Enjoy!
Being for centuries at the center of Italian history explains why this beautiful region has so many Unesco world heritage sights and iron-strong traditions.
Rustic farms, manicured fields, cypress driveways and roman-medieval-renaissance citadels overlooking vast green landscapes from hill tops.
1)San Gimignano
San Gimignano is a small medieval hill town in the province of Siena. Famous for its medieval architecture, preserved tall tower houses and encircling walls located on the top of a hill. Also known for it's San Gimignano wine, Vernaccia.
2)Agriturismo dell'Arnano (Agriturismo is a luxurious farm stay away from the city)
We chose to book a Farm stay away from the city noise and stress.
15 km from Siena, in the town of Sovicille
This agriturismo cost us 324 euros for 3 guests for 7 nights for a total of 15.5 Euros pp per night. That's insane!
3)Siena and it's Palio horse race
Siena is a city in Tuscany, Italy.
The historic centre of Siena has been declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site.
It is one of the nation's most visited tourist attractions. Siena is famous for its cuisine, art, museums, medieval cityscape and the Palio Horse race.
According to local legend, Siena was founded by Senius and Aschius, two sons of Remus and thus nephews of Romulus, after whom Rome was named.
Supposedly after their father's assassination by Romulus, they fled Rome, taking the statue of the she-wolf suckling the infants (Capitoline Wolf), thus appropriating that symbol for the town.
The Palio di Siena is a horse race that is held twice each year, on 2 July and 16 August, in Siena, Italy. Ten horses and riders, bareback and dressed in the appropriate colours, represent ten of the seventeen contrade, or city wards.
4)Monteriggioni
Monteriggioni is a comune in the province of Siena in the Italian region Tuscany. The town hosts several piazzas and is referenced in Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. Strategically positioned outpost later fortified to be the first line of defense against the enemy neighbor Florence.
5)La Speranza Restaurant
By far my favorite restaurant for its price and it's quality. Few tourists know about this place, mainly attended by local farmers, hunters, police officers, fire brigade, etc.
6)Castles around our farm stay ( Str. della Villa, 7, 53035 Monteriggioni Loc. La Villa SI, Italy)
If you go to Tuscany you'll find castles scattered all over the place just like these ones. This one is B&B “la torre della signoria”. Within walking distance is another castle called Castello della Chiocciola, named after it's spiral staircase.
7)Castellina in Chianti
Castellina in Chianti is a municipality of 2,800 inhabitants, located about 15 kilometres northwest of Siena. It is part of the Chianti Hills.
The first settlements date from the Etruscan age.
The city has roman and medieval details.
8)Cecchi Wine Tour
Pay a visit and enjoy:
-A wine tour of the vineyards and line of production executed by a professional master sommelier
-Wine tasting of 2 flagship wines and 3 premium signature wines
-Coupling of wine with food (aperitivo with locally cured meat and bruschetta)
-Olive oil tasting

Three Days of Wellness - Tuscany
On a recent trip to Italy, Raquel Baldelomar learned the value of the Tuscan Way of Life. In short, the people of Tuscany savor each day.
I was fortunate to visit the Tenuta Torciano Winery in San Gimignano. Whether you are a wine lover, foodie, or simply passionate about travel and wellness, this experience is a prime example of how taking a moment to enjoy the simple pleasures of life can boost creativity and restore balance.

First we'll learn about the original Tuscans — the ancient Etruscans — at Volterra's Etruscan Museum, then we'll tour a hill town that was important to both the Etruscans and the Romans, head into the woods for a truffle hunt, eat slow food Italian-style during Sunday lunch in Chiusure, and finish in Montepulciano, where we'll get passionate about the local wine.

