Driving Downtown 4K - Baltimore's Main Street - USA
Driving Downtown Streets - Baltimore Street - Baltimore Maryland USA - Episode 6.
Starting Point: Baltimore Street & MLK Boulevard - .
Baltimore is the largest city in the U.S. state of Maryland, and the 29th-most populous city in the country. It was established by the Constitution of Maryland[17] and is not part of any county, thus it is the largest independent city in the United States. Baltimore has more public monuments than any other city per capita in the country and is home to some of the earliest National Register historic districts in the nation, including Fell's Point (1969), Federal Hill (1970) and Mount Vernon Place (1971). More than 65,000 properties, or roughly one in three buildings in the city, are listed on the National Register, more than any other city in the nation.[18][19]
Founded in 1729, Baltimore is the second largest seaport in the Mid-Atlantic.[20] Baltimore's Inner Harbor was once the second leading port of entry for immigrants to the United States and a major manufacturing center.[21] After a decline in major manufacturing, industrialization and rail transportation, Baltimore shifted to a service-oriented economy, with the Johns Hopkins Hospital (founded 1889), and Johns Hopkins University (founded 1876), now the city's top two employers.[22]
Baltimore had a population of 621,849 in 2015; in 2010, that of Baltimore Metropolitan Area was 2.7 million, the 21st largest in the country.[23][24] With hundreds of identified districts, Baltimore has been dubbed a city of neighborhoods. Famous residents have included the writers Edgar Allan Poe, Edith Hamilton, Frederick Douglass, and H.L. Mencken; jazz musician James Eubie Blake; singer Billie Holiday; actor and filmmaker John Waters; and baseball player Babe Ruth. In the War of 1812, Francis Scott Key wrote The Star-Spangled Banner, later the American national anthem, in the city.[25] Almost a quarter of the jobs in the Baltimore region are in science, technology, engineering and math, in part attributed to its extensive undergraduate and graduate schools.[26]
Tourism[edit]
Baltimore's history and attractions have allowed the city to become a strong tourist destination on the East Coast. In 2014, the city hosted 24.5 million visitors, who spent $5.2 billion.[180] The Baltimore Visitor Center, which is operated by Visit Baltimore, is located on Light Street in the Inner Harbor. Much of the city's tourism centers around the Inner Harbor, with the National Aquarium being Maryland's top tourist destination. Baltimore Harbor's restoration has made it a city of boats, with several historic ships and other attractions on display and open for the public to visit. The USS Constellation, the last Civil War-era vessel afloat, is docked at the head of the Inner Harbor; the USS Torsk, a submarine that holds the Navy's record for dives (more than 10,000); and the Coast Guard cutter Taney, the last surviving U.S. warship that was in Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941, and which engaged Japanese Zero aircraft during the battle.[181]
Also docked is the lightship Chesapeake, which for decades marked the entrance to Chesapeake Bay; and the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse, the oldest surviving screw-pile lighthouse on Chesapeake Bay, which once marked the mouth of the Patapsco River and the entrance to Baltimore. All of these attractions are owned and maintained by the Historic Ships in Baltimore organization. The Inner Harbor also is the home port of Pride of Baltimore II, the state of Maryland's goodwill ambassador ship, a reconstruction of a famous Baltimore Clipper ship.[181]
Other popular tourist destinations throughout the city include Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Fort McHenry, the Mount Vernon and Fells Point neighborhoods, and museums such as the Walters Art Museum, the Baltimore Museum of Industry, and the B&O Railroad Museum.

10 Facts Movie Theaters Don't Want You to Know
We all love movie theaters for the special feeling they give with fantastic special effects, complete sound immersion and the taste of popcorn. Would you still love them just as much if you found out their secrets movie theater owners don’t want you to know? We’re going to unveil 10 movie theater secrets.
In cinemas, many people can’t always keep their feelings to themselves and that’s normal. For example, a movie about cannibals called Raw appeared to be too hard to watch for a couple of visitors at The Toronto International Film Festival in 2016. The people fainted and one of them hit his head badly during the fall.
Digital devices can do everything on their own, and there are more automatic processes at a cinema than there were during the previous century.
Keep it in mind that in case there are some problems with a projector (the image is blurred, not centered, etc.), you’ll have to stand up and go notify a staff member in the lobby.
20% of the population, including Johnny Depp himself, simply can’t perceive those three dimensions. Harvard Medical School neurobiology professor Dr. Margaret S. Livingstone explains it could be due to stereo-blindness when eyes can’t see in 3D because of the way they are aligned.
If you love cleanliness that much, try to visit the cinema in the morning and avoid going there on Friday and Saturday nights when a lot of other people go out to the movies.

SUMMARY
-Theaters have to pay a lot to film studios in the first two months of distribution so they have to make their money out of concession.
-The cinema staff members who manage to prevent movie theft get a $500 prize.
-The younger generations buy a ticket when two movies start simultaneously, and one of them is not R-rated.
-A movie about cannibals called Raw appeared to be too hard to watch for a couple of visitors at The Toronto International Film Festival in 2016. The people fainted and one of them hit his head badly during the fall.
-One couple stuffed a truckload of food into an infant’s car seat and went to watch a movie. A girl from put some pasta into zip-lock bags and brought them into the cinema with her.
-3D glasses give you an illusion of being inside a movie and it drives your visual analyzer crazy.
-Even though a movie projector has to be programmed during the day, there’s nobody sitting in the booth when you watch a movie.
-A short break between two movies is not enough time for a cinema staff to thoroughly clean up a theater.
-Someone who loves to fight will always find a reason to do so. It could be that someone took someone else’s parking place, they talked on the phone during the movie, or someone is chomping too loudly.
-Thanks to security cameras, movie theater staff can spot and kick out couples that go too far on their “loveseats”.

