Willamette Valley Vineyards, Oregon
As part of our participation in the Wine Tourism Conference, held in Portland in November 2013, we opted in for the final event: a wine and food pairing dinner at Willamette Valley Vineyards. This was also the 4th winery we've visited in our project to visit a winery in all 50 states.
The winery, founded by Jim Bernau in 1983 and now celebrating its 30th anniversary, is making the tasting experience the main focus of customer visits, believing that wines should be tasted with food. We were the first group, the dress rehearsal if you will, of the newly built space. With a commercial kitchen and a demonstration area including wood burning oven, plenty of great food is sure to be had.

Let the worms do the work!
Mimi Casteel of the Bethel Heights Vineyard has done much searching to find the best way to grow grapes in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. In this interview, learn how that search has lead to worms, tea, and microcultures.
Oregon Fine Wine
Oregon is home to a large variety of fine wine. There are hundreds of vineyards and wineries across the state, and the number has been growing since the 1980's. Sales are in excess of 1,500,000 cases per year, over each of the last 5 years. Many consider Oregon to produce some of the finest wines in the United States. Oregon is home to a significant number of independent vineyards. Compared to California wineries, the average winery in Oregon is much smaller, and the majority of the wineries operate their own vineyards. The largest concentration of fine wine in the Willamette Valley is found in Yamhill County, and many of the wineries find their home in Newberg or Dundee. This video is a tribute to the wine industry in Oregon. Jungle Media is a producer of marketing and training video content to businesses throughout Oregon, and Washington. We are located in the heart of wine country, in Newberg, Oregon.

Shea Vineyards
Oregon is rightfully known as Pinot Noir country, and one of the better-known purveyors of this grape is the 200-acre vineyard planted by Dick and Deirdre Shea in 1989. Shea Vineyards lies in the heart of Oregons Yamhill-Carlton District. The Willakenzie soils in this part of the state make it an ideal site for some world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Finally, after yielding fruit to some of the Wests best known wineries, Dick and Deirdre founded Shea Wine Cellars in 1996, in order to produce their own wines from Estate fruit. We wondered what it would be like to taste the full lineup of their current vintage. We didnt have to wait long.
Fortunately, our own Rusty Gaffney was able to lay his hands on the entire 2005 lineup of wines, and arranged for all of us to sit down and taste through them. Join us as we explore the smells and tastes of Oregons Shea Vineyards - one bottle at a time.
Join us as we talk with with Dick Shea about his eponymous Oregon vineyard.
