Final!!! My visit to HOBBY SHOPS in Hong Kong! [Part 4]
Continuing from Days 1, 2 & 3 of my urgent business trip to Hong Kong, I visited even more model shops in my free time on Day 4.
I didn't have any information about hobby shops in HK so I asked my Instagram followers for their recommendation. I received much more advice than I expected. Thank you very much! Based on the advice I received, I was able to go around checking out several good hobby shops during my stay in HK. I visited hobby shops everyday.
Only one store allowed me to video it with the promise that it was possible to do so without capturing any price tags. The rest seemed reluctant so I gave up. If you have the chance to go to HK, I would be glad if you could visit these shops that I went to as well.

80M Bus Model 20020 | Dennis Trident Alexander ALX500 | NWFB 1997-2007 HKSAR | 1:76 Scale | Review
Here is another model bus review to come in June and this one is the 80M Bus Model of the Dennis Trident 3 Alexander ALX500 in the NWFB/New World World First Bus 10 years 1997-2007 of HKSAR (Hong Kong SAR) from when Hong Kong was handed back to China from a British ruled colony. The model bus is more detailed and does surpass the 1998 Corgi model that I will be covering in the future and I might be making a comparison video to compare the differences between the Corgi, Drumwell and the 80M versions of this Dennis Trident Alexander ALX500.
The model bus is a limited edition and is modelled on vehicle 1068 and would be registered as HY1796. This model bus was released in 2007 by 80M Bus Model and is one of the 1250 models produced worldwide. I picked this one up for a decent price and I bought it pre-owned. Apart from the minor paint blemish on the nearside to the front roof (tree strike maybe haha!). The model bus is in great condition.
Overall Rating: 9/10.

Tiny 98 | KMB | Alexander-Dennis Enviro 500 | Hong Kong Tramways Livery | Unknown Scale | Review HD
Here is my first Hong Kong model bus review to come of 2019 as I don't think I have covered any since 2017 if I recall correctly. This model bus is smaller than the ones I usually cover and this one is from Tiny and I believe the scale is about 1/110 or similar but I have settled for unknown scale to be safe.
I think the model bus is more close to TT gauge model railways as it is too small for OO gauge and too large for N scale as well. Despite its compact size. the model bus have some very nice detail and I do like the Hong Kong Tramways livery on this bus as well as the green colour does suit the bus. This model bus is licenced by KMB as there is a hologram on the box and the model was packed in some tissue to prevent rubbing off the paint whilst stored.
From the information stated on the box, this is definitely not a toy and I believe these model buses are designed for those that have limited space but want to collect model buses. My thoughts on these model buses is that they are well made and depending on the livery you want, the prices can vary considerably as I paid US $15 for this one which included delivery.
To put this way. I will be getting more of these models as I have a second one coming to me and a larger model that will be covered in June as I am intending to get and review more Hong Kong model buses this year.
Overall Rating: 10/10.

車廂配以仿木防火地板,用色以商務啡色為主,新一代龍運機場巴士亦採用類似配色;
選用Vogelsitze馬來西亞分公司Vogel生產的Vogelsitze Revo S仿皮座椅,配以咖啡色與奶白色(九巴形容為商務啡色及杏色),取代粉紅色巴士仔家族圖案;
改良座椅設計及調整頭枕形狀,調節頭枕與椅背比例,增強座椅承托力,聲稱更符合亞洲人身型;
關愛座改用粉紅色配奶白色;
上層車廂只於樓梯及車頭擋風玻璃裝設黃色扶手柱,同時在座椅頭枕旁增設扶手環,既可增加車廂空間感,亦能減少碰撞;
因應上層車廂採用無柱式設計,落車鐘改置於個別空調出風口旁;
裝設CSL Wi-Fi上網設備,乘客每次登入後限用15分鐘,全日最多使用兩節(共30分鐘);
Hong Kong has a highly developed and sophisticated transport network, encompassing both public and private transport. Based on Hong Kong Government's Travel Characteristics Survey, over 90 per cent of the daily journeys are on public transport, the highest rate in the world.[1] However, in 2014 the Transport Advisory Committee, which advises the Government on transportation issues, issued a report on the much worsened congestion problem in Hong Kong and pointed at the excessive growth of private cars during the past 10–15 years.[2]
The Octopus card, a smart electronic money payment system, was introduced in September 1997 to provide an alternative to the traditional banknotes and coins. Available for purchase in every station of the Mass Transit Railway system, the Octopus card is a non-touch payment system which allows payment not only for public transport (such as trains, buses, trams, ferries and minibuses), but also at parking meters, convenience stores, supermarkets, fast-food restaurants and most vending machines.

Buses[edit]

Main article: Bus services in Hong Kong
Bus services have a long history in Hong Kong. As at 2015, five companies operate franchised public bus services, each granted 10 year exclusive operating rights to the set of routes that they operate.[11] Franchise buses altogether carry about one-third of the total daily public transport market of around 12 million passengers, with KMB having 67% of the franchised bus market share, CityBus with 16% and New World First Bus with 13%.[12] There are also a variety of non-franchised public buses services, including feeder bus services to railway stations operated by the railway companies, and residents' services for residential estates (particularly those in the New Territories).
The five franchised bus companies are:
Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited;
Citybus Limited;
Long Win Bus Company Limited;
New World First Bus Services Limited; and
New Lantao Bus Company (1973) Limited.
Founded in 1933, the Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited (KMB) is one of the largest privately owned public bus operators in the world.[13] KMB's fleet consist of about 3,900 buses on 400 routes and a staff of over 12,000 people. In 1979, Citybus began its operation in Hong Kong with one double-decker, providing shuttle service for the Hong Kong dockyard. It later expanded into operating a residential bus route between City One, Shatin and Kowloon Tong MTR station. New World First Bus Services Limited was established in 1998, taking over China Motor Bus's franchise to provide bus services on Hong Kong Island together with Citybus. NWFB's owner company later bought Citybus, but the two companies have basically been operating independently.
Public light buses[edit]
Green LPG minibus on its route
Main article: Public light bus
Public light buses (小巴) (widely referred to as minibuses, or sometimes maxicabs, a de facto share taxi) run the length and breadth of Hong Kong, through areas which the standard bus lines can not or do not reach as frequently, quickly or directly. Minibuses carry a maximum of 16 passengers; no standees are allowed.
