Sri Lankan Mithun Perera ended a four-year winless streak with his hard-earned one-shot victory at the Rs. 30 lakh Chennai Open 2018 Golf Championship at the Madras Gymkhana Club Golf Annexe in Guindy.
Perera (68-63-65-70), the overnight leader by three shots, came up with a tenacious even-par-70 in the final round to sign off with a winning total of 14-under-266.
Gurgaon-based Digvijay Singh (70-66-69-62) posted the final day’s best score, a scorching eight-under-62, to finish joint runner-up at 13-under-267 along with Mukesh Kumar (66-66-69-66) of Mhow, who posted a four-under-66 on day four.
Mithun Perera had an unexpectedly quiet final day as he managed only two birdies and two bogeys. But the 31-year-old came through to win his sixth PGTI title after his closest rival, good friend and compatriot N Thangaraja’s challenge faded away on the back-nine.

The 6479 Yards for Men and 5750 Yards for ladies TNGF Cosmo Golf Course is an interesting and challenging course, undulating, with two large water hazards and heavily wooded with mature tamarind, banyan, flame of the forest, neem and many other varieties of flora. The course has 4 five pars, 4 three pars and the balance 10 holes are four pars. Regulation is 72. The Course Rating is 72 for Men and 77.8 for Ladies and the Slope Rating is 124 for Men and 135 for Ladies.

The countdown for the prestigious Rotary Club of Madras Golf Tournament has begun for this year on 02nd Feburary 2013. It will be held for 2days (02nd and 03rd February
2013). Rotary Club of Madras has been successfully organizing the Corporate Golf Tournament annually with the objective of providing a competitive platform for all commercial, government and services organizations in the city.
The amateur Golf Tournament 2013 held in association with TVH and The Hindu. The champion will be provided with the Tablets India Rolling Trophy. The prize distribution evening will be held at ITC Park Sheraton (Hospitality partner for the event) on February 03rd, 2013.

2016 EXPRESS EXCLUSIVE PRESENTS CHENNAI OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP
The seasoned Mukesh Kumar cruised to a comfortable 11-shot win at the inaugural Express Exclusive presents Chennai Open Golf Championship played at the Madras Gymkhana Club (MGC) Golf Course. It was a record 18th title for Mukesh on the PGTI.
Mukesh, at 51 years and two months of age, also broke his own record of being the oldest player to win on the PGTI. He set the record with his last win on the PGTI in December 2015 when he was 50 years and four months old.
