7-day trek in the Annapurna region, Nepal (November 1, 2013)
Video from our 7-day trek in the Annapurna region with our guide Khadananda Barakoti (KB) and porter Hari Panday from Nepal Social Treks.
Each day started with big breakfast at 7am, later 4-5 hour trekking with few short breaks, lunch, 2-hour nap, socialising with other trekkers, dinner at 6pm, and then 8pm to bed.
The altitude was not too high (below 3200m) and the trekking was actually easier than we thought (after our experience in Ladakh). Sunny nearly every day, some amazing views near by Poon Hill, great tea houses -- sometimes even with private bathroom and double-bed.
Our trek itinerary:
Day 1
Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (about 1:30), trek to Banthanti -- Hotel: Mountain View
Day 2
Trek to Ghorepani (2775m) -- Hotel: Snowland
Day 3
Early wake-up and trek to top of the Poon Hill (3210m) for sunrise views of about 12 mountaintops. Trek to Tadapani -- Hotel: Panorama View
Day 4
Trek to Jhinu Danda (1720m), relaxing in the hot spring pools by the river -- Hotel: Ever Green
Day 5
Trek to Tolka -- Hotel: Namaste Lodge
Day 6
Trek to Dhampus (1750m) -- Hotel: Paradise View
Day 7
Trek to Phedi and drive back to Pokhara -- Hotel: Green Tara
The best views are between Ghorepani and Tadapani, pretty much similar to the view from Poon Hill. The first day trek is the hardest (evaluation of about 1360m)!
We would definitely recommend this trek if you want to spend about 5-7 days trekking. It's doable on your own! The above hotels are really good and all of them have hot shower. Double/twin room cost between 400-700 rupees, the food is lot more expensive than bed. You should end-up paying about 2000-2500 rupees per day / person (hotel, food, permits, taxi to the trek). If you go via a touring company then you will end-up paying about 5000-6000 rupees per day / person (all inclusive price -- porter and a guide).
Anyways, amazing trekking, lots of greenery, great views and amazing Nepalese people.

+ 6000 metres Trekking peak Climbing Nepal
Summits of Himalayas lure all the mountaineers of the world. However, peak under 6500 metres are considered easily climb-able by anyone who is physically fit, without specialized equipment or training, although walking with rope, crampons, traversing through crevasse and descending with jumar are the essential skills needed. Climbing a peak is a combination of joyous trekking and proper mountaineering with rather easy ascent (as ice axes etc are still required for many of them!),

Nepal 2015 Base Camp Trek and Bungee Jump
I recently got back from 26 days in Nepal. I had an amazing time and met so many people. Some of whom are in this movie. I just threw this together in a couple days and I think it turned out pretty well. I wanted some better quality but I think this is pretty nice.
I went Bungee jumping with Last Resort on a 500ft Bridge over the Bhote Kosi river near the border of Tibet. It was incredible and easily the scariest thing I've done.
I hiked to Everest base camp in a total of 9 days. I also did Kala Pathar which is about 18,100ft or 5550 Meters. The hike was much easier than anticipated which meant I had an awesome time with such incredible views along the whole way. I hoped to try to capture that in this video but of course I can only do so much and it doesn't quite capture the beauty.
Hope you like it!

Itinerary:
13/7/18 Day 1: Build up day at Garth making sure we had the right equipment and important documents before entering Africa. We then set off by coach to Heathrow to catch our first flight to Abu Dhabi.
14/7/18 Day 2: We woke on the plane, landing at Abu Dhabi in the morning. We then caught our second flight to Nairobi where we landed late morning. We bought a Kenyan SIM card from the airport and contacted our in country agent and transport to take us to our first campsite. After a short bus ride, we unloaded at Karen camp just outside Nairobi and settled down for our first night in country.
15/7/18 Day 3: Today we travelled to the school site, a four hour drive after stopping off at the supermarket for supplies. We met all the students at the school and started thinking about the project. I didn't get the opportunity to capture the amazing starscape that this school with no street lighting had to offer. None of my photos even nearly represented how impressive they were.
16/7/18 Day 4: We woke early to attend the school's assembly at 6am to start off the week. Then two of us and a teacher travelled with the Head Mistress into the local town in the morning to buy the materials required for our project. On the way back along the very uneven road, we were lucky enough to be the first in the group to come close to Zebra. After a short supply top-up from a supermarket, the materials we had ordered from a hardware shop had arrived at the school and we were ready to make a start on the project.
17/7/18 Day 5: We started a rotation of three tasks; painting dormitories, mixing concrete and laying stones.
18/7/18 Day 6: We started to work with the students in the classrooms alongside the project in the morning. In the afternoon, we trekked 45 minutes into the hills to visit a Maasai Meat Camp.
19/7/18 Day 7: A small team woke early and started work on digging the holes for the upright pieces of wood. By the end of the day, we were happy with the project being finished and we spent the afternoon in the school's religious service which consisted of music and dance.
20/7/18 Day 8: The morning was spent tidying up the project site, I sawed a log to make a plaque with our names written on it. The afternoon was spent in a leaving assembly with performances from the school and our group along with a leaving presentation.
21/7/18 Day 9: This was our final day at the school. We said our good byes and left in the morning on the 4 hour drive to Lake Naivasha. Here, we caught up with with another group from our school and warded off the monkeys before going to bed.
22/7/18 Day 10 : Today was our first trek. We took a short bus to Hell's Gate where we walked over 15km into the Gorge while walking with the wild animals including Zebra, Warthog, Giraffe and monkeys.
23/7/18 Day 11: We went on our second trek up Mount Longanot with over 600m climb over a 3.1km distance.
24/7/18 Day 12: We made the long 6 hour drive to the Maasai Mara near the border of Tanzania.
25/7/18 Day 13: Today was safari day we were lucky enough to see a huge range of wild animals despite a few punctures.
26/7/18 Day 14: Our final full day in Kenya, we travelled back to the first campsite in Nairobi where we had our final dinner.
27/7/18 Day 15 We returned to the airport in Nairobi and took the flights home arriving in the UK on the 28th in the morning
