Kimolos (4K) / Greece Travel Vlog #263 / The Way We Saw It
Last island on our Cycladic Tour in 2019 is the island of Kimolos. Often discarded next to its bigger sister Milos, Kimolos has a lot of charm, a picturesque Chora and beautiful beaches. Alongside with great food, this will certainly be remembered by us as a joyful discovery.
Join us on the discovery of Kimolos, the upcoming destination in the Cyclades.

Anafi (4K) / Greece Travel Vlog #260 / The Way We Saw It
Our first Cycladic Island on this years tour is Anafi, a small island east from Santorini, in Greece. This island has a long time been on our list and now we finally get to visit it. We stayed one week and three extra days due to high winds that stopped the whole ferry traffic on the Aegean Sea. Not a bad place to get stuck, so we enjoyed our extra days fully.
Join us on the discovery of one of Anafi, one the smallest and most remote Cycladic Islands in Greece.

Giant Huda started out as a spontaneous music project by singer-songwriter, composer, live musician and probably travel addict Josh Houseman (the guy in the video). With the project bringing forth two albums the next natural step was to document the travels and spirit that spawned Giant Huda in the first place with videos. Giant Huda Travels...

WE DIDN’T PLAN WELL FOR THIS! Catching the ferry from Athens to Crete
This was the first time we caught a ferry while in Greece. In hindsight we could have planned this journey a lot better. Our tickets said Pireus to Chania, so we assumed the ferry would end in the town of Chania….have you heard the saying ‘if you assume, you make an ass out of you and me’? Our first moments in Crete were not as smooth as we had hoped!
Drama aside, we’re finally in Crete and we can’t wait to pick up our rental car so we can start exploring this large island!

Mykonos city traffic in the summer
In the heat of July and the tourist season, Mykonos city (Cyclades, Greece) is much more a busy town with crazy traffic, than a quiet Cycladic island capital. The area around the bus station is especially loud and busy.

GREECE Cliff Jump in Corfu - Trip Report
On a recent Celebrity cruise on the Celebrity Equinox, we stopped in Greece. Corfu or Korfu for a day long excursion. This video highlights our swimming at the La Gratta Lounge and Pub where I found a way to scale the rock face and jump off of a 50 foot tall cliff into the beautiful Green / Blue water. Niki had rented a boat for us and we went on a tour of all the local sites which you could only see by water. There was an adorable lovers cove / beach. We also went to the Blue Cove which was just amazing, you can't believe the color of this water unless you are there. This is a definite must do for any future Greece trip. Additionally if you want to rent a boat for a day trip like this, Paliaokastritsa is the Village to find the best deals!

Milos Island with ATV
On today's adventure of gypC and klaccik we're taking you through Milos Island with ATV. We went to Milos Island for Honeymoon about 6 months ago and it's currently our favorite island. We thought Santorini won that prize until we went to Milos. Santorini is also beautiful island but Milos had so much more to offer, it's no wonder the locals prefer it.
Santorini vs Milos
So the first thing we noticed in Milos Island compared to Santorini is that the hotel and restaurants were more professional. This is surprising since Santorini is more touristy I expected for service to be better then in Milos. In Santorini most places have wifi but you have to ask for the password and is very annoying doing that every place you go. In Milos every place had the wifi password displayed clearly all over so you don't have to ask. The hotel concierge gave us a few extra things to make our stay more comfortable which we didn't even have to ask for. There were a lot more greek speaking visitors in this island which let me know that local greek people come here to vacation. Actually my first time in Santorini back in 2006, we asked a local which island he would recommend and Milos was one of them.
The Beaches!
By far the best part of Milos is the plethora of unique beaches from organized to non-organized. So an organized beach is the typical beaches and what most people are used to, with umbrella, beach chairs, bar etc. Unorganized beach in Greece is like Papafragas or Sarakiniko, two of my favorite beaches. Papafragas is a split in a mountain with a beach in the middle. It has crystal clear water, really soft sand and tons of small fish to look at. Sarakiniko is another unorganized beauty, most people say it looks like a moon creator. It's also kind of a split in the mountain but the mountains are snow white, never seen anything like it before. it's one thing to have white sand but snow white sand and mountains with turquoise blue water is amazing. There reason I like the unorganized beach besides the fact that it was very unique is that it was cleaner and quieter. Not too many kids to throw garbage on the water and no bar so no empty bottles littering the beach. When I went to the organized beaches the water was dirtier and can't snorkel as well as the other beaches.
ATV in Milos
We rented an ATV while we were there so we can cover a lot of ground in a short time. We would start pretty early and ride to a beach, go for a swim and get back on the road and head to another beach and repeat. There are over 45 beaches in Milos and I'm certain we covered about 80% in 4 days. It was a very busy honeymoon but it was defiantly the right place for adventure seekers like us. So if you go to Milos island I would recommend renting a ATV instead of a car if you're the adventurous type because some of the roads are only accessible by bike or ATV (4 wheeler). Unlike renting a motor cycle you don't need a special license to drive an ATV just your regular driver license.
Overall we really enjoyed Milos and defiantly going back. In fact it's the runner up for anniversary trip for a redo of this magnificent island. I would defiantly recommend to families or just couples versus going to Santorini or Mykonos which can turn into a party island during peak seasons. There will be more videos on Milos island coming up. We sailed around the entire island and went to all the beach and caves so check back for those videos soon.
