Adnams Brewery, Southwold, Suffolk, England
Had a blast touring Adnams Brewery in Southwold.
The Adnams Year
The Adnams Year through the events we supported in 2012.
We sponsor, support and attend many local events throughout the year and in 2012 we were certainly busy (despite the weather!), so we thought we'd share this video with you. Nearly all the photos were taken by Adnams staff and the videos were filmed in-house and by Eye for Business (Beer videos) and Spring Agency (Return of the Ghost Ship).
Events included in the video: Latitude Festival, Tour of Britain, Suffolk Show, Royal Norfolk Show, Adnams Southwold 10k
Keep watching to the end to see soon-to-be Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish in the Tour of Britain!

Adnams Southwold Bitter 3.7% abv
Adnams Head Brewer, Fergus Fitzgerald, introduces Adnams Southwold Bitter.
Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness.
Brewed with the finest East Anglian malted barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use a blend of hop varieties, including Fuggles, which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer.
Available on cask in selected outlets and in mini cask from

Adnams Ghost Ship Ghostly Pale Ale British Beer Review in 4K - Along the Thames in Windsor, England
This was the original tasting of Adnams Ghost Ship, a pale ale from the Sole Bay Brewery in Southwold, UK - this video was shot in 4K UHD in Windsor, England, on a nice and sunny early spring day! Cheers!!!
ADNAMS GHOST SHIP - A GHOSTLY PALE ALE
Adnams Ghost Ship is inspired by one of Adnams’ pubs in one of the UK’s most haunted villages, The Bell at Walberswick. The treacherous shifting sandbanks around Walberswick and the Suffolk coast are littered with eerie wrecks of ships from bygone eras.
Ghost Ship is a pale ale with an assertive pithy bitterness, biscuit flavours and fresh citrus aromas.
Ghost Ship was adapted from a recipe for Deathly Pale Ale. Ever heard of it? Well if you haven’t you’re not alone. Even the most avid Adnams fans would struggle with this one and with good reason, it never existed, or at least not officially...
Style: Pale Ale

Hops: Citra and a blend of other American hop varieties
ABV: 4.5%

Adnams Broadside Christmas Pudding Recipe
Yes, it's easy to buy a pudding these days (we've created a very tasty pud which you can taste in our stores and hotels), but it's loads more fun making your own, especially when you can add a healthy splash of Broadside to it.
Fancy giving it a go for Stir Up Sunday?
Here's what you'll need to make two puddings:
460 gm raisins
100 gm currants
150 gm sultanas
100 gm chopped glacé cherries
30 gm flaked almonds
100 ml Broadside
100 ml Spirit of Broadside
2 oranges
2 lemons
Juice of one orange
Juice of one lemon
100 gm suet
60 gm breadcrumbs
100 gm plain flour
180 gm soft brown sugar
4 gm mixed spice
2 gm nutmeg
2 gm cinnamon
2 gm clove
10gm salt
4 eggs
Instructions
1. First, grab a large bowl and add the dried fruit and almonds. Then add the lemon and orange zests plus juices and the Broadside Beer and Spirit of Broadside. Stir well then leave this to soak overnight at room temperature.
2. The next day, beat the eggs with the salt and mix them into your soaked fruit and nuts.
3. Gently fold all the other ingredients into your bowl by hand until evenly mixed. Don't be tempted to use a mixing machine as this will overwork the ingredients and leave you with a heavy pudding. It's traditional to let each member of the family take turns at having a stir, and make a wish!
4. Next, line your pudding basins with greaseproof paper, fill with your mixture and top with greaseproof. Make your pudding bowl watertight by adding a secure lid of foil.
5. You can either cook your pudding in a steamer, or a simmering pot of water with a lid for around 5 hours. The puddings will take on a darker colour as they cook. When they are cooked, remove from heat and leave to go cold. Do not remove from your basin or pudding mould. Store your pudding for around a month to let the flavours mature.
6. When you're ready (Christmas day!), re-heat your pudding in a steamer or a simmering pot of water for around one to one and a half hours.
