Great 2 day trip in Osaka and some good motivation to spend more time in Osaka this year.
Osaka is a place I highly recommend to visit if you are in Asia. I actually would recommend if it’s your first time to Asia to start here. There are plenty of cheap flight options here with budget airlines such as Scoot, Air Asia, so it’s much cheaper to start your Asia journey opposed to Tokyo here if finances is a hurdle.

Abe no Seimei Pt 3 - Seimei Shrine Osaka (大阪市の安倍晴明神社)
Abeno Seimei Shrine, in Abenoku, Osaka-shi, is the 2nd of the two places in the Kansai that claim to be Abe no Seimei’s birthplace. Like the main shrine in Kyoto (which was built on the spot of Seimei’s home, this shrine was also commissioned by the Emperor in 1007. Currently, it is a small neighborhood shrine, in a fraction of the original space. But it is a popular spot and many people in Osaka come here for fortune telling, which is still a part of onmyōdō practices.

天王寺公園の広場全体を使った初めてのイルミネーションイベント、「あべの・天王寺イルミナージュ」。東日本大震災の復興支援事業として行われるこのイベントでは、高さ15mのシンボルツリーや、夜の動物園を表現したミッドナイト・サファリ、全長100mの光のトンネル、レインボー・プロムナードなど趣向を凝らしたイルミネーションが楽しめる。

Abenobashi Terminal Building (阿部野橋ターミナルビル) is a multi-purpose commercial facility in Abenosuji Itchome, Abeno-ku, Osaka, Japan. It consists of the New Annex (新館) (main tenants: Osaka Abenobashi Station, Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store Wing Building), Eastern Annex (東館) (Tennoji Miyako Hotel), and a 300 m (984 ft) tall skyscraper Abeno Harukas (あべのハルカス).
The reconstruction began in January 2010, and opened on March 7, 2014. The building is 300 meters tall and has 62 floors, making it the tallest building in Japan.
It is the planned alternative station building of Ōsaka Abenobashi Station, the terminal of Kintetsu Minami Osaka Line. Its floor space is around 100,000 square meters, making it the biggest department store in Japan. It contains the new Main Store of Kintetsu Department Store, Marriott International hotel, and new headquarters office of Sharp Corporation.

Japan's Tallest Building - Abeno Harukas 300 Observatory Walk Around - Osaka 2019
Walking around the Harukas 300 observation deck of the Abeno Harukas building; the tallest building in Japan. Abeno Harukas is the third tallest structure in japan, and the tallest skyscraper. From what I've been told, the differentiating factor between a structure and a building is that Abeno Harukas is a functional structure that houses many businesses and shopping, unlike Tokyo Skytree or Tokyo Tower, which are strictly towers. From the observation deck, you can see for miles around in every direction without any obstructions! There is also a open air court in the middle of the observatory to have a coffee and relax 300m in the sky.
