the ocean out west.

We got the chance to test the lowlight capability on the Mavic Pro 2 drone, and it was pretty impressing that it managed to capture the last remains of light that well.

We also had a close encounter with a bird that we after a lengthy debate managed to find the right English name and pronunciation for… it was a grouse. Not grose or gruse, but grrrooouse!
