We're in myanmar again!
This is our first time travelling to Kalaw and we are doing a 3 days 2 nights trek around the Kalaw mountain areas!
We found our trekking guide Yel' Lin through travel agency A1 after arriving Kalaw. The trekking tour is inclusive of accommodation (homestay) and food (cook by the chef). We homestay-ed in villages for both of the nights.
Although it rained in the second and the third day, the trek was an awesome adventure! :D

Burma Forever
Petra (the main actress - at the very end) thought I had a wee bit of explaining to do: she hasn't totally lost it - she's only imitating some Burmese people we met along the way :-) the less than steady camera in the last scene is not due to lack of my professional skills, but due to my laughing :-)
Otherwise this is a mix of some short video clips from our AMAZING Burma 2006 trip. Shot with my tiny Canon Ixus camera, so not the best quality, but unforgettable memories nevertheless! Burma, home of some of the NICEST AND MOST KINDHEARTED people in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TREKKING KALAW - Inle Lake - Back to basic, Teil 1 | Backpacking Myanmar | Weltreise | #017
In diesem Video reisen wir mit dem Nachtbus nach Kalaw. Von Kalaw aus haben wir dann eine Trekking-Tour zum Inle-Lake gebucht. Leider hat das mit dem Nachtbus aber nicht so ganz geklappt, sodass wir viel zu früh - so gegen 2 Uhr nachts - im extrem kalten Kalaw angekommen sind und keine Ahnung hatten, wie wir die Zeit bis zum Beginn der Trekking-Tour verbringen sollten.
So viel sei gesagt: Wir haben es pünktlich und ausgeschlafen zum Treffpunkt für die Trekking-Tour von Kalaw zum Inle Lake geschafft. Belohnt wurden wir mit atemberaubender und vor allem vollkommen unberührter Landschaft und vielen kleinen Dörfern, in denen wir die Einheimischen bei ihrer täglichen Arbeit beobachten konnten. Geschlafen haben wir dann genau in so einem Dorf - natürlich ohne fließend Strom und Wasser, dafür aber mit super (gast)freundlichen Menschen und super leckerem Essen.

UNA MISTERIOSA ROCCIA SOSPESA • Myanmar Ep. 2
Da Yangon prendo un bus verso Kinpun, ai piedi di uno dei luoghi più sacri del paese: la pagoda Kyaiktiyo o Roccia d'Oro. Si trova in cima alla catena montuosa di Yoma e, secondo la leggenda, i pellegrini che compiono il tragitto per tre volte in un anno vengono ricompensati con ricchezze e fortuna.
Il giorno dopo con un altro autobus arrivo a Bago, a circa 3 ore da Kinpun. In questa tranquilla cittadina faccio solo una piccola sosta, giusto il tempo per perdermi tra le sue polverose strade residenziali e per visitare la sua enorme pagoda d’oro, addirittura più grande di quella di Yangon.
Ogni giorno che passa mi accorgo sempre più come in Myanmar la vita di ogni giorno sia scandita dai ritmi della fede, più di qualunque altro luogo io abbia mai visto.
E tra templi, rintocchi di campane, curiosi rituali e veneratissimi serpenti sacri di 120 anni, arriva la sera e così il momento di ripartire, verso Kalaw, non distante dal lago Inle.

Let's head off from Bagan, though not before one more beautiful morning. This time we fly from Bagan to Inle Lake arriving at Heho Airport. It is a 1-hour taxi away which we organized in advance through our accommodation, Serenity Inle Resort. We will be staying the next 3 nights here experiencing the best this resort has to offer, including their overwater bungalows!