Restaurants Featured:
1) Fedora
Via Guelfa 116B, 50129, Florence, Italy
+39 055 033 2725
Start your day right with incredibly yummy croissants and coffees. I totally recommend heading to Fedora for a light breakfast to start off your day.
The door is always locked but it doesn't mean they are closed. You ring the bell and they will unlock the door for you.
Everything I tried here was delicious and super cheap. 1 dollar for a croissant. You can't go wrong with that! And the cappuccino was made perfectly. I was very impressed with these students. They are well trained and very nice. If you are in town while school is in session this place is a must! They are open Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 3 pm
2) Trattoria dall'Oste
Via Luigi Alamanni, 3/5r, 50100 Firenze FI, Italy
When you are in Florence, the top food to try is Florentine steak. The steak is cut from the loin, just below the rib cage and above the rump.
The steak is grilled over a wood or charcoal fire. It is then finished off with some salt and pepper.
This steak can easily be shared between 2 to 3 people. The steak came out to be about 120 US dollars since it is measured by KG.
3) Mercato Centrale
Piazza del Mercato Centrale – Via dell’Ariento, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy
I recommend going to the main market downstairs for a late breakfast or lunch and for upstairs I would go at night for a late dinner or a snack. Upstairs is open all day from 10 to 12 am.
4) Da Nerbone
Mercato Centrale, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy
They specialize in tripe and beef cooked in a slow cooked, simmering stew. They are famous for their Panino bollito which is their boiled beef sandwich. It's about 4 euros per sandwich and this place is cash only.
To order, you first stand in the line to pay, and then you take that receipt and stand in the counter line. Once at the front you show them your receipt and tell them how many sandwiches you want and how you want your sandwich prepared.
5) La Pasta Fresca
Mercato Centrale, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy
Amazing pasta and ravioli. I recommend the lampredotto ravioli!
6) GROM
Via del Campanile, 2, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy
One of the best legitimate gelato places in the city!
7) All'antico Vinaio
Via dei Neri, 74/R, 50100 Firenze FI, Italy
Very famous sandwich shop in Florence Italy!
8) La Strega Nocciola
Via De' Bardi 51R | Ponte Vecchio, 50125, Florence, Italy
Delicious handmade, old school style gelato. Likely the best gelato you can find near the Duomo.
9) Kitsch
Viale Antonio Gramsci, 1/5 R, 50121 Firenze FI, Italy
While in Italy you should try an aperitivo restaurant.
Think of aperitivo as a mix between tapas and happy hour. You’ll find them in every city in Italy and it’s become a part of the social fabric here. This is one of the best available!
10) La Prosciutteria
Via dei Neri, 54r, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy
One of the BEST cheap cheeseboards in the city as well as great, cheap wines by the glass!

Wine & Food Day-Trips in Tuscany (Part 2)
Chianti wine tour
Wine tours from Florence by FUNINTUSCANY
Best Dinner or Wine Ever?! - in a small town of Italy, Chianti (Tuscany)
This time we are in a small (tiny) town of Tuscany Italy, Chianti. We decided to stay in a bed and breakfast, in the middle of Italian farms, vineyards, and country, only YEE HAW was missing. More precisely, we were surrounded by the country, farms, vineyards, roosters, dogs, and bugs. It was very silent besides the loud animals. But, I thinks they were loud because of us and our drone insanity. It was actually a perfect location to try out our drone for the first time, incase of a drone crash and a consequential mitigation plan. It came close, and everyone was loud, sometimes.
Yet, the main reason is the food, wine, and scenery. The food in small towns of Italy is very different from the typical Italian touristic spots (night and Day). Food and wine is just as artistic and creative as the scenery around it. One could say, one inspires the other. We loved tuscany Italy with its farms, vineyard, food, wine, atmosphere, and would comeback again and again. SIMPLY STUNNING!

Monastery of Santa Scolastica | Italia Slow Tour
Spiritual trekking in Central Italy: visit the monastery of Santa Scolastica, then walk for a quick trail to Saint Benedict of Subiaco where is the famous Sacro Speco (Holy Cave). It's a wonderful path, seriously, it's almost better than the walk to Santiago de Compostela! The abbey dedicated to Santa Scolastica – who was Saint Benedict’s sister, nun as well – is a place where knowledge is preserved, through a huge archive of ancient books. There is also an ancient hand-written Bible, purchased in 1394.
