First Day in Ilha Grande, Brazil - Around Abraão Village and Making a Caipirinha at the Resort

After about a 2 hour drive from Rio and another 45 minute boat ride, we've arrived on the island paradise of Ilha Grande - in English, literally Big Island. This island is paradise defined - secluded, quiet, beautiful beaches with clear, warm water, all backed by amazing mountains with rain forest scenery.

These clips were all taken the first day - we start off in the village of Abraão, or Abraham, and continue toward Black Beach, named for the volcanic ash sand seen on the small, rocky yet beautiful beach. Afterward, we head back to our resort and sit on the balcony taking in this view - en route we picked up supplies to make our own caipirinhas!

Ilha Grande | Drone | Diving | Surfing in Brazil - Rio de Janeiro | Best shots

We had awesome days in Ilha Grande, Rio de Janeiro Brazil. We rented some surfboards and went surfing, we have been scuba diving and seen thousands of fishes. We dived with corals at the reefs and touched sea turtles. We have been capturing the best shots of wonderful beaches with our DJI Drone, went through the jungle and spotted monkeys. It was the perfect paradise!

The island of Ilha Grande is situated 250 kilometers west of Rio de Janeiro, in the bay of Angra dos Reis and is 29 km long and 12 km wide. The car-free island is full of lush vegetation and surrounded by 86 beautiful beaches. The interior of the island or the surrounding beaches can be explored by boat or small trails. For most of the visitors the starting point is the island capital of Vila do Abraão.
