Andrew G. Clark - Honorary doctorate Aarhus University 2018
Professor Andrew G. Clark from Cornell University has been awarded an honorary doctorate from Aarhus University for his impressive research work on population genetics and genomics over the last 40 years.
Since he was a postdoc student here in the early 1980s, Andrew Clark has maintained ties with Aarhus University. His work within population genetics and genomics is very relevant to the research at the Bioinformatics Research Center (BiRC) at Aarhus University. Since its establishment in 2001, BiRC has worked with him in various important areas – including PhD students who have visited him at Cornell University during their studies.
With the innovative approach he has taken throughout his career, the new honorary doctor has achieved and retained a leading position within his field of research. He has worked in many prestigious scientific organisations, and is a member of the National Academy of Science in the USA.
He has published over 400 articles, mainly in major journals, has been cited over 48,000 times and has an H-index of 87.

Exchange at Aarhus BSS
Two of our exchange students tell about their cultural, social and academic experiences at Aarhus BSS – for instance about hygge, biking, making friends for life and favorite places in Aarhus. Each semester around 200 exchange students from all around the world study a semester or two at Aarhus BSS studying Business, Economics and Business Communication. We offer an attractive and international study environment with a wide range of courses in English - approximately 40 bachelor level courses and 80 master level courses.

Aarhus University Digital Innovation Festival 2019
Aarhus University Digital Innovation Festival 2019 is a new initiative where researchers, industry and students meet around joint activities during a week in April. The focus areas are innovation, collaboration between research and industry and the creation of new interesting research and projects within the digital area. The main organizers of the event are the four primary IT-education institutions at Aarhus University (Department of Engineering, Department of Computer Science, School of Engineering and Department of Communication and Culture).

Living the Danish dream
Angelo Agatino Nicolosi is living his dream in Aarhus, Denmark. Originally from Italy he came to Aarhus, Denmark because of the university and has now stayed on for 10 years. Based on the good working conditions and work-life balance, proximity to nature, friendly and informal atmosphere along with an interesting and motivating career at Danske Bank, Angelo has no doubts regarding his stay in Aarhus: he would do it again 100 times and would even have come earlier.
