Achankovil is a river in Kerala, India, created towards the southern tip of the peninsula by the confluence of the Rishimala, Pasukidamettu, and Ramakkalteri Rivers. The Anchankovil enriches the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala state. It joins with the Pamba River at Veeyapuram, in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. Achankovil is also the name of the forest area, which is the catchment area for this river, and of a small town situated in the Achenkovil forest area. The Achankovil village is not easily accessible; however, it can be reached through forest routes.

Pandalam Completely Submerged As Achankovil River Overflows| Mathrubhumi News
Pandalam: Heavy flooding is witnessed in Pandalam due to the increase in water level of the Achankovil river. According to reports, the area is under water. Rescue efforts are going on in full swing and the road traffic on MC Road is completely disrupted. Water in Pandalam area started rising from morning. Areas which were not affected with water till last night were suddenly immersed this morning. The undercurrents that is seen in rivers is witnessed here in the place. Many people have been stranded and trapped in houses. Shops remain closed and roads look deserted and completely submerged. The local people only pray that boats are put into service to save the rescued people.
