Above the modern town of Lindos (Rhodes Island, Greece), rises the acropolis of Lindos, a natural citadel which was fortified successively by the Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines, the Knights of St John and the Ottomans.

The remains of Acropolis of Lindos can be found in the ancient town of Lindos, south of Rhodes town. The ruins demonstrate the wealth of the town where the temple would have stood in the 4th century.
3000 years of history , an incredible landscape. Here Cleoboulos, one of the seven sages of ancient Greece lived and ruled.
While Rome was a small Etruscan village, Lindos was a centre of civilized life, or art and culture.
The temple of LINDIA Athena was built by Cleoboulos in 550 B.C. and rebuild in the 3rd century B.C. in the form you see today.

In February 2008, My husband and I spent our honeymoon on the ill~fated ship, the Costa Concordia. During one of the day trip excursions, we had the opportunity to visit the Island of Rhodes.