We Need to Talk About Latin American Cinema | Carlos Gutiérrez | TEDxIndianapolis
How Latin America became an international epicenter of cinema. It’s been almost 20 years since the emergence of the ‘New Argentinean cinema,’ which fostered the arrival of a new generation of filmmakers that would drastically change local modes of production and narratives. The Argentinean case served as inspiration for many Latin American countries, creating an impressive artistic outburst, and breaking film production as well box office records throughout the region. Yet, despite of the greatness of recent Latin American cinema, it remains largely overlooked.
Carlos A. Gutiérrez is a film/video programmer, cultural promoter and arts consultant based in New York City. As a guest curator, he has presented several film/video series at different cultural institutions, including The Museum of Modern Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Film Society of Lincoln Center, and BAMcinématek. Along with Mahen Bonetti, he curated the 53rd edition of the Robert Flaherty Film Seminar. He is a contributing editor to BOMB Magazine and has served as a member of the jury and the selection committees for various film festivals including the Morelia Film Festival, Margaret Mead Film Festival, SANFIC – Santiago Film Festival, and DocsDF, among others. He has served as both expert nominator and panelist for the Rockefeller Fellowship Program for Mexican Film & Media Arts and for The Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative, as well as a screening panelist for the Oscars’ Academy Awards for film students. He holds MA in Cinema Studies from New York University and a BA in Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico City).

Murray, Hudes Lead Residents in Rally to Keep Levittown Movie Theatre Booze-Free
Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Councilman Gary Hudes led residents at a rally they held in opposition to a proposal to sell alcoholic beverages at the AMC Theatres Nassau Metroplex 10 (commonly known as Loews Theatres) in Levittown.
Murray and Hudes are calling on the New York State Liquor Authority to deny AMC's application to sell booze at the theatre. They outlined their disdain for the plan in a letter submitted to the chairman of the state Liquor Authority on December 12th.
Serving liquor to adults at a theatre where parents drop off children for wholesome entertainment is reckless and a recipe for disaster, states Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray.

STORY: Carrie Fisher, who rose to fame as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films and later endured drug addiction and stormy romances with show business heavyweights, died on Tuesday (December 27) aged 60, her daughter said through a family spokesman.
It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning, Lourd said in a statement issued by Simon Halls. She was loved by the world, and she will be missed profoundly.
People in New York City were shocked by the news and offered their condolences.
I mean I'm kind of like, messed up, said Steven Narvaez. You know it comes right on the heels of George Michael. It seems like all the idols and icons of my youth are passing away. The princess is gone, said a Carrie Fisher fan who declined to give his name. There will be nobody like her ever again. Leia lives in everybody's hearts and everybody's soul and it's taken us into the future and beyond. She will be missed.
Oh my gosh, she was a big part of my childhood, it's Princess Leia! She was just a great icon and she will definitely be missed for sure. So that's very sad, very heartbreaking, said Angie Graves.
Fisher, the daughter of actress Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher, who died in 2010, had been in England shooting the third season of the British sitcom Catastrophe.
She suffered a heart attack during a flight on Friday from London to Los Angeles. She was met by paramedics and rushed to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
Her death came a month after the actress and author made headlines by disclosing that she had a three-month love affair with her Star Wars co-star Harrison Ford 40 years ago.
Fisher revealed the secret to People magazine while promoting her new memoir, The Princess Diarist, just before it went on sale. The book is based on Fisher's diaries from her time working on the first Star Wars movie.
Fisher said the affair started and ended in 1976 during production on the blockbuster sci-fi adventure in which she first appeared as the intrepid Princess Leia. Ford played the maverick space pilot Han Solo.
Fisher reprised the role in two Star Wars sequels. She gained sex symbol status in 1983's Return of the Jedi when her Leia character wore a metallic gold bikini while enslaved by the diabolical Jabba the Hutt.
She returned last year in Disney's reboot of the Star Wars franchise, The Force Awakens, appearing as the more matronly General Leia Organa, leader of the Resistance movement fighting the evil

A global power city, New York City has been described uniquely as the cultural, financial, and media capital of the world, and exerts a significant impact upon commerce, entertainment, research, technology, education, politics, tourism, art, fashion, and sports. The city's fast pace has inspired the term New York minute. Home to the headquarters of the United Nations, New York is an important center for international diplomacy.Situated on one of the world's largest natural harbors, New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which is a separate county of the State of New York. The five boroughs – Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island – were consolidated into a single city in 1898. The city and its metropolitan area constitute the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The city and its surroundings came under English control in 1664 and were renamed New York after King Charles II of England granted the lands to his brother, the Duke of York. New York served as the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790. It has been the country's largest city since 1790. The Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to the Americas by ship in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is a world symbol of the United States and its ideals of liberty and peace. In the 21st century, New York has emerged as a global node of creativity and entrepreneurship, social tolerance, and environmental sustainability, and as a symbol of freedom and cultural diversity. Many districts and landmarks in New York City are well known, with the city having three of the world's ten most visited tourist attractions in 2013 and receiving a record 62.8 million tourists in 2017.
