The Popeye Boat Trip on the Torrens - Adelaide, South Australia
Popeye is a flat-bottomed boat that makes a leisurely 40-minute round trip on Adelaide's River Torrens. It has only two stops:
Elder Park - its main launch spot, which is on the river behind North Terrace, down from the Railway Station / Casino and across the river from the Adelaide Oval.
Adelaide Zoo - a second stop on the river side of the Zoo. There is no infrastructure here other than a basic landing spot and boats only stop here long enough to drop off and pick up passengers.
You can take a one-way trip between these two spots, or the entire loop from either starting point.

Glenreagh Mountain Railway - Australia
Glenreagh Mountain Railway, known as the GMR, was established in 1989 as a heritage tourist railway at Glenreagh, near Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia. GMR's objective is to restore and operate a heritage tourist railway on the Glenreagh to Ulong section of the Glenreagh to Dorrigo railway line.
GMR is a non-profit, community-based organisation run entirely by volunteers, and has an authority to raise funds under the Charitable Collections Act.
The GMR acquired the 35-kilometre section to Ulong in 1999 from the then State Rail Authority of New South Wales, and is currently restoring this section of line as well as rolling stock, to enable the heritage tourist railway to operate.
GMR's current rolling stock includes steam locomotive Z19 class 1919, 4-wheel watergin L568, TAM sleeping car, 2 heritage end-platform cars, S trucks, ex-Sydney interurban cars (U-boats) and numerous trikes and track maintenance vehicles.
As of December 2005, GMR has completed trackwork to safe working standards for train operation from Glenreagh West Depot 3.5 km west to Talawajah Creek. Steam train operations are scheduled one weekend a month subject to fire bans.
Glenreagh Mountain Railways is not currently operating. This is due to the fact that we have not yet managed to renew our safety accreditation, which ran out at the end of January 2008. We are working hard to achieve this, and return to our previous operations. At the moment, it is not possible to give a reliable estimate of when this will be.

Steam in Australia: South Australia & Queensland from Sunday River Productions
AVAILABLE AT: During times of stress, direct imports of foreign locomotives and foreign-produced Australian designs became necessary again. The effect was that by the end of the steam era an approaching steam loco could literally have been designed and/or built around the corner—or come from 10,000 miles away. And engine class did not necessarily help determine origin. In this video you will see a standard Baldwin Mikado double heading with a British-built Beyer Garratt. Working over the same lines, you see locally-designed 32-class 4-6-0s that may have been built in New South Wales by the Railway Workshops or Clyde engineering, or overseas by Beyer-Peacock in England or Baldwin in America. To add to the confusion, the magnificent 400-class narrow gauge Beyer Garratts of South Australia were built in France.
Adelaide CBD - South Australia
Adelaide is the coastal capital city of the state of South Australia, and the fifth-most populous city of Australia.
Named in honour of Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen, queen consort to King William IV, the city was founded in 1836 as the planned capital for a freely-settled British province in Australia.
Adelaide is north of the Fleurieu Peninsula, on the Adelaide Plains between the Gulf St Vincent and the low-lying Mount Lofty Rangeswhich surround the city. Adelaide stretches 20 km (12 mi) from the coast to the foothills, and 94 to 104 km (58 to 65 mi) from Gawler at its northern extent to Sellicks Beach in the south.
Adelaide CBD located by River Torrens and close to a museums such as the Art Gallery of South Australia, displaying expansive collections including noted Indigenous art, and the South Australian Museum, devoted to natural history. The city's Adelaide Festival is an annual international arts gathering with spin-offs including fringe and film events.

Video Australia Railway Museum
I was Trucking from the 1970 s to 2000 s most of the time at Richmond Towing, they did the full range of towing form minis to Mack’s Richmond’s did a lot of the big semi rollovers in the state of South Australia that was before the big interstate companies moved into South Australia I bought one of there little tow trucks and run as a owner I am retired now but I sill drop in all the time to see what’s going on. Bob & Wendy who are the owners of Richmond heavy Towing have let me use the photos that were hanging around the office that people took of the jobs that Richmond have done over the years and also there are my own photos I took working there for many years. After many years of driving all types of Richmond Towing’s trucks and I was getting older and slower so I bought one of Richmond’s little tow truck and run as a owner/driver, I did most of the night tows to give the other drivers a break. Most towing company’s all the drivers work day and do callouts at night 24/7 when I retired my tow that I had spent way to much money on making it my pride and joy, I knew I would never get the money it was worth so I donated to the National Road Transport Hall of Fame in Alice Springs.
The Adelaide Metro 3000 Class DMU
In this video we take a tour of the Adelaide Metro 3000 & 3100 Class DMU's. Built by Commonwealth Engineering and Clyde Engineering, 70 of these railcars were built between 1987 & 1996 to replace the Redhen railcars which dated from the mid 1950's. Their design closely resembles Melbourne's Comeng EMU which Commonwealth Engineering was building at the same time, however these carriages were 2.3m longer and featured only 2 doors per side. There are two sub-classes to the train; the 3000 Class feature driving cabs on both ends, while the 3100 Class feature driving cabs on only one end.
The fleet received an internal refurbishment in the late 2000's featuring new seating, PID's, CCTV, push-button power operated doors and an repainted interior. The railcars also have some unique features including electro-magnetic track brakes and more crucially for trainspotters, a railfan window.
The railcars used to run network wide, but since the Seaford and Tonsley lines were electrified, the fleet now only runs on the Belair, Gawler, Grange and Outer Harbor lines.
In 2018 Adelaide Metro began a life extension project for these trains. New features include a new red livery (to match the 4000 Class EMU's), a new V8 engine (replacing the Mercedes Benz OM444LA and MTU Friedrichshafen 12V183 TE12 V12 engines), new traction motors, brakes, overhauled bogies, couplers and air conditioning. Because of these changes the newly refurbished railcars sound completely different from their older counterparts.
