SInus-Coitus for piano and tape PART 1 by T.Ungvary, Adam Fellegi piano
Performed in Budapest, Vigado
The composition arose from an experiment with sinus functions controlling pitches. While listening to hundreds of short examples where twenty-four sound gererators created a sinus burst of frequencies, the composer observed a rhythmically pulsing phenomenon with certain configurations of frequencies. The piece has been developed, created, generated out of these configurations.
Despite these technicalities it is a very emotional piece. Hence the title: Sinus-Coitus. It is a reminder of the original and necessary unity between thinking and feeling. Evidence of this unity is contained in the Bible where the Hebrew word 'jadah' expresses both coitus and recognition. Even in Latin 'coitus' has the same meaning: cognoscere est coitus cum cognibili (Francesco Patrizzi 1529-1597). Understanding is inseparable from the object of understanding.

Sinus-Coitus by T. Ungvary (2017 Budapest, Baráth Bálint - piano)
The “Sinus-Coitus” is a self-creating piece. Its performer has to be not only a pianist, the piece has to be not just played on piano but it must be created on every occasion. The performer should reach his/her deepest level of his/her soul, he/she should create as a human being. I’m proud to be part of this mind-blowing process.
