Adirondack Mountains NY
The Adirondack Mountains form a massif in northeastern New York, United States. Its boundaries correspond to the boundaries of Adirondack Park. The mountains form a roughly circular dome, about 160 miles in diameter and about 1 mile high. The current relief owes much to glaciation.
The Adirondack Park is one of the most spectacular natural attractions in New York and lies within a day's drive for much of the Northeastern United States, as well as Ontario and Quebec. Once you visit – you'll always return.

Saranac Lake Free
Located just 9 miles northwest of the bustling tourist town of Lake Placid, Saranac Lake is the perfect escape from the high prices that accompany Lake Placid's Olympics attractions. Filled with shops, hotels and local diners, Saranac Lake is considered one of the most idyllic villages in upstate New York.
Whiteface Mountain (Lake Placid)
With the largest vertical drop on the eastern seaboard (measuring 3,430 feet), 87 trails and 11 ski lifts, Whiteface Mountain is a skier's paradise. But should you decide to visit during the warmer months, don't fret. Whiteface offers plenty of hiking and biking trails, plus several adrenaline-pumping adventures like 4x4 excursions and an airbag free-fall jump activity.
Fort Ticonderoga
Nicknamed the Key to the Continent in the 18th century, Fort Ticonderoga sits on Lake Champlain and once served as a strategic focal point during the Revolutionary War and the French and Indian War. After a careful restoration project in the 20th century, Fort Ticonderoga was reopened as a living museum, featuring everything from barracks and kitchens to cannons and an immaculately maintained garden
The Wild Center—a natural history museum that draws you into the vast beauty of Adirondack Park through interactive exhibits and hands-on learning. Check out the museum's Wild Walk Treetop Trail where a trail of bridges takes you into the forest treetop as well as animal exhibits and films that bring a new perspective to nature.
High Falls Gorge—Beautiful waterfalls are that much closer at High Falls Gorge where kid-friendly trails bring you to four waterfalls on a 22-acre nature preserve. Providing safe, easy access for visitors of all ages, this park is perfect for scenic walks, picnics, and views of the Ausable River as it cascades over granite cliffs and into the ancient gorge. Have a casual lunch onsite at the River View Cafe.
The Adirondack Coast
Copy of Ausable Chasm Tubing Basin
Wrapping along the shores of Lake Champlain, the Adirondack Coast is New York's eastern treasure, home to geologic wonders, waterfront retreats, and civil history. Head to Plattsburgh City Beach, one of the largest freshwater beaches in America, for sandy shores, kayaking, and sweeping views of Lake Champlain. Crest the waves with your rental canoe or stand-up paddleboard from The Kayak Shack—it's a fun way to get on the lake or enjoy kayak tours with the family.

Wildlands of the Adirondack Park, New York State
The Adirondack Park was created in 1892 by the state of New York. Containing six-million acres, the Park is the largest park in the contiguous United States. Driving Downtown - Saranac Lake, New York
Saranac Lake is a village in the state of New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,406.[2] The village is named after Upper, Middle and Lower Saranac lakes, which are nearby.
The village of Saranac Lake covers parts of three towns (Harrietstown, St. Armand, and North Elba) and two counties (Franklin and Essex). The county line is within two blocks of the center of the village. At the 2010 census, 3,897 village residents lived in Harrietstown,[3] 1,367 lived in North Elba,[4] and 142 lived in St. Armand.[5] The village boundaries do not touch the shores of any of the three Saranac Lakes; Lower Saranac Lake, the nearest, is a half mile west of the village. The northern reaches of Lake Flower, which is a wide part of the Saranac River downstream from the three Saranac Lakes, lie within the village. The town of Saranac is an entirely separate entity, 33 miles (53 km) down the Saranac River to the northeast.
The village lies within the boundaries of the Adirondack Park, 9 miles (14 km) west of Lake Placid. These two villages, along with nearby Tupper Lake, comprise what is known as the Tri-Lakes region.
Saranac Lake was named the best small town in New York State and ranked 11th in the United States in The 100 Best Small Towns in America.[6] In 1998, the National Civic League named Saranac Lake an All-America City, and in 2006 the village was named one of the Dozen Distinctive Destinations by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.[7] 186 buildings in the village are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

OUR HOMESTEAD WORLD | USA | NEW YORK | Long Island & Adirondacks
From a micro backyard suburban homestead to building our future retirement homestead in the Adirondack Park, this is our contribution to a homestead collaboration between Danny and Wanda from Deep South Homestead in the USA and Liz Zorab from Blyther farms in the UK.
The idea is to get homesteaders big and small, urban and rural, anywhere around the world (The more places the better!) to share what homesteading is like where they live. They put together a list of 15 questions to answer and after watching all the videos other homesteads contributed we couldn't wait to make our own! We hope you enjoy it and if you want to add your own video you can reach out to either (or both) Wanda and Danny and/or Liz so they can add your video to their list. You can check out the 'req's' using the links to their channels below.
Questions:
1. Where in the world are you? (Country)
2. Where approximately is your homestead located? You do not have to give specifics but and east of a major city or west of would help.
3. What is the size of your homestead?
4. Is your homestead rural or urban?
5. What is the climate and weather like?
6. What is the growing season? ( first and last frost)
7. Do you have any animals?
8. What fruits, veggies, grains do you grow?
9. How do you grow your crops? organic, intensive, commercial, raised bed, container, row gardening, BTE, Greenhouse, etc
10. Do you sell any produce, animals or things you create for income?
11. Do you grow solely for your own needs?
12. Do you have health issues that impact or guide your homesteading? Do they affect how you live and work your land?
13. How long have you been homesteading?
14. Do you like homesteading?
15. What homestead activity do you like the most?

Best Places to Travel in Upstate New York: Adirondack Park
Lake George, New York
Recorded September 12, 2016
Lake George, nicknamed the Queen of American Lakes, is a long, narrow oligotrophic lake located at the southeast base of the Adirondack Mountains, in the northeastern portion of the state of New York.
This video begins as I take a scenic drive on the Prospect Mountain Veteran's Memorial High Parkway which provides several scenic overlooks of the lake and the town of Lake George. Next I take a drive through the town of Lake George making stops at the Old Courthouse and the only remaining Howard Johnson's Restaurant in the world.
