Kayaking becomes Sailing along Abel Tasman park, New Zealand Kaiteriteri
During a long kayaking trek with Kaiteriteri Kayak company, we got to become sailers as we put up a sail and breezed along part of the Abel Tasman sea. It was so much fun and nice not to have to paddle for a bit!

The Abel Tasman National Park is New Zealand's smallest national park at 22,350ha. Established in 1942, it is famous for its golden beaches, turquoise waters, native bush walks and spectacular scenery.
There are two walking tracks; the beautiful coastal track which takes 3-5 days to walk the entire length and the more remote inland track through the hilly centre of the park which also takes 3-5 days.
If you dont have time to hike the entire length of the National Park then choose one of our half day or full day unguided walks combing with the Aqua Taxi from Kaiteriteri Beach and Marahau.
Kaiteriteri beach is an idyllic holiday place where many kiwis come to holiday. It is a little seaside town with a very laid back holiday atmosphere. Kaiteriteri is one of New Zealand's premier swimming beaches and is known for its safe, sheltered waters and golden sand. It is great to start your Abel Tasman experience straight off the beach with Aqua Taxi.
Abel Tasman Kayaking | NZ Vlog 13
We took a trip up to Marahau in the Abel Tasman National Park to do some Kayaking in the ocean! We did a day trip with Abel Tasman Kayaks, led by our mate Kyle. Such an awesome day exploring secluded beaches, tiny islands, caves and checking out sunbathing baby fur seals. Our trip was short but we definitely made the most of it!

Kaiteriteri Kayaks
Kaiteriteri Kayaks has been operating guided sea kayaking tours in the Abel Tasman National Park for nearly 20 years.
With every trip we ensure that: safety is a priority; everyone has a relaxed time in an enjoyable atmosphere, and the beautiful environment is respected. Our trips are about great guides and good times, not hard work. For lots of laughs join a trip with the locals!
Over 50 kilometres of coastline offers dozens of golden sand beaches to visit, while the many coves and lagoons provide plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Sea kayaking here also opens up a world of sea and bird life encounters with animals such as penguins and seals. So all in all, you’ve got to say, it’s really not a bad spot!
Abel Tasman National Park By Boat from Kaiteriteri
The Abel Tasman National Park (More Info) was always on our list of places to see and things to do in New Zealand. We only have enough time to spend a day there so we decide to get a fast boat rather than walk 2-3 hours into the park.

Kaiteriteri | Abel Tasman National Park | Anchorage Bay
The beautiful golden sand and pristine water of Kaiteriteri is just 13 min drive from Riwaka. We Stayed at Riwaka Retreat and It was a beautiful cottage with a beautiful host Maree. As we had only one day here, we decided to do a short Pitt Head Loop track. We took an aqua taxi from Kaiteriteri to Anchorage Bay. We enjoyed our time at Anchorage bay and Te Pukatea Bay.
There are many Bays on Abel Tasman National Park coast where you can reach by Aqua taxi, Kayaking, sailing, cruising, etc.

Today we are joining Abel Tasman Eco Tours for an Abel Tasman National Park Boat Tour! We are cruising the Abel Tasman National Park and beach-hopping to learn more about the amazing natural environment of the Abel Tasman National Park, plus, see some stunning landscapes. The tour is called the “Golden Future Boat Tour” with Abel Tasman Eco Tours.
We join the Abel Tasman Boat Tour at Marahau where we launch into the water and get on our way to Split Apple Rock in the Abel Tasman National Park. We learn about to biodiversity and how split apple rock was formed from our knowledgeable guide, Stu.
We visit a few islands with seal and shag colonies before making our way to Te Pukatea Bay in the Abel Tasman National Park. We have some cakes and coffee on the beach before starting a bush walk or hike in the Abel Tasman National Park. We hike up to an epic viewpoint where we also learn more about the native vegetation and conservation work in the Abel Tasman National Park.
We visit two other beaches on this trip, one where we stop for lunch in a nice secluded spot and mingle with our fellow tour-goers. Our Abel Tasman Eco Tours guide also shows us some starfish and other marine creatures found on the beach.

Kayaking in Kaiteriteri
December 29, 2013
The only depressing part of our entire trip. Horrible service from the kayaking company.
