Апшеронский национальный парк - Absheron National Park | Film Studio Aves
Этот фильм - результат трехлетних съемок операторов Film Studio Aves в Апшеронском национальном парке, Азербайджан (азерб. Abşeron Milli Parkı).

20,000 old craving in Gobustan National Park , Baku - Absheron Peninsula (Baku), Azerbaijan
''Gobustan State Reserve located west of the settlement of Gobustan, about 40 miles (64 km) southwest of the centre of #Baku was established in 1966 when the region was declared as a national historical landmark of Azerbaijan in an attempt to preserve the ancient carvings, mud volcanoes and gas-stones in the region.
Gobustan State Reserve is very rich in #archeological monuments, the reserve has more than 6,000 #rockcarvings, which depict primitive people, animals, battle-pieces, ritual dances, bullfights, boats with armed oarsmen, warriors with lances in their hands, camel caravans, pictures of sun and stars, on the average dating back to 5,000-20,000 years.
#Gobustan State Historical and Cultural Reserve acquired national status in 2006. As a part of the 31st Session of the #UNESCO World Legacy Committee held in Christchurch, New Zealand on June 23 - July 2, 2007 included within the World Social Legacy List''
Gobustan & Mud Volcanoes ???????? | Day trip from Baku
During my visit to the capital of Azerbaijan, I also took a day trip around Absheron peninsula to some of the nearby attractions.
I decided to book an organized group tour, as public transport outside of Baku appears to be rather inconvenient. Be advised that prices and packages may vary substantially.
I ended up paying 50 manat, around 25 euros, but I was quoted up to 130 manat, so shop around when you are in town!
The first stop was Gobustan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient petroglyphs, or rock carvings, which depict animals, humans, chasing scenes, ritual dances and other things. Most of the rock carvings are estimated to be 5,000-20,000 years old. There is also a museum showcasing the history of the region and some exhibits.
My next stop took me to the nearby mud volcanoes, which are located on a nearby hill which can only be accessed by 4x4 vehicles. The 15 minute ride to the top was quite a bumpy experience.
Azerbaijan is home to around 300 of the world's estimated 700 mud volcanoes. They are not actual volcanoes, as there is no lava involved, but rather formed by the eruption of mud from deep below the Earth's surface.
Azerbaijan is often called The Land of Fire because of its seemingly endless reserve of natural gas. In some places, there are flames that keep on burning for decades or even longer.
One of those places is the Ateshgah Fire Temple, just east of Baku. For many centuries, this site was the holy place for Zoroastrians, a fire worshipping religion and also for Hindus.
The present structure dates from the 17th century and was built around a flame that was thought to be eternal, but went out in the mid-19th-century. At that time, pilgrims interpreted this as punishment by the gods so the site was abandoned and neglected. Some decades ago, the temple was renovated and turned into a museum for tourists, including an artificial flame.
However, there is one place outside of Baku where you can still see a natural gas fire in action. Yanar dag, meaning Burning Mountain, has been on fire since the 1950s and the flame never went out.
Coming back to Baku in the late afternoon, I had the chance to take pictures of the Heydar Aliyev Center, an arts museum and conference center designed by Zaha Hadid. Its distinctive architecture made this building the symbol of modern Baku.
On the whole, this was perhaps not the most spectacular day trip I've ever made, but it was still interesting to spend some hours outside of Baku and broaden my understanding of the history and culture of Azerbaijan.

7 Secrets of the Absheron
Visions of Azerbaijan editor Tom Marsden offers a somewhat alternative guide to exploring the Absheron Peninsula.
He tours the historic Baku-Sabunchu-Surakhany railway line and the salt-producing Lake Masazyr and eats delicious qutabs in Jorat. He views dachas of oil barons including Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, Shamsi Asadullayev, Musa Naghiyev and Murtuza Mukhtarov (now the Sergey Yesenin house museum) in Mardakan. He bravely tries the mystical treatment of childagh at the Mir Movsum Agha mausoleum in Mardakan, visits the otherworldly island of Pirallahi, and hikes in the Caspian Seal sanctuary of the Absheron National Park.

Incredible and unique wonders of Baku
Within 15 miles (25 km) of Baku there are beautiful places such as Yanar Dag, the Eternally Burning Mountain of Azerbaijan, and the XII century Ramana Castle. Yanar Dag is a 380 feet (116 meters) hill located on top of a pocket of natural gas that constantly erupts into flames. These flames can jet out at least 9.8 feet (three meters) into the air, through a porous layer of sandstone. Unlike the mud volcanoes of Azerbaijan, Yanar Dag contains gas and oil but has no seepage of mud or liquid, so the fire always burns. The flames continue through the rain and snow and are believed to have been burning non-stop for 4,000 years.
Azerbaijan is a nation with enormous oil and gas reserves, much near the surface. Therefore, steady gas emissions from the underlying soils cause the surface of the land to sometimes erupt in flames.
Ramana Castle, a beautifully preserved old fortress that dates back to the 12th century is just minutes from Yanar Dag. Besides the castle there are many oil pumps in the surrounding area.
The Gobustan National Park ( which is located about 40 miles (64 km) south of Baku, is another exceptional place to visit. It is known for the many large mud volcanoes in the area and home of the famous rock petroglyphs that are millennia old – one of the three the Stone Age’s. In 2007, UNESCO awarded Gobustan a World Heritage Site designation for its “rock art” engravings, as well as its prehistoric and Bronze Age sites, ancient sanctuaries, and associations with traditions, ideas and beliefs.

A national park is a park in use for conservation purposes. Often it is a reserve of natural, semi-natural, or developed land that a sovereign state declares or owns. Although individual nations designate their own national parks differently, there is a common idea: the conservation of wild nature for posterity and as a symbol of national pride.
An international organization, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and its World Commission on
Protected Areas, has defined National Park as its Category II type of protected areas.
While this type of national park had been proposed previously, the United States established the first public park or pleasuring-ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people, Yellowstone National Park, in 1872. Although Yellowstone was not officially termed a national park in its establishing law, it was always termed such in practice and is widely held to be the first and oldest national park in the world. Some would say that the first official
national park to be designated as such at its creation was Mackinac Island, legislated in 1875. Australia's Royal
National Park, established in 1879, was the world's third official national park. In 1895 ownership of Mackinac Island was transferred to the State of Michigan as a state park and national park status was consequently lost. As a result Australia's Royal National Park is by some considerations the second oldest national park now in existence.
The largest national park in the world meeting the IUCN definition is the Northeast Greenland National Park, which was established in 1974. According to the IUCN, 6,555 national parks worldwide met its criteria in 2006. IUCN is still discussing the parameters of defining a national park.
National parks are almost always open to visitors. Most national parks provide outdoor recreation and camping opportunities as well as classes designed to educate the public on the importance of conservation and the natural wonders of the land in which the national park is located.
