Kicked out at Abiquiu Lake NM, June 2017
Heading N. 200 miles to cooler temps in N. New Mex. Quick run through of Abiquiu Lake Campground and boat launch. Found an awesome spot up above the lake on Corp of Engineers land ( I checked the map) right at sunset. Next morning a local was banging on my door and said it was their access to the lake and private. They were nice about it, so I packed up and moved across the lake. First time I've been kicked out of a camping spot, so I guess that's a pretty good record.......:)

Echo Amphitheater - Abiquiu New Mexico
The Echo Amphitheater Trail is a local favorite. Schools, RV Clubs, and other visitors take advantage of the covered picnic areas and trail. The concrete trail from the parking lot meanders to Echo Canyon.
The trail ascends at a moderately easy pace. The last part of the trail has steep stairs leading up to the Echo Canyon.
Rocks are a natural habitat for snakes, so stay on the trail and off the rocks.

Purple Adobe Lavender Farm, Abiquiu, NM
Welcome to Purple Adobe Lavender Farm, an eco-sensitive, lifestyle business over 15 years in the making. It is a residential haven, a visitor's destination and a producer of all-natural bath, body & culinary products. The 22 acre working farm offers a holistic way of life for new owners. You can live in the attractively remodeled 2 bedroom residence & oversee the on-site gift store, cafe, nurseries & workshop. A second home is available for your farm manager and/or office staff. The farm is located in a verdant valley with views of mountains & mesas. It is an inspired setting with 800 ft of Chama river frontage. An extensive irrigation system tied to 3 wells feeds the mature lavender plants, rose bushes & fruit trees. Events & farm tours bring visitors from around the country. They enjoy the lavender-based teas, sorbets & baked goods at the cafe. They are often first introduced to the spa-quality bath products at the gift store & then replenish their supplies through the website or at the NM retailers that carry these products. The development work is complete. Several revenue streams & product lines have been developed. According to the organic farming community, the market for lavender is where the domestic wine industry was two decades ago. This farm & its high-quality, aromatherapeutic-grade lavender will put new owners in a position to take advantage of this trend for years.

New Mexico Land For Sale: 2.5 Acres, Middle Mesa, San Juan County, NM
San Juan, New Mexico | 2.5 Acres | $8,000
Located just north of the Navajo Marina, this 2.5 acre lot is a perfect place to build your summer cabin or vacation getaway as it will put you in easy driving distance of all the great boating, fishing and water sports available nearby. Another nice thing about this land is its proximity to all the other great outdoor recreation activities offered in the nearby counties. If you ever get tired of taking your boat or jet ski to the marina, you can drive east to adjacent Rio Arriba County and explore the El Vado, Heron and Abiquiu Lakes. This property doesn't have to be seasonal and enjoyed only in the summer months, however. In the winter you can take advantage of the world famous Taos Ski Valley which is less than two hours to your east, or Telluride, which is just across the Colorado border and less than an hour and a half to your north. Best of all is that this property sits in one of the unincorporated areas of the county, meaning there are no Planning & Zoning restrictions and the indiscriminate parking of and living out of an RV is perfectly legal.
