Straight from our archives! Once an icon in Christchurch but sadly taken from us as a result of the 2011 Earthquakes.

In 2017, during the initial de-construction stage of the stadium, we were able to recover some of the product from the south stand. After 17 years under the harsh Canterbury sun our testing showed no measurable difference in photoluminescent performance from the day it was installed!

The same design principles used on this project are still applied today in dozens of stadiums and arenas around the world.

The great Lancaster Park is soon to come down with the seats already taken out and more to come but here we have one last look at the stadium that was home to the Canterbury and Crusasders rugby team, Canterbury cricket and was a fortress for the All Blacks.

Bryce pledges his allegiance to the Crusaders at AMI Stadium

Bryce was given the challenge to go an entire week without an opinion...and there was no surprise when he failed.

So as punishment, it was off to AMI Stadium in Christchurch for the Super Rugby final, where Bryce had to denounce his beloved Hurricanes and pledge allegiance to the Crusaders on their home turf.

It is probably the last time we will see the Deans and Paul Kelly stands before they are totally gone. Lancaster Park will embark on a new journey in the history of Christchurch. One that will help build communities and make this city great again.

This is also New Zealand's biggest demolition.
