There's nothing like Ginjinha
In Rossio, Lisbon, head left as you enter the square, along the National Theatre, and keep on going until you come to the adjoining Largo de São Domingos. You'll find a tiny age-old watering hole at number 8, with a sign above the entrance that says: A Ginjinha. Ginjinha is a traditional liqueur made in the region of Estremadura

FAQ
What's Contiki?
The original travel company for the young, wild and free, we’ve perfected the art of travel since 1962. To us, wealth isn’t a number on a bank balance. It’s not the car we drive or the house we live in. We count our wealth in experiences and memories. The number of sunsets we’ve watched with best friends, the number of ancient landmarks we’ve visited, the number of times we’ve defied our comfort zone and done the extraordinary. Because we know you only get one life, one shot. So you better make it count.
What do your crew do?
Our travellers trust us to give them the experience of a lifetime, not to mention take care of all the travel hassle, so only the crème de la crème team will do. Our Trip Managers, Drivers, Local Guides, On-site team members, on-road cooks, are pretty much the best in the biz. Highly trained, crazy knowledgeable and with a total passion for travel, these guys are the real deal.
Can I travel with you?
Fo sho! We operate trips almost all over the world - so whether you want to go to Australia or Austria, on land or on sea, party or explore, there's a Contiki trip for you. Get started at
A Ginjinha in Rossio Square
Ginjinha or simply Ginja, is a liqueur made by infusing ginja berries, (sour cherry) (Prunus cerasus austera, the Morello cherry) in alcohol (aguardente is used) and adding sugar together with other ingredients. Ginjinha is served in a shot form with a piece of the fruit in the bottom of the cup. It is a favourite liqueur of many Portuguese and a typical drink in Lisbon, Alcobaça and Óbidos.

EATLOG 25
The last of the Pasteis de Belem Series. We still stuffed ourselves with a bit more pastries before I finally got to taste the Ginjinha, a cherry liqueur made out of the Ginja berry (sour cherry) mixed with alcohol and sugar. This makes for a great souvenir for anyone who enjoys alcohol.

The Last Lisbon Our Way | Portugal
The Last Lisbon our Way
January 2020 - A perfect time to visit Sintra, Cascais, Cabo de Roca. Fewer tourists. Very comfortable to get around.
We used public transportation. Many of them have public WiFI which helped us plan our route and next activity on the fly. We reloaded €6.40 on the Viva card. It was definitely the best value for the money.
In this episode, we ate at:
Sol e Pesca
A Ginjinha - technically just a drink!
Casa Das Bifanas
Casa Brasileira
Auchan
Czar Hotel
We visited:
