Mysterious Faces and Granaries at Ollantaytambo - Cusco, Peru
Visit to check out great information about mysterious and fantastic places on earth.
Two mysterious faces can be seen from the Ollantaytambo fort. These are huge faces which are naturally formed on the mountain opposite to the fort. However, the Incas carved the eyes and some rough features into them to give meaning to them. One of them is Viracocha or Tunupa, the God of creation. Experts don't agree on who the other face represents. Also, you can see plenty of granaries built on the mountains. They were used to store grains (duh) .

The Giant Builders Of Ancient Cusco Peru
Contrary to common belief, the massive megalithic work known as Sachsayhuaman above Cusco Peru was not the achievement of the Inca, but a much older and more high tech race. The Inca of course did construct aspects at Sachsayhuaman. Watch this video and see the evidence for yourself.

The Living Stones of Sacsayhuaman
The documentary The Living Stones of Sacsayhuaman
At the beginning of July 2012 the Ministry of Culture of Peru invited a group of Russian geophysicists to research the issues dealing with the soil of the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman. In the course of completing this task there were collected interesting historic and archaeological data and a substantial amount of photo and video materials that were provided the basis for production of this movie.

Lima/Huacachina/Cusco, Peru.... at 8 months pregnant
My family and I traveled to all different parts of Peru (Lima, Huacachina, Cusco, and Aguas Calientes) this November and really enjoyed all it had to offer. I am 8 months pregnant and was scared that I would have trouble with the high altitudes because people tried to scare me about it beforehand, but it turns out that I was fine and able to keep up with everyone else. Cusco, Peru
Recorded March 4, 2009.
Cusco (also spelled Cuzco) is a city in southeastern Peru, near the Urubamba Valley (Sacred Valley) of the Andes mountain range. It is the capital of the Cusco Region as well as the Cusco Province. The city has a population of 348,935 which is triple the figure of 20 years ago. Located on the eastern end of the Knot of Cusco, its altitude is around 11,000 feet. Cusco is the historic capital of the Inca Empire and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983 by UNESCO. It is a major tourist destination and receives almost a million visitors a year. It is designated as the Historical Capital of Peru by the Constitution of Peru.
The video begins at my hotel, the Libertador, and then continues directly across the street at the Coricancha (' Temple of the Sun') which was the most important temple in the Inca Empire. We then visit Sacsayhuamán, an Inca walled complex. These ruins are at an altitude of 12,142 feet. While at the ruins we are able to view several llama grazing in the area. We then descend back into the city and visit the Cathedral of Cusco on the Plaza de Armas.
