Beautiful Diving / Snorkeling (Xel-Ha Park #3) Maya Riviera, Caribbean Sea, Tulum Mexico
Freediving Exploration and Videography of beautiful underwater locations, culture and life. Part 3 of diving trip to Parque Xel-Ha Tulum Mexico in Maya Riviera.
Xel-Ha Park (Parque Xel-Há) is a commercial aquatic theme park and ecotourism development located on the Caribbean coast of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, in the municipality of Solidaridad. It is part of Xcaret Experiencias Group which also owns the Xplor Park, Xcaret Park, and Xenses Park; as well as the Xichen, Xenotes, and Xoximilco tours and activities. It is situated within the Riviera Maya, a region promoted as a tourism corridor along Highway 307. It is approximately 240 kilometres (149 mi) to the north of Chetumal, and 122 kilometres (76 mi) south of Cancun. The park is named after the site of Xelha, an archaeological site of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization, part of which is located within the lands leased to the park. The Maya site of Tulum is nearby, some 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) to the south.
The theme park was founded in 1984,[3] and is under the management and marketing of the Mexican-owned Experiencias Xcaret Group.[4]
The park is centered around the natural inlet and lagoon, which is promoted as one of the main attractions of the park that forms with the flow of the river through rocks mixing salty waters with fresh underground water currents.
The inlet of Xel-Há is a natural aquarium where hundreds of species inhabit; such as tropical fish and an abundant flora. In the park there is also a turtle reserve, where research is constantly carried out to learn more about marine life and contribute with the ecological maintenance of the area.
A shark fence extends across the lagoon's entrance, and the public is permitted to swim and snorkel in the lagoon. Underwater the limestone has been eroded into a myriad of small caves and grottos. A variety of aquatic-based activities are offered by the theme park, including snorkelling, scuba diving, and swimming with dolphins.
In early 2014, Xel-ha became the first tourist park in the world to obtain an EarthCheck Gold certification, in part because the park invests in sustainability programs, buys local products and trains its staff on environmental care and preservation.[7]
Additionally, Xel-Ha excels in habitat conservation. Xel-Ha retains 75% of its habitat through the Rescue, Reproduction and Reforestation of Native Plants Program, which started operation in 2000. The nurseries at Xel-ha helped contribute to a massive re-forestation effort by parent company Experiencias Xcaret Group, who planted more than 400,000 plants in 18 months. Nearly half the new plants were placed in public areas throughout Cancun and Riviera Maya.
Tulum is a town on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It’s known for its beaches and well-preserved ruins of an ancient Mayan port city. The main building is a large stone structure called El Castillo (castle), perched on a rocky cliff above the white sand beach and turquoise sea. Near the ruins is the Parque Nacional Tulum, a coastal area with mangroves and cenotes (natural limestone sinkholes).
I do not represent Xel-Ha or associated companies in any way and was a paying visitor to obtain this footage. Please leave me comments as I would love to hear from you !

Xel-Ha- Aquatic Park in Riviera Maya- Guide & Review
Get your Xel-Ha tickets here & save up to 15% for booking in advance:
A review & guide to Xel-Ha, based on my recent visit.
About Xel-Ha:
Xel-Ha is an eco park located in the Riviera Maya of Mexico. Its main draw is water activities like snorkeling, tubing, cliff jumping, and water slides. They also have several things to see and do above water, including a playground for children. Your ticket includes unlimited food & drinks. Xel-Ha is just the right mix of excitement & relaxation, and the park is really beautiful, which is why I recommend Xel-Ha to people of all ages.
There are several eco parks in the Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Riviera Maya, and Tulum areas of Mexico, but Xel-Ha is easily one of the best. The park is owned by Experiencias Xcaret, which operates several of the top tours and parks in Cancun & the Riviera Maya.
I made this video to show you what to expect, and also give you some tips to help you get the most out of your visit. If you have any questions about Xel-Ha, leave a comment below and I'll respond. Thanks for watching!
Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored video, so in order to recover some of the costs involved in creating this video, I use referral links, which allow me to receive a small commission from Xel-Ha when you buy a ticket. This does NOT cost you anything extra, and it does not impact my opinion of the park. If you choose to use my referral link, you are buying tickets from the official website, so you're getting the cheapest price from a trusted source. You're also helping me, because it took lots of time to record & edit this video. If you don't want/need to use my links, but found my video helpful, then a like and comment would be appreciated :)

Tulum 2017 | Travel Video
Ahhh… the sound of waves lapping against the shore on the Mexican Riviera. The pure bliss of knowing you can do nothing or everything, depending on your mindset. For our family vacation, we headed down to Tulum, Mexico, about an hour and a half south of Cancun. If you decide to visit, make sure to take plenty of sunscreen and mosquito repellent!
SLEEP
We rented a home on Tankah Bay, about 10 minutes north of Tulum. The house had everything we could have possibly needed, from paddle boards, kayaks, & snorkel gear to an extremely helpful staff. Four bedroom home with amazing views and a pool. Sleeps 12. tankahshores.com
Marriott Courtyard Cancun – we stayed here the night before our departure and I was pleasantly surprised. A tropical oasis with a pool, free airport shuttle and decent food.
EAT & DRINK
Taqueria La Eufemia (along the Beach Road, right on the beach)
Blue Sky Tulum – Hotel with oven-fired pizza
Casa Cenote Restaurant (informal restaurant/bar on the beach)
Oscar y Lalo’s – tropical setting right off the 307 outside of Tulum
Estancia Jujena – Argentinian restaurant in downtown Tulum
Panna E Cioccolato Gelateria – downtown Tulum (the most amazing spicy chocolate ice cream!)
DO
Sail/Snorkeling tour with Sailing Tulum – Fabian and “El Negrito” were so friendly we felt as though they were long-lost friends. Freshest ceviche of my life (caught the barracuda as we were sailing out to Sian Ka’an Biosphere). sailingtulum.com
Casa Cenote (Cenote Manatee) – this cenote was just around the corner from us. Clearest water I’ve ever seen (I feel like I’m using a lot of superlatives in this description but it’s all true!) Great location to learn to scuba dive.
Chichen Itza – A UNESCO World-Heritage site, this pre-Columbian Mayan city features the Temple of Kulkulcan and the Great Ball Court among other noteoworthy structures.
Valladolid – colorful city near Chichen Itza
Ik Kill Cenote – one of the most gorgeous cenotes (and there are hundreds!). Get there early to avoid the crowds.
AquaWorld – the kids rented jet skis on our final day. This water park has all types of aquatic activities for all different ages.
MUSIC
Venta Pa’ Ca – Ricky Martin (feat. Maluma)
Por Mi Que No Sea – Romy Low & Henry Mendez
La Bicicleta – Carlos Vives & Shakira
Danza Kuduro – Don Omar (feat. Lucenzo)
