Abijatta-Shalla National Park, Ethiopia
Abijatta-Shalla National Park in East Shewa Zone, Ethiopia, comprises the Rift Valley lakes of Abijatta and Shalla. It is 887 square kilometres wide, with 482 square kilometres being covered by the lakes' water.
This national park is home to a few species of wildlife such as Grant's Gazelle, Ostrich and Warthog. Visitors to the park can drive in their own private vehicles to view the wildlife in their natural setting.

Ethiotrail at Abijata Shalla Lakes National Park
The first Ethiopian trail running eventwill take place in AbijataShalla Lakes National Park on August 17, 2014and aims to promote tourism and conservation in Ethiopian National Parks. The event is expected to draw more than 250 Ethiopian and international trail runners.

Estos dos lagos, Abijata y Shalla, separados por una franja en colina, hace unos 5.000 años, estuvieron unidos formando un único lago llamado Gana. El Shalla ocupa una vieja caldera volcánica e incluye pequeñas islas. Es recomendable recorrerlos con un guía armado.

Somewhere between Lake Chitu and Lake Shalla in Abijata-Shalla National Park, Ethiopia. We arrived the night prior on the narrowest road on a cliff side and stayed in some rather spartan conditions and ate who knows what type of food....but the view was absolutely worth it.
