MAMEA Mini-Conference - Kayak timelapse down Delaware's Cedar Creek
A quick look at a kayak trip teachers took during Delaware's Springtime Coastal Ecology MAMEA Mini-Conference in June 2015. Special thanks to guides from Delaware State Parks for leading the excursion!
Participating educators also enjoyed a program at the DuPont Nature Center and an up-close look at shorebirds and spawning horseshoe crabs.

First Time Kayak Crabbing! Rehoboth Bay in Delaware
I only kept 8 crabs culled at 5.25 inches and threw back 4 that were above 5 inches. Unfortunately having a stomach bug I only crabbed from 7:45AM til 9:15AM. This was plenty of time for me to find out what in my setup I needed to change, and what worked really well so I am very excited for the next go around. If anyone has any suggestions other than a new net (lol) let me know what I should add! Feel free to subscribe for more videos coming!

FAMILY BEACH VIBES Bethany Beach Delaware
VLOG 370 08/01 - We've had a busy summer so far, but there's always time for a quick trip to the beach! This year, we were invited by our friends from Pittsburgh to stay with them at Bethany Beach. I have so many fond memories of family beach vacations in the Delmarva area, but this is the first time I've ever stayed at Bethany. It's a bit crowded, but not annoyingly so unlike Ocean City. It reminds me a bit of Rehoboth but much smaller with a small beach town vibe. Everyone was very polite and the environment is family friendly. I highly recommend this area if you've got a big group with lots of children. Stay away if you're in your 20's and looking for some action.
Bethany Beach is a small coastal town in Delaware. It’s known for its wide, boardwalk-backed beach. North of town, Delaware Seashore State Park is a barrier island with miles of beaches between Rehoboth and Indian River bays and the Atlantic Ocean. To the south, Fenwick Island State Park has dunes and a surf area. The shoreline, fields and forests of Holts Landing State Park attract birdlife like herons and osprey.

December 21, 2017 New Jersey/Delaware Bay Fishing Report with Jim Hutchinson, Jr.
The Feast of the Seven Fishes is an Italian-American tradition that celebrate Christmas Eve with a full menu of fish and seafood; if you’re interested in putting your own seven-fish line-up together, try giving this a shot.
Small STRIPED BASS are in the wash in good numbers, though the best bet for a keeper is still jigging, plugging or trolling just offshore from Manasquan Inlet south to Fenwick Island.
TAUTOG has been a pick, but the fish coming aboard of late have been good size, with several upper teen tog registered since last week - a couple of big COD taken on the structure too.
It’s the final week of BLACK SEA BASS fishing for awhile which has put boats offshore on the humpback grounds in these last days; the bulkhead brigade too knows that WINTER FLOUNDER are in with just days before the 2017 closure to put a couple of sweet and tasty filets aside for the weekend.
HERRING action for party boats starts right after the Christmas holiday, and the presence of those delicious pickling baits has brought the BLUEFIN in closer (though our reports this week finds guys trolling for bluefin 10 miles or more offshore finding it hard to get away from the stripers out there on the herring schools!)

Catching a Bushel of Mumbo's! Chester River, Maryland
Hope you guys enjoyed the video! First trip down the Chester River this year and it did not disappoint. Crabbing in the fall is by far our favorite and when you are catching 7-8 crabs it doesn't get any better. Not sure how many more trips we have left this year, switched up the style a bit and leaving out the editing on this one, as much as I'd love to throw it together, just didn't have the footage I needed to make something worth the watch!

October 1, 2015 New Jersey/Delaware Bay Fishing Report with Jim Hutchinson, Jr.
All eyes are on the National Weather Service and Hurricane Joaquin as it churns itself northward up the Atlantic.
As of Thursday morning, Joaquin was a Category 3 storm approaching the Bahamas with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph with hurricane strength winds extending 35 miles; how this impacts the immediate coast of Delaware and New Jersey by Monday into Tuesday is still anyone’s guess, but more than a week of sustained onshore winds and heavy seas have not be especially accommodating to local anglers.
There have been a few windows of opportunity to fish in recent days, particularly those looking for striped bass in the churning surf. Along every stretch of beachfront from Monmouth County down to Cape May County stripers are being dragged up on the sand, primarily on plugs though baits are producing when you can get enough weight to hold bottom.
Cocktail blues are racing through the inlets and providing casters with a tug on the line, and early in the week some boat anglers escaped the wind in the back bay by hitting up blowfish for the dinner table.
As you consider battening down the hatches in advance of the storm, surfcasters may find the advancing heave triggers good action with bass and blues to start the weekend wherever safe and fishable water can be found.
Action was down throughout the region this past weekend, and will certainly be the same this weekend - but the latest, most comprehensive fishing reports in the entire region appear weekly in The Fisherman Magazine and online at

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Delaware ( (listen)) is one of the 50 states of the United States, in the Mid-Atlantic or Northeastern region. It is bordered to the south and west by Maryland, to the north by Pennsylvania, and to the east by New Jersey and the Atlantic Ocean. The state takes its name from Thomas West, 3rd Baron De La Warr, an English nobleman and Virginia's first colonial governor.Delaware occupies the northeastern portion of the Delmarva Peninsula. It is the second smallest and sixth least populous state, but the sixth most densely populated. Delaware's largest city is Wilmington. The state is divided into three counties, the lowest number of any state. From north to south, they are New Castle County, Kent County, and Sussex County. While the southern two counties have historically been predominantly agricultural, New Castle County is more industrialized.
Before its coastline was explored by Europeans in the 16th century, Delaware was inhabited by several groups of Native Americans, including the Lenape in the north and Nanticoke in the south. It was initially colonized by Dutch traders at Zwaanendael, near the present town of Lewes, in 1631. Delaware was one of the 13 colonies participating in the American Revolution. On December 7, 1787, Delaware became the first state to ratify the Constitution of the United States, and has since been known as The First State.
