New Romney Railway (1966)
New Romney, Kent.
M/S of a model steam train (a third of life-size) of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway standing on a track; a name plate on the side of the train reads 'Winston Churchill'. As the train starts to move off we see the driver, squashed into the cab, showing how small the train is.
Various shots show trains on 'The World's Smallest Railway' being polished and driven along the tracks; passengers look rather cramped in the little carriages; they get on and off the train at a scaled down platform. Several shots of the train steaming along through the countryside and past a caravan site; children look out of the carriages as they zip by.
Commentator tells us that during the war, the German air force thought it was important enough to send their bombers on a raid after raid to put it out of action, but their total toll was one engine derailed.
Cuts exist - see separate record.

TPE Nova 3 (Class 68 & Mark 5a) action - 26th September 2019 (4K)
Took a trip to Liverpool and Manchester for the day and hoped to score a ride in both directions on TransPennine Express' new Nova 3 trains that entered service last month. I was not let down.
Footage of the Nova 3 and other trains were captured at Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Victoria and Edge Hill, plus a quick couple of clips at Bidston.

Ghost stations is the usual English translation for the German word Geisterbahnhöfe. This term was used to describe certain stations on Berlin's U-Bahn and S-Bahn metro networks that were closed during the period of Berlin's division during the Cold War. Since then, the term has come to be used to describe any disused station on an underground railway line, especially those actively passed through by passenger trains.
An abandoned (or disused) railway station is a building or structure which was constructed to serve as a railway station but has fallen into disuse. There are various circumstances when this may occur - a railway company may fall bankrupt, or the station may be closed due to the failure of economic activitiy such as insufficient passenger numbers, operational reasons such as the diversion or replacement of the line. In some instances, the railway line may continue in operation while the station is closed. Additionally, stations may sometimes be resited along the route of the line to new premises - examples of this include opening a replacement station nearer to the centre of population, or building a larger station on a less restricted site to cope with high passenger numbers.

A new Children's Ambulance Service for the East of England
Addenbrooke’s is the Paediatric Intensive Care Centre for the East of England admitting approximately 3,500 children every year.
If a child has a serious illness or needs emergency treatment then they will need transporting in an ambulance.
However, while adults and newborn babies who need intensive care treatment are blue-lighted by dedicated, specialist ambulance services, there is currently no such ambulance service in the East of England specifically for critically ill children.
Children have significantly different needs to newborns and adults and are best served by a dedicated children’s ambulance.
Instead, today, hundreds of children requiring urgent transportation to an Intensive Care Unit have to rely on a London-based service to transport them. This can cause delays in treatment and anxiety for worried parents or carers. It can also result in delayed transfers back to their local hospital for their final stages of recovery, increasing the time they’re separated from friends and family.
Help us raise funds for an Emergency Children's Ambulance that will benefit on average 1,700 children a year. act4addenbrookes.org.uk/chariots

BRITISH STANDARD LOCOMOTIVE PANORAMA
Following Nationalisation in 1948 the Standard locomotives were introduced by British Railways from 1951 onwards using, what was thought to be, the best locomotive practices of the of the 'Big Four' companies i.e GWR, SR, LMS and LNER.
Thankfully, a large number of the locomotives have been preserved and this video, the third in Parsound's Panorama series, features all the various classes apart from the 77XXX and 84XXX for which no images were readily available. Here we see the engines in action on heritage and main lines, plus some which are under construction or restoration, in both moving and still formats.
As a matter of interest, the 2-10-0 9F Class was originally proposed as a 2-8-2. An interesting live steam model, showing what might have been, appears in RJAS 365 video:

Urban Exploration: Abandoned Train Station in Lydd Kent . UK April 2017 (inside the station as well)
One of my favourite abandoned stations
Lydd Town Station (formerly Lydd Station) (Closed) and Lydd Town Crossing
Opened on 7 December 1881 as Lydd Station, on 4 July 1937 the station was renamed Lydd Town to prevent confusion with a newly opened station at Lydd-on-Sea.
Lydd Town Station was a substantial facility, with a large goods yard and much passenger and freight traffic generated by nearby army camps. A branch ran south from the goods yard into the army camps, which were served by Lydd Military Railway. A passing loop was provided at the station, but this has subsequently been lifted. The station was closed to passenger traffic on 6 March 1967 and to freight on 4 October 1971. Part of the site is now used as a recycling facility. There is a possibility that gravel extraction will restart south of the station, and, if so, the passing loop may be reinstated to allow locomotives to change ends and shunt the train.
If open today Lydd Town Station would serve a growing town, which is just south west of the site, and a short extension to the line could also provide much improved transport facilities to Lydd Airport (also known as London Ashford), linking directly to Ashford International Station.
The branch actually runs south east from Appledore. The convention adopted in these collections is that Appledore is north, Dungeness is south, the New Romney side of the branch is east, and the Lydd side of the branch

East Coast Main Line Trains at Stevenage on September 28th 2019
So after filming at Peterborough as a bonus I decided to film at Stevenage which is another station 1st time visited.
Featuring LNER, Great Northern, Thameslink, Grand Central and Hull Trains.
Stevenage first opened on July 23rd 1973 eventhough its located further away from the town centre. Originally before opening of Stevenage, the intermidate stop for intercity services between London Kings Cross and Peterborough was Hitchin the next stop up the line towards Peterborough.
The station today served by Thameslink and Great Northern under Govia Thameslink Railway services from Cambridge and Peterborough as well as LNER services from Newark North Gate, York and hourly Leeds Services.
Hull Trains mostly run non stop here however the only occasional stop they make is mostly Sundays with 1st stop for their services to Hull or Beverley is Grantham.
At the time of filming a new platform 5 was being constructed to enable Great Northern services from Moorgate to terminate separately to enable stopping services on the mainline to use Platform 4 without delay.
As a result most services via Hertford North were being terminated at Hertford North or Walton-at-Stone.
Class 717s built similar to the Class 700s on Thameslink although with a few differences with the front cab door being fitted for use in emergency especially underground between Drayton Park and Moorgate. These replace the Class 313s which was withdrawn from Great Northern after 43 years of service 2 days after filming on Monday September 30th having been in service since 1976.
The Class 43 HSTs were in their final months of operation on the East Coast Main Line which are gradually being replaced by Class 800/1 Azumas whilst the Class 91s which are due to be withdrawn by June 2020 will be replaced by Class 801s.
The difference between the two is that Class 800/1s can also run in biomode similar to the Class 800s and 802 IETs on GWR whilst the Class 801s are electric only with services running between London Kings Cross and Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow Central via Motherwell although services may go to Stirling having been recently being electrified.

Anglian Loco Haulage - GA Class 90 + Mk3 | STANDARD CLASS | Trip Report
Hi, welcome back to another video on the channel.
Today's video is focused on the Class 90 + Mk3 sets operated by Greater Anglia. This was a bit of an impromptu video, having only being decided a few seconds before the train pulled into the station. In any case, I wouldn't want to miss the opportunity, with just a few months of these trains in operation (their planned replacement, the Stadler FLIRT Class 745 giving off very good first impressions).
For this video I am travelling in Standard Class, with a seperate video for First Class coming at a later point. I will always enjoy a 90, they are great locomotives.
