Pro-government supporters hold flash mob in Hong Kong's Admiralty
Hong Kong's pro-government demonstrators gathered in Admiralty on Sept 24 in support of the government and police. A flash mob consisting of a few hundred people descended on Pacific Place, a major shopping mall in the financial district. They prepared a huge Chinese national flag and a banner celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

We begin the walk in Queens road central, and walk towards the direction of HSBC bank, Cheung Kong building, Citibank plaza, then onto Admiralty towards Pacific Place, Lippo Centre, Admiralty centre.
‘Central (also Central District; Chinese: 中環) is the central business district of Hong Kong. It is located in Central and Western District, on the north shore of Hong Kong Island, across Victoria Harbour from Tsim Sha Tsui, the southernmost point of Kowloon Peninsula. The area was the heart of Victoria City, although that name is rarely used today. As the central business district of Hong Kong, it is the area where many multinational financial services corporations have their headquarters. Consulates general and consulates of many countries are also located in this area, as is Government Hill, the site of the government headquarters. The area, with its proximity to Victoria Harbour, has served as the centre of trade and financial activities from the earliest days of the British colonial era in 1841, and continues to flourish and serve as the place of administration after the transfer of sovereignty to China in 1997.’
'Admiralty is the eastern extension of the central business district (adjacent to, but separate from, Central) on the Hong Kong Island of Hong Kong. It is located on the eastern end of the Central and Western District, bordered by Wan Chai to the east and Victoria Harbour to the north.
The name of Admiralty refers to the former Admiralty Dock in the area which housed a naval dockyard. The dock was later demolished when land was reclaimed and developed northward as the naval base HMS Tamar. The Chinese name, Kam Chung (金鐘), lit. Golden Bell, refers to a gold-coloured bell that was used for timekeeping at Wellington Barracks.[1]

The main development of the area in recent years has been the development of the Tamar site into the Central Government Complex, which started operating in 2011. Facing Victoria Harbour, the complex houses the Office of the Chief Executive, the Legislative Council Complex and the Central Government Offices.
As one of the main financial areas in Hong Kong, there are plenty of Grade-A commercial buildings in Admiralty[3] including:

British Consulate General Hong Kong
Chinese People's Liberation Army Forces Hong Kong Building
CITIC Tower
Far East Financial Centre
High Court Building
Lippo Centre, which houses the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office
Pacific Place, a complex featuring a shopping mall, several hotels and office towers, that opened in Admiralty in phases between 1988 and 1991. The complex is connected to the MTR Admiralty Station via an underground walkway. A later phase, Three Pacific Place, is located in Wan Chai

China blames US for massive Hong Kong protest
Chinese state media is blaming the US for helping organize massive protests in Hong Kong. According to organizers, more than a million people took to the streets to protest a new law which could allow Hong Kongers to be extradited to China on a range of offenses. Critics say the move would make anyone in Hong Kong vulnerable to being grabbed by the Chinese authorities for political reasons or inadvertent business offenses and undermine the city's semi-autonomous legal system.
Though police put the protest size at closer to 250,000, there's little doubt that the march was among the largest since 2003, when 500,000 people protested against a sedition law -- and successfully blocked it. CNN's Matt Rivers reports.

The great strike across Hong Kong happened today. Mostly young men and women. Police used tear gas extensively to try to disperse the crowds on the streets. Protesters were never violent or aggressive as far as I saw. They did not provoke the Police. They barracaded one of the main highways in Admiralty near Tamar Park apparently not out of a plan to deliberately to disrupt but mainly to assist with their own crowd control and they even were seen to apologise to the drivers affected at the front of the barricade. After getting them to turn around the crowd filled the streets and waited for the Police to make their move. Stills can be seen on my facebook and a long video made up from various clips make up this album.

Extradition bill protesters cause rush hour chaos in Hong Kong by blocking main MTR rail line

Rush hour train services were disrupted and delayed in Hong Kong on the morning of July 24, 2019, after protesters launched another campaign targeting railway operator MTR Corporation.
The protest in Admiralty is related to July 21 violence at another MTR station in Yuen Long, where a mob of men in white T-shirts attacked passengers, passers-by, and those returning from an earlier demonstration in Central.
The group accuses the MTR of mishandling train door operations during the attack, and police of delaying their response to the violence.

For the second time in four days, Hong Kong was brought to a standstill by mass protests over a controversial extradition bill that threatens to chip away at the city’s diminishing semi-independence from China.
The demonstrations earned protesters a brief victory: the delay of a second reading of the bill. But tensions soon boiled over, when police fired rubber bullets and teargas to clear protesters from the streets, injuring dozens and further stoking outrage between the city’s pro-Beijing government and its residents.
Wednesday night’s events follow one of the biggest public protests in Hong Kong’s history, when more than one million people, about one-seventh of the population, swarmed the city’s streets on Sunday.
At the center of the public's fury is a proposed law that would allow China to extradite people from Hong Kong to the mainland. The bill has come to symbolize growing fear that the region, long-viewed as a separate entity from mainland China, is losing its autonomy under Beijing’s encroaching authoritarianism. They have reason to be concerned.
When the UK handed the island back to China in 1997, Hong Kong was promised freedoms of speech, press and assembly under its Basic Law — which effectively serves as the islands constitution and differentiates it from the mainland. But in recent years, Beijing has begun to impose its will on Hong Kong, slowly eroding those freedoms in a bid to bring the region more firmly under its control.
“I reminisce about the period of British rule. I was born and brought up in Hong Kong” Wong Fung Yiu, a 63 year old retiree at Sunday’s march told VICE News. “Human rights were better back in that time, compared to what we have nowadays. I have no trust in Mainland China.”
Despite the delays, Carrie Lam, the island’s pro-Beijing Chief Executive, has vowed to push the bill through the government saying further delays would only cause more “anxiety and divisiveness in society.

Hong Kong Extradition Bill protests turn violent
A journalist verbally sparred with Hong Kong police officers for allegedly firing tear gas in the direction of press covering extradition bill protests in Admiralty on June 12.
This footage shows the man – identified as Taiwan-based reporter “Josep” by the uploader – yelling at the officers for firing tear gas rounds at press and photographers.
“You’re shooting the press; you shoot the journalists!” the man can be heard yelling. When the police order him to disperse, he responses: “It’s still Hong Kong, not China. Not yet, not yet…”
According to a report from South China Morning Post, as of 10 pm on Wednesday, 72 people aged 15 to 66 had been injured in the violence resulting from clashes between demonstrators and the police.

Hong Kong protesters block major roads in Admiralty
Hong Kong police officers have begun a clearance operation to remove protesters blocking major roads in Admiralty. Officers in riot gear removed makeshift blockades set up by protesters and fired tear gas a number of times. But protesters are refusing to leave.

Hong Kong protests: China flag trampled in mall unrest - BBC News
Activists in Hong Kong have desecrated a Chinese flag and vandalised a shopping centre on the 16th straight weekend of anti-government protests.
The unsanctioned rally at the New Town Plaza started on a small scale and peacefully.
Video footage then showed a Chinese flag being trampled by protesters before being carried out and thrown into a river.
The BBC's Stephen McDonell surveyed the damage at the New Town Plaza in Sha Tin as riot police arrived.
