On Saturday 14th October 2017 I travelled to the Australian Railway Historical Society's (ARHS) Railway Museum in Newport.
This museum is home to a huge range of steam, diesel and electric locomotives, rollingstock, railtractors and rail cranes. If it was used on the Victorian Railways it is most likely on display at this museum.
In this video you will see most of the loco's on display, as well as some of the other displays at the Museum such as the old North Williamstown signal box.
By chance I happened to be there on the 50th anniversary of R704's last ever run, which meant that I was able to look inside the Driver's cab of the loco.
If you have never been to the Museum I would highly recommend. It is an excellent day out. For those interested here is a link to ARHS victoria where you can find information on the museum:
As always, I hope you enjoy the video!

75th Birthday of H220 and Museum Walkthrough - ARHS Museum
75th Birthday of H220 and Museum Walkthrough
ARHS Museum
Hello Everyone,
Today I have a video to comorate 75 Years of the Biggest Victorian railways Steam Locomotive H220.
Apart of this day the Australian Railway History Society Museum opened their doors with help from the Lions Club to help run this occasion.
Also Included in this video, we have another walkaround the Museum, to see the majority of the other locomotives and stock for show at the museum.
H220 is the Largest Locomotive to Role on the Victorian Railways Tracks. Originally built for the Overland service to Adelaide in which 3 were planned for construction. Due to it's very high axial load, the locomotive was not able to be use on the line, instead it took refuge on the Albury Line travelling with the older know Albury Express. Because of the time of be built was during the War, the 2 other locomotives were stopped in the likes of the K Class which were more versatile than the bigger 4-8-4 locomotives.
In earlier life in 2008 the Locomotive was finally added to the heritage register.

The Enterpize, Williamstown, Victoria - AUSTRALIA
The Enterprize carried the permanent white settlers from Tasmania in the 1830s who set the foundation for a city, now called Melbourne. The filmed ship is a replica of John P. Fawkner's Schooner Enterprize that sailed from Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) at that time. The journey into Port Philip Bay on a beautiful sunny day is a delight, as long as you don't get sea sick :-) Enjoy!

Relaxing at Williamstown Botanic Gardens
Nestled by the sea, complete with rare and significant trees, a formal palm avenue and a charming Edwardian ornamental pond amongst its many attractions, the Williamstown Botanic Gardens, opened in 1860, provides a peaceful setting in which to enjoy a picnic, take a stroll along the intricate pathways or just relax and daydream on the cool green lawns.
An easy 10 minute walk from the ferry service in Commonwealth Reserve and just a few minutes from the Williamstown Beach Railway Station, the gardens have good accessibility with firm gravel paths and facilities nearby.
Williamstown Botanic Gardens are one of Victoria’s first public gardens.
In a newly developing colony, botanic gardens were established as a way of assessing how well familiar plants would grow, as a place for reliving the English landscape and as a place for social outings and walks.
Today the gardens are a place to enjoy the peace and beauty of a mature formal garden and learn about our horticultural heritage.
The gardens:
Northern section - Formal garden beds, lawns and an ornamental pond;
Southern section - Parker Reserve Pinetum, a collection of Pines trees. A popular shady place for picnics.
The gardens are listed on the Victorian Heritage Register as significant for their historical, aesthetic, scientific (horticultural) and social significance to the state of Victoria.

Museum Lost
The Ladysmith Railway Historical Association made a valiant effort hoping to establish a railway museum at Ladysmith on Vancouver Island. But, it was not to be. The video shows their collection stored following their eviction in 1992.
