History:
The first land was acquired in 1964 with the park opening and dedication held on May 21, 1966. Subsequent acquisitions to the north and south along Lake Tarpon have enlarged the park to 135 acres. The most recently improved area is a 30-acre parcel acquired in 1973 on the south side of the park. Access to this area is gained by means of a road leading from the main park road to an overpass which bridges Tookes Road. It was formally opened to the public on June 3, 1982.
The park was named in honor of Alphonse L. “Andy” Anderson, former Mayor of Gulfport and Pinellas County Commissioner from 1959 - 1971. A successful commercial fisherman and recipient of two prestigious conservation awards, Mr. Anderson was sensitive to the preservation of local waterways and the marine environment. During his tenure on the Commission, he helped to establish several county parks, including A.L. Anderson Park on the shores of Lake Tarpon. After serving on the County Commission, Mr. Anderson continued his tireless preservation efforts as a member of the Pinellas County Park Board.

Wall Springs Park
It was an awesome day to shoot, little wind and very few people. Much easier to admire nature from a bird's eye view.
Song - Conbron Calamity
Wall Springs was originally built as as a Special therapeutic pool back in the 1940's (as the little info boxes on the docks suggests). Until the early 200's it was a relatively unused portion of land until Pinellas County (or whoever it was) funded the creation of a park. Now, as you can see, there are docks around the freshwater spring, and as you venture into the park, a watch tower. There is also a new covered part of the park with swings, slides, etc. I do not fly that way to avoid people, because people are annoying and watch too much social media (haha).

Wall Springs Park :: [Recreation, History, & Facts]
(Probably)
Wall Springs Park was purchased by the Wall family in 1884. It was used as a health spa and for swimming until the 1960's. For a period of time it was called Health Springs though it changed to Wall Springs because of the family who bought it. In 2001 Pinellas County bought Wall Springs to make it into a really awesome park. In 2015 the Penny for Pinellas tax was able to fund a $3.6 million expansion which includes 121 more acres and final fixes to the observation tower. The original observation tower was burned down in September 2013 in an arson fire. Because this new tower is a new structure, it will have to be handicap accessible with a ramp as per ADA guidelines. It's not yet completed.
Wall Springs park is BEAUTIFUL and a great place to see mullet, needle fish, ducks, and other wildlife. The spring shoots forth water from the aquifer a placid 74 degrees Fahrenheit. It's crystal clear.
We also include information about Palm Harbor, Crystal Beach, Dunedin, & The Pinellas Trail.
The Pinellas Trail takes you right to Palm Harbor and Wall Springs.

We recently got attacked by a very emotional man who was very upset about our videos which has sent our channel down the tubes :'( He ruined our Like vs Dislike ration as well as our PMRs -- He called them click bait and made only for views. He also threatened my life and occupation. We could really use your help if you could like or share this or any other video we made (if you know anyone who would like to see it/them) that would really help us out!
Thank you!
