How to prepare Spanish Alioli: Spanish Cooking classes in Madrid
A typical Catalonian sauce made of crushed garlic, salt and oil. The name is a deformation of the Catalan 'all i oli', which means garlic and oil. Although it seems quite simple, a genuine alioli is difficult to prepare: it requires crushing the garlic cloves and salt to a paste in a mortar, after which the olive oil is added little by little, constantly stirring in the same direction, until a properly thickened sauce is obtained. Given the difficulty and time involved in its preparation, genuine alioli is not easy to find in restaurants, except in Catalonia and the Valencian Community, where it accompanies grilled meats as well as a variety of rice dishes. What is usually served is a fictitious alioli (mayonnaise, with chopped garlic), which -despite lacking authenticity- may be fortunate, as the genuine version is extraordinarily strong and an excess of this sauce during a meal may later be frankly difficult to digest.

3. ABOUT THIS VID! ????
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
I remember about two years ago when I was giving a tapas tour in Madrid for my company Devour Spain, and in the first bar one of my guests said to me, “Are we in a tapas bar now?” Boom! That’s when I realised that although tapas have gone global, people who are visiting Spain for the first (and second) time often have no clear idea of what it really means to go out for tapas in this country. Or actually what tapas actually are.
And I don’t blame them. It’s flat out confusing. So, I made this video to try and explain what – after four years in Spain – I think tapas are. And to give you my three hard-won tips for going out for tapas like a local. Watch, learn and drool!

The best restaurant in the f*cking world ?
Before opening his own restaurant in his hometown, Madrid, DiverXO, David Muñoz had work experience in several other restaurants, including Asian venues in London. This variety of experiences along with Muñoz’s creativity to channel all his knowledge into shaping his unique style, lead him to conquer three Michelin Stars.
Due to DiverXO’s success, David Muñoz also created StreetXO, a more casual and low cost version of the fine restaurant, now also existent not only in Madrid, but also in Central London.
Foie Gras & the Ethics of Force-Feeding: The Politics of Food
In 2012, the State of California successfully banned foie gras, citing animal welfare and health concerns. Though that ban was just recently overturned, the debate continues to rage on from both sides.
In this episode of The Politics of Food, chef and food writer Dave Arnold speaks to the ban's key political players, including the Chairman of the California Democratic Party, to understand how insider politics determines what we can and cannot eat. From a foie gras speakeasy to the world of animal-rights activists, Dave visits both sides of the issue and discovers why there’s so much controversy surrounding this popular delicacy.

Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a vlogging travel couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
Our most recent trip was to South Korea where I embarked upon a two-week adventure without Audrey. Invited as part of a YouTube vlogging trip, organized by KTO, I spent the first week traveling with other YouTubers in Seoul, Busan and Gyeongju. My second week included independent exploration of Korea with my good friend and fellow YouTuber David of DavidsBeenHere.
Having lived and traveled in South Korea, the chance to return to one of my favorite countries was one of the biggest surprises of 2019. On this particular trip, I had an opportunity to do many things I had not previously covered including a visit to the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone between South Korea and North Korea), a Buddhist Temple Stay and a Korean cooking class. It was almost as if the program designed by KTO knew exactly what I had missed out on before.
Obviously, a huge highlight from the two weeks I spent revisiting Korea was the food. I feasted on all of my favorite Korean dishes including Korean barbecue, dolsot bibimbap, haemul pajeon, tteokbokki, bulgogi, kimbap and many others. I can honestly say that Korean food is world-class and is one of my top 5 favorite cuisines in the world. Aside from trying familiar dishes, I had the opportunity to sample raw Korean seafood for the first time.
While visiting Seoul, highlights included going to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namsan Seoul Tower, Jogyesa Temple and Hongdae. As one of the biggest cities in the world, I barely scratched the surface of things to do in Seoul.
Spending extended time in Busan was my favorite part about the trip with top highlights including a Korean temple stay, fresh fish markets and a Korean baseball game. It was from Busan that we ended up taking a day-trip to Daegu where we enjoyed a traditional Korean market and tried Galbi-Jjim for the first time.
If you want to see more videos from Korea in the future, let us know in the comments what places you'd like us to travel to and what food experiences you'd like to see on this travel channel.
Have you traveled to South Korea before? What was your experience like? Please share your Korea travel tips, advice and experiences in the comments below.
Thanks again for watching our Korea travel and food series! Until next time!
